  1. im not sure about his blocking ability but he is a big boy, tough as nails, and extremely athletic, with great hands. he has probably the highest ceiling of the FA TE's but i feel some teams are scared off by his lack of production, but he was in arizona so i wouldnt pay any mind to that. i think he would become a premier receiving TE under flacco and trestman, i think he would make martellus bennett pale in comparison.
  2. after hearing alleged rumors of talks between the ravens and terrence knighton, im glad to announce he has signed with the redskins. didnt really want us to sign him anyway

  3. ever thought that just maybe, the ravens didnt want him back? if im interpreting the reports correctly, then the deal torrey left on the table was after last season and before th 2014 season. i could be wrong but if thats the case, its possible we offered him that money, he bet on himself and lost, and had a relatively inferior season to the one prior, and we found the contract we offered him to be too high, and out of respect, the front office just couldnt offer him what they really thought he was worth, which at this point was less than the 35mil we offered him a year prior.

@nebraska its already on the ravens fb page. comments about flaccos contract tearing the team apart are just piling up. im so glad the people on these forums arent that stupid

Hilarious that people still think it's all Flaccos fault w/ the contract. Seems A-Rod and the Packers do just fine w/ his cap hit and keeping guys like Nelson/Cobb

  5. actually, shockingly enough, we passed on nicks, he was available at our pick and we went with michael oher instead, nicks isnt the greatest wr out there but boy whatta mistake.
  6. question, is devin smith still getting first round consideration after disappointing some folks with his 40 time?

      Torrey ran a 4.36

unoffically he ran a 4.36. the unofficial times tend to be a bit flawed on capturing the exact start/stop times

  7. how will the ravens address the loss of torrey smith? i think we double dip at wr in the draft, it is now officially the biggest hole on the team

    1. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i think we'll be fine without ngata, we'll probably sign a steady vet to come in and play well under the radar and we have depth on the dl as well.

also im not sure aiken or brown can handle substantial roles, i dont think brown is good enough to be a 1 or 2, and trestman primarily uses 2 receivers, i think aiken has more potential but im not sold on him either. id like to see us draft phillip dorsett in the 2nd to replace torreys speed and because he is a polished route r...

Think we get Strong and Diggs

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i think if diggs is there in the 4th the ravens are going to take him without question, they avoid drafting because of potential in the high rounds, but around 4th they will take a flyer on a guy with as much potential as diggs in a heartbeat. plus they like bringing in the hometown kids

  8. man, we can say all we want about torrey's inconsistencies or whatever, but he has been a huge part of our history as a franchise, and he is one of the true good guys of the league, youll be missed torrey. the business side of this sucks.

Hes a true professional in every sense of the word. I'am happy for him, and his family ... Cant fault him for trying to get as much $$ as he can while he can.

the contract after the rookie deal is an NFL players pay day, not getting the most you can out of that contract could cripple a persons financial situation for the rest of their life. cutthroat business unfortunately.

  9. "thanks to flacco we have to cut the whole team, why cant he be a good sport and play for free?"
  10. lawrence guy earned himself a contract i believe, and serious consideration for the starting job if/when ngata is released, he was around the ball everytime he stepped on the field, i could see him being the next ravens gem on the DL
  11. jordan cameron doesnt seem to be looking for some huge blockbuster deal, he seems to just want out of cleveland, cant say i blame him, but i think we can outbid some folks for his services and keep it reasonable, ill bet he would love to beat up on the team that he has squandered his younger years with, and join the elite team in the division he has spent his whole career in, not to mention id be willing to bet flacco is a qb that alot of TE's are a fan of. we wont be getting some stud TE in the draft this year, lets face it, and if OD isnt back then suddenly we have a gaping hole at a position that we have leaned on for as long as we can remember. this is the draft to hit on WR and RB and the perfect year to find a FA TE, we dont have to be pressed on finding a big bodied WR if we get a guy like cameron, and we would have one of the best young TE's in the game playing with a qb who works very well with his tight ends.

  13. everybody knows about this, obviously its gonna be the first thing that comes to mind whenever you mention his name lol. there is no shame in getting beaten up by andre johnson, dude is built like johnny bones jones lol. but yea i know when he was with the titans he was one of the better cb's out there although his play never quite backed up his mouth, didnt know whether he fell off or not.
  14. a ngata release would make this possible, I wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't call it an ideal signing. Especially considering future contracts well need to sign our current players to
  15. one of the best college games i have ever seen. so epic. anyways, the first guy that suggested finnegan got negged and it was pretty much disregarded, i dont know about his production recently but at one point he was one of the top corners in the game, very scrappy of course, but he usually backed it up with good play. is he as good as he was in his time with the titans?
  16. if ngata is released, do the ravens start considering michael bennett at 26th? or do we move on expecting urban to recover well and step in?

    1. ravensnick

      ravensnick

We still have Deangelo Tyson as well

    2. ravensnick

      ravensnick

With Williams and Jernigan, Urban and Tyson should be more than fine and that's not even counting Kapron Lewis-Moore.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i have trouble even considering KLM as an option to be honest.

but yeah i would like to see what urban can do, but we havent seen him yet so if ngata is released then we officially have no proven commodities at DE and it should be addressed, just in case.

not saying pass up on a wr or db or rusher for bennett, but im a big fan of bennett personally and think he would be a great fit at DE for us

  17. if they represent an upgrade and fill a hole, and do so without bringing any baggage or a hefty cap number, than it really doesnt hurt. i havent seen any other names worth mentioning on the free agent market at RB, and the ravens have been known to give guys 1-2 year deals after long and productive careers, ricky williams, housh, steve smith, owen daniels, vonta leach, just to name a few, im not campaigning to sign one of these guys at all costs, im just putting their names in the mix because there arent many other options at the moment, and i think deangelo williams SEEMS like the type of move ozzie would make, granted he doesnt normally make that kind of move until after the draft, but i wouldnt write it off and i also dont see the harm in at least exploring the option, he still has some legs under him and can be productive, and like i said earlier, ozzie likes bringing in veterans on short deals hoping he can temporarily fill a gap for cheap, giving him more freedom in the draft.
  18. i was pierces biggest supporter for the longest time but im pretty much off that wagon now, not writing him off but he hasnt shown much since his rookie year, also im not sold on talliaferro, he just looks like a big and fast pair of pads and he hasnt shown that he can carry the load, idk if he has it all between the ears. im not saying just start throwing offers at these guys, but if they would come cheap i wouldnt see a problem with it.
  19. i dont know what these guys will be asking for in the FA market, and im not very familiar with how they play and what system they would fit in, and i know they both have injury concerns(but so did forsett) but the ability is there, without a doubt. what are your thoughts on a 1 year deal as a stopgap option if we cant address RB properly in the draft?
  20. did jason campbell retire? he always has been and always will be my favorite backup qb, his time with all of his teams were bad thanks to horrible OL play, something we dont have a problem with, campbell can make all the throws and he is a tough cookie. if i were to worry about a backup qb, thats my guy.
  21. im upset with combine so far, jaelen strong put himself way out of our range with his verticals and 40 times.

    1. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

not so sure about rashad greene, but i get your point. im not saying jaelen strong is the only option, but he is my favorite option, and he is the kind of guy that a) joe likes to throw to and B) the kind of guy that we are lacking and could benefit the team the most. that well roundedness, physicality, and all around leaping/catching ability would seriously bode well for us

    2. Tank 92

      Tank 92

I've been hoping for Strong as well, but it may just be a pipe dream like Evans was last year.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i wanted ODB more than anyone last year. but im not so sure hes a pipe dream but i think he boosted his stock big time at the combine, for him to be taken that mean that likely 4 wr's are taken by 26, and devin smith would still be a great consolation prize, and even if we dont like smith at 26 there are options we could pursue, i expect marcus peters to be there and thats an obvious score as long as he keeps his head on straight

  22. the draft is too far away

    1. juanman7

      juanman7

It's easier when you just think free agency is 2 and a half weeks away, and then when that happens the draft is only a month and three weeks away....who am I kidding it really is far away. I think the draft should be the end of March and the offseason program should move up or at least players and coaches should be allowed to train and practice together, things would be so much better.

  23. in the 3rd round, would you take ekpre-olomu, or steve nelson? i was on nelsons bandwagon but olomu's athleticism and playmaking potential is intriguing to say the least, especially in the 3rd round.

    1. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

olomu's even shorter and hes very lightweight, the athleticism and general cover skills are undeniable, but i am certainly worried about him getting outmuscled at the nfl level, i know he can run with just about any receiver you can name, and he has the leaping and ball skills to make the play, but im concerned with receivers just boxing him out, that is something that nelson just doesnt allow. also nelsons press ability could make him a great addition for our pass rush that may take a li...

    2. PurpleCity5

      PurpleCity5

Value kinda drops in the 3rd. Ozzie loves getting guys who fall as well and Ifo is one of those guys, tbh I'd go Ifo only because he's tech savy, he could be very useful against guys like Edelmen.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

but then again nelsons strength and press skills would keep those quick release targets in check and allow our pass rush to get there, preventing a guy like edelman from breaking open in his route causes brady to hold the ball and go through other progressions.

  24. lets not forget those who were clamoring for peyton manning 3 years ago. my father being one of them.
  25. agreed, i think if cobb goes elsewhere he gets #1 money and a #1 role and regresses, he will still be good because he is just a damn good player, but i think the workload he will see and demanding #1 attention from defenses will affect his production. he is definitely an elite and versatile slot weapon for teams who run 3 wide and is about as good of a #2 as you will find, but i wouldnt give him the money he is gonna be demanding so he can come here in a #1 role, its a role i just dont fully trust him in.
