in my personal opinion, dean pees was absolutely brilliant in dialing up coverages and 4 man rushes against the steelers, he let jimmy do his thing on brown, sent the 4 man rush, and let our LB's and DB's plug every possible throwing lane, who wouldve thought playing conservative defense would be such a ballsy move
@berad thats the whole point of pees' style and ive always sort of liked it, he plays chess while other DC's and OC's are playing checkers, he makes OC's think they have something in the bag, then he throws a surprise at you when the field shrinks inside the 25 and suddenly youre stonewalled or giving the ball away. if the zone coverage holds up and causes traffic in the throwing lanes for 3 snaps, it will work
Dean was on point, but what really helped to make it all work for me was the hitting. The players were committed to the game plan and brought it! I hope they keep it up. Ravens football! Luvit
Pees style relies on TOs. If that doesn't happen, it simply is not at all successful. That said, they weren't just lucky breaks but TOs forced by our guys. That makes me hopeful but I'm still not sold on Pees right now.
