  1. in my personal opinion, dean pees was absolutely brilliant in dialing up coverages and 4 man rushes against the steelers, he let jimmy do his thing on brown, sent the 4 man rush, and let our LB's and DB's plug every possible throwing lane, who wouldve thought playing conservative defense would be such a ballsy move

ive always liked pees and i think he is brilliant for what we have on our team right now, rex or chuck are probably 2 of the top 3 DC's in the league but im not so sure they would fit our roster

I don't call the lopsided TOP in Week 1 successful. I don't call no TOs, no QB pressure, no sacks, successful. I don't call the other team scoring on 5 of 6 drives successful. Which is where the reliance on TOs comes in.

  3. i am convinced dorsett is the best wr option for this team. a trade up for him in the 2nd would be worth it even if we had to give up our 3rd for it.

we'd be losing even more value by losing a 3rd rounder

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

if it means getting dorsett then i dont think were losing value at all. like i said i think getting dorsett in the early 2nd will have a much better impact than whoever we would get in the 2nd+3rd. wr needs to be addressed in the draft more than any other position and it isnt even close, we wont have a shot at doing that by picking at the tail end of every round, and after the mid 2nd the talent gets thin at wr, while there is good depth at many other positions such as cb and dl.

my first time commenting on this site. im from ontario canada and have been in love with the baltimore ravens since 2000. my take o this years draft is sliding out of the first round and getting an early second round pick to acquire phillip dorset and double up later at wr with someone like darren waller.i think this kid would be a tremendous asset in the red zone. also draft a cb with our original 2nd round pick. love tevin coleman rb too. if we can get these guys i would do it.

      JoeyFlex5

i have trouble even considering KLM as an option to be honest.

but yeah i would like to see what urban can do, but we havent seen him yet so if ngata is released then we officially have no proven commodities at DE and it should be addressed, just in case.

not saying pass up on a wr or db or rusher for bennett, but im a big fan of bennett personally and think he would be a great fit at DE for us

  6. SMH bodybag day in camp. this is ridiculous and something isnt right, niners must be practicing dirty out there or something because they havent had any injuries while we may have just lost 2 starters for the season.

mile high miracle certainly is easily in the conversation for greatest football game ever played, without question. and yea the 58 ship is on there. it literally seems every "great" team has about 3 or 4 games each. its filled with raiders, niners, miami, giants, steelers, pats, and colts, everything else is an afterthought

  9. a few picks had me scratching my head in day 3, but overall we absolutely NAILED this draft, straight up home run(on paper at least) the last 2 drafts looks like the beginning of another super bowl in the near future

  11. kubiak, please dont leave for denver. this team will be a contender for years and denver has 1 year of regular season dominance followed by playoff choking left in them, once peyton retires that team will be far worse than any texans team you coached.

Resign and re-sign drive me nuts, lol. I don't get how folks don't know these are two entirely different terms! If we took all the comments at face value we would have no players on our team, because people want us to "resign" them as in let them go, lol.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i say that simply because of convenience lol. sometimes when im not feeling rushed ill throw in the hyphen to make it proper but sometimes i just say "to hell with it, they know what i mean"

but dominate and dominant isnt a matter of someone getting lazy and not typing the full term, its simply not knowing that you are spelling a word ENTIRELY wrong

    4. Grapple Raven

      Grapple Raven

Lol, yeah that is what I thought too. But when I read comments like please resign Justin Tucker, my first thought is "omg you want to let him go?" lol. I agree most folks are probably to lazy to insert the hyphen, but there is a big difference between those two words. It still drives me nuts, lol.

  16. brandon merriweather is the type of person that caused goodell to make these helmet rules that we complain about. this guy needs to be out of the league, period, he has shown repeatedly that he is nothing but a hazard to the players around him, he doesnt know how to get low, doesnt care about form, doesnt use his arms or shoulders, he just launches his helmet at opponents heads and hopes it works. he needs to be gone from this league.

Merriweather is just a poor player. You're right in that he cannot tackle, he just launches. The hit on Torrey was atrocious but it's just the latest example of disregard for other players. He's been suspended and fined before, time to up the ante.

  17. one of 2 things that couldnt happen to this or else we would be screwed... happened. i hope kubiak can SERIOUSLY dial up that run game and our defense can keep a lead, because with james hurst at LT our passing game doesnt stand a chance, especially with no pitta.

well pardon me, i didnt pay as much attention in the preseason as i usually do so i didnt see it first hand, but i didnt hear very good things on these boards about hurst. and my comment on the run game wasnt about hursts run blocking ability, it was more about how dominant our right side has been and how important it is for kubiak to play to that strength

I'm not worried at all, because I know Ozzie knows what he is doing. Today is the day, plus we also picked up Lewis to play FS in free agency.

The difference with Ozzie is that in the 3rd round on he continues staying true to his board and many other teams start drafting for need, which causes many players to be overdrafted and others to fall into our laps, ie Carl Davis. What a steal!

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

yeah carl davis and maxx williams are mega steals, although i think the true steal of the 3rd round was harold and i really thought we were gonna get him, i still wished we traded up to secure him but im excited as hell about having 3 4ths and 2 5ths with all these players still on the boards. hoping we get derron smith, double dip at wr with diggs, bell, mcbride, or hardy, and get some OL depth or kyle emanuel

    4. RavensFanMania

      RavensFanMania

Not sure if you know, but I used to be a Skins fan (season ticket holder) and couldn't take it anymore. This is my first draft as a Ravens fan and what a Doozy. I've been a Ravens fan since week 8 2014.

  20. in the 3rd round, would you take ekpre-olomu, or steve nelson? i was on nelsons bandwagon but olomu's athleticism and playmaking potential is intriguing to say the least, especially in the 3rd round.

    1. Show previous comments  3 more
    2. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

olomu's even shorter and hes very lightweight, the athleticism and general cover skills are undeniable, but i am certainly worried about him getting outmuscled at the nfl level, i know he can run with just about any receiver you can name, and he has the leaping and ball skills to make the play, but im concerned with receivers just boxing him out, that is something that nelson just doesnt allow. also nelsons press ability could make him a great addition for our pass rush that may take a li...

    3. PurpleCity5

      PurpleCity5

Value kinda drops in the 3rd. Ozzie loves getting guys who fall as well and Ifo is one of those guys, tbh I'd go Ifo only because he's tech savy, he could be very useful against guys like Edelmen.

    4. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

but then again nelsons strength and press skills would keep those quick release targets in check and allow our pass rush to get there, preventing a guy like edelman from breaking open in his route causes brady to hold the ball and go through other progressions.

  21. im upset with combine so far, jaelen strong put himself way out of our range with his verticals and 40 times.

    2. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

not so sure about rashad greene, but i get your point. im not saying jaelen strong is the only option, but he is my favorite option, and he is the kind of guy that a) joe likes to throw to and B) the kind of guy that we are lacking and could benefit the team the most. that well roundedness, physicality, and all around leaping/catching ability would seriously bode well for us

    3. Tank 92

      Tank 92

I've been hoping for Strong as well, but it may just be a pipe dream like Evans was last year.

    4. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i wanted ODB more than anyone last year. but im not so sure hes a pipe dream but i think he boosted his stock big time at the combine, for him to be taken that mean that likely 4 wr's are taken by 26, and devin smith would still be a great consolation prize, and even if we dont like smith at 26 there are options we could pursue, i expect marcus peters to be there and thats an obvious score as long as he keeps his head on straight

i think if diggs is there in the 4th the ravens are going to take him without question, they avoid drafting because of potential in the high rounds, but around 4th they will take a flyer on a guy with as much potential as diggs in a heartbeat. plus they like bringing in the hometown kids
