  1. well.. at least the ravens have a better shot at being the dynasty of this decade with seattle not repeating.

  2. when will people realize that dominate is a verb and dominant is the adjective for a player who dominates? its incredible how often those words are mixed up, even analysts cant tell the difference, its pretty simple.

Resign and re-sign drive me nuts, lol. I don't get how folks don't know these are two entirely different terms! If we took all the comments at face value we would have no players on our team, because people want us to "resign" them as in let them go, lol.

i say that simply because of convenience lol. sometimes when im not feeling rushed ill throw in the hyphen to make it proper but sometimes i just say "to hell with it, they know what i mean"

but dominate and dominant isnt a matter of someone getting lazy and not typing the full term, its simply not knowing that you are spelling a word ENTIRELY wrong

Lol, yeah that is what I thought too. But when I read comments like please resign Justin Tucker, my first thought is "omg you want to let him go?" lol. I agree most folks are probably to lazy to insert the hyphen, but there is a big difference between those two words. It still drives me nuts, lol.

  3. wont happen. ngata restructures and mcphee walks.
  4. tj yeldon in the 2nd round
  5. youre talking joe flacco, tom brady, and peyton manning, compared to jay cutler, the qb who cares less about his job than anyone else in the nfl.
  6. brandon marshall possibly? isnt it floating around the rumor mill that he could potentially be cut?
  7. all of his reviews and the small sample size of evidence points to him being a smart young football mind. ive really warmed up to gase, and might i even say, i think joe flaccos ceiling is higher playing with gase than kubiak, and i dont care what anyone says, our offense goes where joe takes it, not the run game, if gase has joe playing at his max potential, then the rest of the offense will work itself out, as long as the o-line performs well enough and we stay healthy. i think if we bring gase to baltimore, we are discovering footballs next great offensive mind, the guy is only 36, his ideas are fresh, and he is a rumored "qb whisperer" type of guy.
  8. likely. alot of teams searching for an OC dont have experienced qb's or just lackluster qb play, his system may be viewed as unfriendly to inexperienced qb's. the ravens would be the type of team to overlook factors such as this, because we know we have a smart veteran qb. this sounds like a classic ravens move, teams overlooking potential because of some odd factors, and that potential lands right in our lap.
  9. ive never looked at it like this, this is a very good point. he has been exposed to so much that if we were to hire a guy like gase who would give joe a lot of input on the offense and let him call all the pre-snap reads that he wants, he has such a wide variety of playstyles that he has experienced first hand, it could help keep the playbook fresh and new so that we dont become predictable.
  10. any OC that gives joe more creative control over the offense is fine with me, joe knows what works for him better than any OC knows, and he has shown time and time again that he performs better when given the freedom to call more shots. one thing that worries me about that style of offense though, is the tendency to let the play clock run out when we start calling audibles.. why does that happen to us so often? anyway though, like i said, let joe take that extra step, theres no reason he should be held back in any way, he is a very aggressive but still very smart qb and he can manage the game or completely take it over based on what he sees from the defense, no situation is ever too big for him, so if you think youre putting too much on his plate by telling him to go out there and run the show, you would be wrong. at least thats how i feel about it, i think joe is more than ready to take on that peyton role and step on the field and be a shot caller
  11. john elway has probably bypassed the irsays in terms of hatred in baltimore. why does this team always have some huge problem to deal with and massive turnover every year? im sick of it. now hes gonna clean out the offensive coaching staff and we are gonna have to start from scratch.

agreed, the rest of baltimore might feel differently lol

I personally believe that we should feel that it worked out for the best! It brought the best franchise in Football to Baltimore! Screw the Colts! RavensNation!

The best team no matter what happens is US. We are the loyal ones. Disarray and confusion happens North on I-95 Their radio stations are limited, their jocks and fan base are typically boring.

  12. kubiak, please dont leave for denver. this team will be a contender for years and denver has 1 year of regular season dominance followed by playoff choking left in them, once peyton retires that team will be far worse than any texans team you coached.

if elway cons him into leaving with false promises of winning and consistency.. he will be up there with the irsay family in terms of baltimore hatred

  13. and i would certainly agree and im not exactly saying hes better than cary williams, just what hes shown us looks better than what we saw from cary williams, just about any player can step in and play solid and jam up some receivers for a few weeks but consistency after youre on the radar is another story.
  14. in terms of size and closing ability and toughness yes i see the similarities, but his play since he has stepped in has been much better than what we saw from cary williams, cary loved to play 10 yards off and give up slants left and right, all that size was wasted by an inability to press, melvin has been excellent in press coverage, now if he could learn to jump routes like cary williams did then he would be aforce to be reckoned with, kinda hard to jump routes though when the qb doesnt wanna throw your way.
  15. the world doesnt realize our secondary has improved by leaps and bounds, webb has returned to form and succeeded hugely in his toughest test probably of his career last saturday, and rashaan melvin has done his best jimmy smith impression, he is excellent in press ocverage, has great length and athleticism, he may be getting some big spotlight in this postseason run if he keeps it up, the secondary was the one thing holding us back from a possible super bowl run, and now the secondary is looking quite good, none of us were sold on our new secondary, until we saw what they did to the steelers passing attack, but now, we have a legitimate chance here, as long as the secondary holds up the way it has the last 2 games
  16. i dont really think its the case, i just think too much was forced on him, and if he gets the opportunity to take it slow and steadily pick up all the pieces from a small role like he has now, and expand slowly into a starting SS role maybe like by week 10 next season, then he will be ok, he doesnt seem to be the brightest at his young age, but that is the case with many players who turned into studs, some examples would be jimmy, suggs, upshaw, i think he will be fine if we allow him to continue to take it slow.
  17. he was thinking too much after playing so many different roles and being force fed too much responsibility, he has finally been allowed to settle into a position without too high of a snap count and a consistent role. that over thinking and that stress of not having the confidence of "been there, done that" affected his ability to focus, and thus affected his physical performance, such as bad form in tackling, bad angles, and trying to make up for his bad plays by trying too hard to make splash plays. he just needed to settle down, learn one position, and take it slow from there, and we are starting to see it, he played an excellent game saturday night, and i love his splash play potential, he seems to have a knack for punching the ball out, we just can never seem to recover them when he strips it. if we can beat NE and elam has another good game, then he is gonna be finally stacking good performances, that confidence, and familiarity with his new role, is going to help him improve his game by leaps and bounds. you all wrote him off too early, i was close to writing him off as well and i was one of his most avid supporters, but i still held out hope, and he is starting to show why we needed to keep hoping for him.
  18. we werent supposed to win this game, we all know what happens when we start winning playoff games that we cant win...

  19. is this the super tall guy always wearing a golf cap and a trenchcoat on the sidelines? i see him all the time and i never found out who he is..
  20. as one of elams biggest defenders... im just about ready to draw the line on him and label him a bust. never know though, he could come alive in the playoffs? he certainly does have a knack for forcing fumbles but it definitely comes at a steep price more often than not. and by the way, for my money, give me derron smith in the 3rd over any safety in this draft, he is one of the most natural ballhawks ive seen and his football IQ is at an NFL level already, in terms of being smart enough to step in and start on day 1, he is the CJ mosley of safeties and he may make it all the way to the 3rd round.
  21. 2 consecutive home games i just get handed free tickets, but this time im 8 rows from the field and get a parking pass also. score.

  22. i was at the game yesterday and man he looked good. his very first series ever, he made all 3 plays and forced the 3 and out, one of the plays he made actually caused harbs to throw a challenge flag because it looked like a pick. he was flying around out there like a mad man and he plays with some serious swagger, also, the jags WR corps is nothing to sneeze at, without question the best part of their team and with marqise lee, cecil shorts, marcedes lewis at TE and even gerhart being an excellent 3DB, those guys were the threat in that game, and melvin was one of the factors that prevented that from being the san diego game all over again. dat boy good.
  23. facebook on wednesday morning is a no-no, since everyone and their mother has to post sons of anarchy spoilers every time they watch it.

good show, hard to get into tho since every season starts off slow and builds up towards the end, but once you get into it youre hooked. not quite as good as breaking bad, but a good show

He was blatantly held for the entire second half of the the Chargers game as well. Not a big enough name to get those calls just yet.

  25. this game is looking ugly.. this team just doesnt want the playoffs.
