I can live with Robinson, I'd be really pissed if we took him over a lot of available guys and didn't move back, but I can understand it, despite how much I don't like it.
However... he and wormley 1 and 2 is gg for me. I'd be done. We need a boost in the run game and we need OL improvement in general, what we don't need is another meatshield on the DL to eat blocks and let substandard players fail to handle the 1on1 opportunities said meatshield grants them, what we need is some players who just match up well and can beat guys without the DLs help, make everyone better across the front by bringing an elite threat, rather than freeing up weak players with large players who DONT pose a threat because they're too damn slow and lumbering to rush the passer.
Add the fact that wormley simply isn't a round 2 talent compounds all of that

I saw so many completions falling short of the first down marker. I saw so many terrible returns in the kicking game. I saw where the drives fell to far from fg range and we had to punt. There u go!
So what does mcaffrey do to fix these problems...
36 minutes ago, Boddiebroadus said:I agree with you on all this but that doesn't equal pick 16 to me. He has too much work still and he's injured. I would like a more refined prospect at 16. I think he has all the potential in the world but that may all he be.
Don't get me wrong he's far from my first choice. But a few days ago I would've ranted over the pick, but if he happens to be the pick tomorrow, the way I see it after more film review, I would be on board with it 100%. You gotta be blind to not see this guys immense potential, which really shouldn't be that hard to develop into. High character and work ethic guys with this much raw talent don't come by often.
I mean hell Myles Garrett isn't exactly refined and he's touted as the next Julius peppers/jevon kearse.
14 minutes ago, PurpleHorseman said:And he can bend. He has on occasions. But so far it isn't his preferred arsenal. Like Bosa everybody saying he would bust and couldn't bend. He showed he could bend some his inaugural NFL game. I said Bosa would be as good or better than jj Watt. And I'm going with the latter. As for Takk he has the raw tools. A year with Suggs will help him a lot
The people saying bosa couldn't bend weren't watching his film. He slipped and fell on occasion because he's so damn big and bending like he's 2 inches shorter and 30lbs lighter.
I still don't like mckinleys bend much, but he's one of the rare cases that I think his lean can be improved, he plays with such a low center of gravity he just doesn't use it to flatten the edge when he has the opportunity. That could be developed with better knowledge of when and how to disengage in different ways
1 minute ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:I dont know if youve read much about his background -- he's a survivor and real fighter. Hes had to overcome some pretty rough circumstances just to get to this point, and hes got a great support group around him in his aunt and grandmother.
I always apply a few bonus points to prospects like that. It makes me more confident that they are not going to take the opportunity for granted, and they have that drive to get the most out of their ability. Because tons of potential is great and all, but if the kid never lives up to half of it you dont have much.
THis kids got potential and what it takes to achieve it.
I haven't heard his background but I agree with guys overcoming the odds. Torrey smith is a prime example, he over achieved by miles here in Baltimore because he's just an excellent human being who has been through hell and will succeed by appreciating his opportunities and making the most of them. If takk gets in here and busts his hump and learns to play like a pro then he can be really special
5 minutes ago, ravensnation5220 said:Ya thats why I was big on him before. The only thing that really worries me is he wont be able to play or practice till probably september because of his shoulder surgery
Out of the loop here because this is the first I'm hearing about it smh
but I must say the fact that he played the way he did with a torn labrum is damn impressive. He played with brute force with that injury and was bench pressing blockers.
6 minutes ago, Ravens4Real said:Just don't like using a first rounder on an ILB. Especially when you already have one very good one. I don't think you need two stud ILB's.
We need a player at a postition which impacts the game more. OLB/WR/CB. I am of the mindset that these complementary positions can be filled in the later rounds. Postitions like G/C/ILB/DT.
For those reasons are why I'd be upset with Foster being our pick at 16.
I'd be upset with it jUst because foster seems like a legit knucklehead who's bound to be trouble. He's an undeniable talent who would be a welcomed addition, but then again he wouldn't be available to us if he wasn't such a character and concussion risk
I've been warming up to takk McKinley after watching more film. I love the way he just takes blockers on a ride against their will, like he just kidnaps dudes and says "you're coming with me boi" and drags them to the backfield. And he breaks free from blocks without even using any disengage tactics, he just violently shoves dudes off of him.
I would really have to hope that Suggs teaches this young man everything he can, he seems like a bright young man and obviously a workaholic, nobody with that effort level is gonna be slacking at any point. And the way he closes in and eats up ground is just amazing.
It's also loads of fun to watch him get turned around by blockers and see him recklessly flail to get squared back up without losing ground. When he got spun around against ASU and he just blindly leaped in the air with the slim hope that he could bat a pass I just laughed... hopefully he can harness that desire and turn it into something a little more thoughtful lol. With the likely bs rumors of takk being high on our board I can't say I'd be too disappointed after a second and third thought
3 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:it's incredibly lazy if it isn't true - i guess the only reason he'd have for not changing them is if he thinks we are the only team who'd have these guys high and other teams won't which feels crazy - if he were changing the picks to those guys from other picks id be more worried but the fact that he's been set on those two through the whole process makes me think he's banking on michigan and bama bias to win the day and cant be bothered to change them... i just cant see any way that wormley is BPA even in the 3rd round let alone the first 2 rounds
His rationale is "the ravens get their replacement for Timmy Jernigan"
his rationale is always so lazy, I used to respect his analysis til this year. It's always "X team gets their Y" then rattles off a bunch of basic stats. Before he got stuck on wormley he was stuck on kamara and foreman and Royce freeman before he opted to return to school, and his rationale was "the ravens could use more talent at running back. _____ ran for X yards and Y touchdowns in 2016" word for word every week and he would just rotate different running backs at the pick. He's been garbage this year

Nawww...Mike Ross is the real deal. That size and speed combo...
Mike will and John Ross combined would basically be Odell Beckham lol
Am I the only one who wants to punch Charlie Campbell? He is changing around every teams mocks but he has been dead set on us taking cam Robinson and Chris wormley for weeks. I'd call for ozzies resignation if that was our first 2 rounds
5 minutes ago, trevorsteadman said:Boards will come back next year after the team wins the super bowl and all the bandwagon fans want somewhere to talk about this so called Ravens draft being awesome?
No, they'll spew cancer and aids on the ravens FB and twitter page, and talk about "now that we've gotten 2 rings out of flacco it's time to move on! Let's not have another 2013 disaster! And Ozzie can go too because he still hasn't brought back boldin!"
41 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:to be fair to mariota he has played like a pass-first qb - obviously there are some flashy runs in his highlight reel but he's been a pretty damn good pocket passer in his first 2 years
Oh I wasn't calling him a run first qb, or at least I didn't mean to lol. I was more referring to his style of running as a qb, rather than buying time to make downfield throws and avoiding pressure, he's more likely to take off running and putting himself at exposure to injury
4 minutes ago, balfan23 said:I know I was thinking the same thing. The key here is whether or not Marriotta can stay healthy and be at least a solid franchise QB. If he can be that, with the picks they've been making of late and with the picks they currently have, I firmly believe you are looking at the odds on favorite to dominate that division for the next 5 to 10 years.
With that line and power run game to lean on, mariota just needs to be more opportunistic and less aggressive. Don't run as a first option, take the run when there's an opening, and scramble to let receivers get open rather than scramble for a run. If he adjusts to be a legit NFL scrambler rather than a running qb than they could dominate. Oj Howard would be a devastating addition that would make their offense really hard to game plan against.
I'm more and more vehemently against an OL at 16. Trade back, sure, but the value of either lamp or cam is god awful at 16 and we need to get more day 2 picks to justify the value, when you have the likes of dion Dawkins in round 2 who I think is far and away a better RT prospect than either of the first rounders, and pat elflein who is a great center prospect filling a bigger need, then I just don't see why we take either of those guys when we could get a Davis or Humphrey or reddick or Barnett to really make a splash. If we trade back and land lamp or cam, then we can seal the deal for elflein with an additional round 2 pick which is ultimately what we need more than either of those 2, while also picking up a guy like Tim Williams, Lawson, Witherspoon, or if we're feeling spunky and he's available, Sidney jones, plus you have the small school guys like bowser and rivers who would be great fits for us at 47.
I would be ecstatic to see us pass on either of the first round guards for a guy like Corey Davis, and get dion dawkins at 47 and if we're lucky land pat elflein in the third. That's an immediate and massive offensive overhaul that instantly fills every offensive hole with a day one starter. I don't see anywhere near the same game changing draft plans that could start out with lamp or cam in round one, it just doesn't add up

Dion Dawkins, T, Temple.
Would've made this same pick if I picked for the colts
10 minutes ago, rmw10 said:I think you have to weight it more strongly to the latter. I knew he had some troubles but seeing some of the write ups and just how many run-ins he's had with the law really surprised me. I'd view him like Foster - nothing major (he wasn't convincted of anything) but those red flags just keep adding up and typically that's a bad sign for future behavior.
Being a pothead, being a drinker, getting in a fight or 2, having an attitude, etc. can be excused and can often be fixed in the right environment.
Poor judgement, poor character, and bad decision making, cannot be excused or fixed. At least in my opinion.
We've seen guys like Brandon Marshall do a complete 180, but it's rare for someone who repeatedly gets in trouble in multiple ways to just suddenly become a model citizen. When you have a large sample size showing a distinct pattern, it usually means something
With the 45th pick, the cardinals select
Carl Lawson, edge, auburn

1 hour ago, jboy19 said:Id knock him more for getting lost in space and only being a pusher in the run game. Would want to have seen him finish more/play with an edge.
Taking average/subaverage tackles with bad instincts and putting them at guard is pretty much how the Chargers demolished their OL.
you think getting lost in space is a bigger issue for a guard than a tackle? well i wont try to figure out your train of thought on that one...
and getting push in the run game is a bad thing? again...
1 hour ago, 52520Andrew said:Unless you are the Browns, then you just get Trent Richardsons and Brandon Weedens along with your Justin Gilberts and Johnny Manziels
Well... yeah. Lol, they're the browns.
The titans have done well though, I thought trading away DGB was a bad idea, he has enormous potential and appears to have his head in straight and they could use some wr help. They've drafted well recently, if Kevin Dodd develops into half of his potential then they got a good value, Conklin is elite and he and Lewan give them their identity on offense. Derrick Henry would probably be a bad pick on any team except for the titans, he can play well in that downhill power scheme. If they get OJ Howard and a good wr and cb in the mid first and third rounds then they are on their way to something big
3 hours ago, balfan23 said:I'd suspect they take Garrett at 1 and try to move up from 12 to get Trubisky. The question is whether they'd need to jump the Jets to get him. If so, trading with TEN at #5 is going to be pretty costly, but I think they've got a wealth of picks to make that happen.
Of course, that doesn't work if SF is bent on taking him. I just don't think they are.
I'm getting excited by the talk of potential run on QBs in the top 15. 3 QBs in the top 15 would be absolutely brilliant. Between CLE, SF, NYJ and either BUF or ARZ ... it certainly is possible, despite all the QB evaluators saying that none of them are worth it. Three in the top 15 will push someone awesome to us (of course, we'll probably still trade back and pick an O lineman!)
man if the browns get desperate and the titans bring in another boatload of picks, they are gonna end up winning a super bowl soon. you can only draft so many players in the top 100 back to back before you suddenly have a stupidly talented roster.
they really lucked out by sitting #2 last year despite having a franchise qb.
patiently waiting for this ozzie bash to turn into a flacco bash
2 hours ago, jboy19 said:It's mainly his lack of instincts that I think would kill him at guard. His kick-slide gets enough depth and he plays with a wide enough base that I think theres something to work with at right tackle.
Either way drafting Robinson makes me a Robinson fan and it appears I might need to prepare myself for that reality.
his kickstep is the weakest part of his game, he totally misses on his kickstep at times and takes very shallow drops and gets toasted around the edge, its legit the biggest knock on cam
