  3. a few picks had me scratching my head in day 3, but overall we absolutely NAILED this draft, straight up home run(on paper at least) the last 2 drafts looks like the beginning of another super bowl in the near future

no no no, we want that 5th year option. Besides we won't need anymore picks as we should have 2 4th and a 5th round comp pick next year. We are already at 10 picks.

  7. board members mock drafts come in spurts, you get like 5 or 6 in the span of 2 days and then they disappear for a month. i really enjoy seeing other posters' mocks and im hoping theres one more flurry of them before the real thing

      hn68wb4

I'd like to do another but I'm swamped and I wouldn't feel comfortable without explaining the reasoning behind each of my picks. I just don't think I'll have time to put another mock together.

      JoeyFlex5

ive done way too many which is why i wont be doing another. the last mock i did i think was the THIRD time ive done a "final" mock draft and i gotta stick to it this time lol

There's been so many, it's hard to find any originality. Maybe I should do 1 more with us taking an O-Lineman in the 1st and see how people react lol.

  8. boys, that was a shellacking. lets enjoy it for 9 days and then its on to the brownies.

  9. brandon merriweather is the type of person that caused goodell to make these helmet rules that we complain about. this guy needs to be out of the league, period, he has shown repeatedly that he is nothing but a hazard to the players around him, he doesnt know how to get low, doesnt care about form, doesnt use his arms or shoulders, he just launches his helmet at opponents heads and hopes it works. he needs to be gone from this league.

      berad

Merriweather is just a poor player. You're right in that he cannot tackle, he just launches. The hit on Torrey was atrocious but it's just the latest example of disregard for other players. He's been suspended and fined before, time to up the ante.

    3. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

Well maybe you'll be happy to know he has been suspended for 2 games for the hit on Torrey.

good show, hard to get into tho since every season starts off slow and builds up towards the end, but once you get into it youre hooked. not quite as good as breaking bad, but a good show

  12. GrimCoconut, how sad are you to see devin smith go to the WR graveyard that is the jets?

  13. how will the ravens address the loss of torrey smith? i think we double dip at wr in the draft, it is now officially the biggest hole on the team

      JoeyFlex5

i think we'll be fine without ngata, we'll probably sign a steady vet to come in and play well under the radar and we have depth on the dl as well.

also im not sure aiken or brown can handle substantial roles, i dont think brown is good enough to be a 1 or 2, and trestman primarily uses 2 receivers, i think aiken has more potential but im not sold on him either. id like to see us draft phillip dorsett in the 2nd to replace torreys speed and because he is a polished route r...

Think we get Strong and Diggs

    4. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i think if diggs is there in the 4th the ravens are going to take him without question, they avoid drafting because of potential in the high rounds, but around 4th they will take a flyer on a guy with as much potential as diggs in a heartbeat. plus they like bringing in the hometown kids

  14. I am begging someone to take Landon Collins because I want him off the board by the time we pick. I don't want another reckless tackling strong safety on this team we have plenty of those already

  15. i am convinced dorsett is the best wr option for this team. a trade up for him in the 2nd would be worth it even if we had to give up our 3rd for it.

    2. ravensnick

      ravensnick

we'd be losing even more value by losing a 3rd rounder

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

if it means getting dorsett then i dont think were losing value at all. like i said i think getting dorsett in the early 2nd will have a much better impact than whoever we would get in the 2nd+3rd. wr needs to be addressed in the draft more than any other position and it isnt even close, we wont have a shot at doing that by picking at the tail end of every round, and after the mid 2nd the talent gets thin at wr, while there is good depth at many other positions such as cb and dl.

    4. glen ferguson

      glen ferguson

my first time commenting on this site. im from ontario canada and have been in love with the baltimore ravens since 2000. my take o this years draft is sliding out of the first round and getting an early second round pick to acquire phillip dorset and double up later at wr with someone like darren waller.i think this kid would be a tremendous asset in the red zone. also draft a cb with our original 2nd round pick. love tevin coleman rb too. if we can get these guys i would do it.

  16. i am slightly warming up to the mosley pick. still wondering what in gods name are we gonna about FS though.. i guess oz will pull another late july bargain on a "washed up" guy and get 2 or 3 solid years out of him, seems to be his forte when he has a hole on the roster

  19. i cringed watching that OTA video of jimmy smith.. he practically runs on his toes, how someone can suffer a lisfranc injury, have it surgically repaired, and ever have the stomach to perform on it like that in less thana year, is beyond me.

  21. i dont think ive ever been this excited about an offseason cut. this greg jennings release is the type of thing ozzie waits for every offseason, and he has always been one of my favorite wr's, hes being undervalued after playing on a scrub offense for 2 years. BRING HIM ABOARD OZZIE!

I'd prefer Dwayne Bowe over Greg Jennings. Bowe is a big receiver who can go up and get the ball, kind of like Boldin.

  22. i wonder who is going to be the first player on IR because of a hangnail or a scraped knee, so far our entire IR is actually injured, a rare feat for the ravens.

  23. if ngata is released, do the ravens start considering michael bennett at 26th? or do we move on expecting urban to recover well and step in?

We still have Deangelo Tyson as well

    3. ravensnick

      ravensnick

With Williams and Jernigan, Urban and Tyson should be more than fine and that's not even counting Kapron Lewis-Moore.

    4. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i have trouble even considering KLM as an option to be honest.

but yeah i would like to see what urban can do, but we havent seen him yet so if ngata is released then we officially have no proven commodities at DE and it should be addressed, just in case.

not saying pass up on a wr or db or rusher for bennett, but im a big fan of bennett personally and think he would be a great fit at DE for us

  24. im upset with combine so far, jaelen strong put himself way out of our range with his verticals and 40 times.

    2. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

not so sure about rashad greene, but i get your point. im not saying jaelen strong is the only option, but he is my favorite option, and he is the kind of guy that a) joe likes to throw to and B) the kind of guy that we are lacking and could benefit the team the most. that well roundedness, physicality, and all around leaping/catching ability would seriously bode well for us

    3. Tank 92

      Tank 92

I've been hoping for Strong as well, but it may just be a pipe dream like Evans was last year.

    4. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i wanted ODB more than anyone last year. but im not so sure hes a pipe dream but i think he boosted his stock big time at the combine, for him to be taken that mean that likely 4 wr's are taken by 26, and devin smith would still be a great consolation prize, and even if we dont like smith at 26 there are options we could pursue, i expect marcus peters to be there and thats an obvious score as long as he keeps his head on straight

  25. in my personal opinion, dean pees was absolutely brilliant in dialing up coverages and 4 man rushes against the steelers, he let jimmy do his thing on brown, sent the 4 man rush, and let our LB's and DB's plug every possible throwing lane, who wouldve thought playing conservative defense would be such a ballsy move

    1. Show previous comments  10 more
    2. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

ive always liked pees and i think he is brilliant for what we have on our team right now, rex or chuck are probably 2 of the top 3 DC's in the league but im not so sure they would fit our roster

    3. BmoreBird22

      BmoreBird22

I don't know, ravensdfan, I'd call a top five red zone and top 5 third down defense successful...

    4. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

I don't call the lopsided TOP in Week 1 successful. I don't call no TOs, no QB pressure, no sacks, successful. I don't call the other team scoring on 5 of 6 drives successful. Which is where the reliance on TOs comes in.
