  1. I am starting to get a little impatient and annoyed with the front office because I know Ozzie is a great GM and all, but they have had several opportunities to sign some quality defensive players and are letting them go to division rivals (Tramon Williams) I just want them to fill defensive holes and draft offense. I don't want to anticipate the draft and then have them take a pass rusher or DL or CB in the first round when they could have filled these holes better in FA. We need playmak...

just because he made bad picks at wr before doesnt mean it will continue to happen. there are plenty of guys who look to be solid and safe picks in the first 2 rounds. also, the DL will be fine, tyson and lawrence guy are better than people give them credit for and they will make our line beyond competent.

this is not a bad class for cb, not even close. this is a very good, very deep class of cb's, with plug and play guys all the way to the late 3rd round. you may thinking of safety...

but during their draft years they all had question marks. i am done arguing this because it is baffling how incredibly self assured you are that you are some kind of prophet who has been predicting every wr in every draft, and you act like back when they were prospects you were just 100% sure these 2nd round prospects would pan out and we would be feeling stupid for not taking them in the first round and bla bla bla. i cant argue with people like you because its pointless

you severely lack comprehension. you are saying all of this in hindsight, how can i make this any clearer? you act as if we should take whatever wr is left on the board regardless of other prospects. you are the guy that is adamant that WR be taken in the first or second round every draft season and have zero regard for any other position. stop acting like every wr you have named was some lock 100% slam dunk elite wr, because none of them were at the time. looking back its easy to say so, but...

gronk had serious injury concerns and was a 2nd round prospect because of it, and those injuries have actually carried on into his nfl career. everybody else you named, as peanut said, they were project picks, there was never any guarantee that they would pan out in the nfl, so like i said, hindsight 20/20 its real easy to say we messed up, when in reality we wanted to avoid drafting a bust high

not to mention demaryius thomas came from GT, a school that is known for bad nfl level wide receivers except for 2 in their entire history, DT was a long shot. we were targeting dez bryant until the cowboys shockingly traded 1 spot ahead of us. once again proving my point even further, that there were no wr's available worth the pick, youre the one who just said you arent suggesting trading up even tho dez wouldve required a bidding war with dallas.

ok ravensdfan, just to end this, tell me who you wouldve taken and what round you wouldve taken them in, in recent drafts

so what youre saying is spend our first round pick on a wr that unquestionably has 2nd round value? or do the same for any other round? youre saying reach a whole round in advance because you want a WR. like i said, last year, would you have preferred we took KB instead of mosley? or the year before should we have taken robert woods in the first? yea elam has been a bust, but once again, hindsight 20/20. your logic is flawed and you are blind if you cant realize it

like i said, if you were the gm then we would have taken stephen hill in the first round a few years back and taken kelvin benjamin over cj mosley last year, thats not how you build a winning team. what you are suggesting is horrible team management, sell the house to trade up for one wr? draft a late 2nd round talent in the first? cmon man, get real. also joe had mason, heap, boldin, pitta, torrey, and SSS, i would say they on par with brady's ol' steady guys from his dynasty years

and what are you not understanding about this? we do not blatantly ignore the position in the draft, i have said it a million times, there have been no wr's available that were worthy of the pick! hindisght 20/20 its easy to say that this 3rd round wr who surprised everyone turned out better than the 2nd round LB or DE we took was a better pick. you are not a better gm than ozzie so please stop. your arguments are seriously short sighted and all done in hindsight

they did not have top notch wr's. they had decent te's and steady wr's, which is something joe has had for most of his career as well, neither team chases the "elite" wr and the ravens and patriots have been 2 of the absolute best franchises of the past decade.

in their dynasty years they had a good qb, good running game, good defense, and good playcalling, they didnt need any WR to carry the team, and when they had one they ultimately choked away a perfect season because they didnt have a good enough defense or run game. the key is to be well rounded and balanced across the board with a good qb. i agree we need to draft a wr, but its not as if we blatantly ignore the position, thats just a ridiculous accusation

like i said, would you have taken kelvin benjamin over cj mosley? because if we were desperate for wr he would have been the only "logical" (and i use that term loosely) option.

jets have a terrible front office, its an absolute side show, you cant compare us to them, they have been picking early in the draft all but like 3 years for the past 20 something years and they have blatantly ignored wr while taking guys like vernon gholston. the ravens have not done that, they have taken the far superior players rather than reach for 2nd round wr's in the late first. apples to oranges

  18. Greg Jennings just doesn't make that much sense...hes 31 and on decline. Last time he hit 1,000 yards was in 2010. Waste of cap space when we could grab Jaelen Strong for around a mil and get more production. marlon brown and Kamar Aiken and Camp all able to do as much as Jennings could

  19. i dont think ive ever been this excited about an offseason cut. this greg jennings release is the type of thing ozzie waits for every offseason, and he has always been one of my favorite wr's, hes being undervalued after playing on a scrub offense for 2 years. BRING HIM ABOARD OZZIE!

what do you suggest we spend the cap money on? because i dont see very many options out there on the market for 4mil of our cap space other than jennings

how am i missing the big picture? the big picture is that theere have been no wr's available for us in a large majority of our picks, thats the long and short of it, we arent gonna takke a 2nd round wr in the first just because we need one, and the same goes for every other round. what do you suggest we do? not take a FA WR and then take devin smith at 26th and just assume that wr is now set for the future? this is why ur not our gm

singing greg jennings wouldnt mean we abandon wr in the draft and there is certainly no guarantee that strong is even there at 26. and no, aiken and camp are not all able to do as much as jennings, he has been on a horrible offense for the past 2 years

if we dont sign a FA WR, we wont be picking breshad perriman or nelson agholor at 26th overall if they are the top 2 remaining receivers on the board, on the flipside whether we sign a vet WR or not, a guy like jaelen strong is likely the pick if he is there at 26. youre not seeing the bigger picture in the draft history, and the bigger picture is that there are very very rarely any wr's worth the pick on the board when its our turn

well we took clayton in the first round 10 years ago, so thats 2. but anyway, we dont think signing a vet fixes everything, we settle with what we are given, we miss out wr's in the draft because we dont pick early enough, because we win, wanna know why we win? ozzie engineers a winning team with a proven winning formula
