I think Waller needs to prove that he can make plays before they put him into situations like that. While the guy has a lot of potential, he is still raw and has very little experience playing against NFL level talent. Guys like Gillmore and Brown, who are about as tall as Waller are guys they were rather use in those situations. Also, I think you meant to say Waller is about as fast as Torrey. Torrey ran a 4.42, Waller ran a 4.47, but Perriman ran a 4.27.

That happened from time to time, but there were a lot of PI calls because Torrey flat out beat them and the only way to stop him from getting a larger gain was to grab him.

Yeah, I know that is usually his issue. Teams bring a lot of pressure up the middle, and he'll throw off of his back foot, because he can't step into his throws. I think quicker decisions would be the best answer, but all of the above will help.

Winning in Pittsburgh would be great, but its definitely not a must win. I think most people had the Ravens going 10-6 or 11-5. In those predictions I think everyone had them losing to Denver and to Pittsburgh. Losing to Oakland was the surprising one, so they have to win a game they are expected to lose, but that doesn't have to be Pittsburgh.

Am I the only the feels like Joe overthrew Torrey on a normal basis and rarely underthrew him? I am sure it happened but I don't remember him ever having an issue with underthrowing the deep ball. His issue was always underthrowing the shorter passes. Before anyone says anything, yes I know Joe underthrew Jacoby on the famous touchdown but Joe pretty much put everything he had into that pass.

Well, according to the Sun Perriman was practicing today. i doubt he will play Sunday but I think next Thursday is a good possibility.

Aiken had over 80yds last week, I said before the season that I expect about 50yds a week out of Aiken, which would give him 800yds for the season. Not a great number but decent. If he gets 70yds this week he will still be on track to get 800yds. I said week one that I was expecting to see Camp, Forsett and Gillmore to get a lot of the passes while Aiken and Smith were being covered by Talib and Harris. Clearly that didn't happen, but last week we saw Gillmore get a bunch of passes go his way. I think we need to get the other two more involved. I was a little disappointed when i saw Camp only played 17 snaps last week. Last season he was the best receiver not named Smith and they are barely using him. And throwing to the running backs is supposed to be a staple of the Trestman offense, but we haven't seen much of it during these first two games.

Ummm. When McAlister played he was one of the best corners in the league. In 2011 Webb was second in pass coverage, after Revis, but the second ACL injury has hurt his career. Right now Jimmy Smith is one of the best corners in the league. And people have a lot of hope that Brooks will be a really good safety. He hasn't had a great safety since Reed, but there is usually a really good corner on the team.

Kind of an interesting stat. I know a lot of fans would use the criteria that their qb had the most comebacks last season, or they have had a lot since the started. I always used the argued that only proves they were behind on a normal basis, and that is also on the qb. I just find it funny that people were all about tearing Torrey a new one because he didn't get a good jump on the ball but after these past two games Joe has been everyone's main focus. That pass to Torrey was questionable to begin with and it was thrown a little too far. But Steve Smith lets a ball bounce off of his facemask and Gillmore fails to grab for a ball that is right in front of him and it gets intercepted, but that's on Flacco. Sure that second pass could have been a little longer but its a ball you need to snatch out of the air if you want to remain a starter in this league. And than last week Steve seems to have plenty of room to get his foot down to make a catch, but he steps out and that's on Joe. Some people say he shouldn't have lofted the ball in there, but that't probably how the play was drawn up. Trestman should have had Brown over there, because that's a pass designed for taller receivers. And than during the last possession Steve seemed to slow down after Flacco threw it. That seems like a weird thing to do when you need to go 80 yds in like 40 seconds. I doubt it would have been completed but with three defenders closing there's a good chance one of them would have touched Steve enough to get PI called against them.

I get what you are saying but I feel like the first few weeks of the season teams are still getting used to playing with each other, against another team. Sure practices and preseason helps but they are still feeling things out. West coast or not, its hard to start the season with two away games. Ideally I would think a week 6-7 trip right before a bye week and a week 11-12 would be best, but that's just my personal opinion.

I would get this if the defense had been great, but it hasn't been great for a few years. And its on Pees to scheme against the Raiders and the players job to execute, and both Pees and the players failed. Yes, Harbaugh gets some of the blame but nothing close to what you are saying.

The Ravens wanted their west coast games to be together, that way they would be used to the time and couldn't use the time difference as an excuse. Its hard to tell how much that hurt, but it sucks that they had to start the season on the west coast. Both trips should have been planned later in to the season, but you can't please everyone.

Yeah, its hard to call out a guy that had 150yds but he seemed to have plenty of room to get his second foot down, to score that touchdown. Look at the last pass by Flacco, Smith seems to go from running to jogging. Yes, I understand that they really didn't have time to score another touchdown but you need to try and Smith seemed to give up on his route, and that lead to an interception. Even if he didn't catch it, with that many defenders there's a good chance they would have been called for pass interference.

Exacty, but having Suggs out definitely hurt. This morning on the radio Mills brought up the fact that the game after Ray went down in 2012 the defense got killed by a Houston offense. But they were able to put things together and play better after that game. With a home game this week I think we will see a better defense but Pees needs to do something or his head will be on the chopping block at the end of the season.

There isn't anyone out there that's better than what we already have. People keep naming players but most of them had about 200yds last season, and guys like that aren't what we need right now. Teams like the Cowboys and Redskins need a receiver more than us with their number one receiver going down and the Skins haven't made a move and the Cowboys traded with the Raiders for a guy that didn't even play week one.

Didn't they have a few screen passes to Juice and one to Aiken(and he lost a yard), I even remember the commentators saying something like " passes like that are designed to slow down the pass rush, but it doesn't seem to be helping. "

Pretty much what I have been thinking since last week, when Hensley brought up the idea that he wouldn't be back until October. Between the fact that there is no tape on Perriman playing in the NFL and the Steelers have a questionable secondary that could be a big first game for him.

Shouldn't the fact that Dallas traded for a guy that Oakland didn't even play on Sunday be proof that there isn't anyone out there? They brought in a bunch of veteran guys to try out and see if they can help out while Dez is out and instead of signing any of them they decided to trade for a guy that the Raiders didn't even have part of their 45 man roster. Sure there are some big names out there but I don't think any of them will give us more than 250yds, because that's what most of them did in 2014. And we have a bunch of guys like that already, if we are signing a guy we need someone that can give us around 700yds, if not more

Jarrett Johnson is in Baltimore right now, and he was coaching intern over the summer so he knows what the defense will be doing this season. Let's see if they can convince him to come out of retirement.

First, before anyone says I am being I blind fan, I know the interception by Talib was 100% on Flacco. But lets get somethings straight. Every qb has premeditated throws, How else do you think these elite qbs are about to get rid of the ball so quickly? Most plays they usually have a good idea of where they are going with the ball. With that said, throwing blindly is always a bad idea, but sometimes you have to trust your receiver will be where he is supposed to be and some are saying Smith wasn't where he was supposed to be. Considering Flacco doesn't turn the ball over that often I don't know how he can have HUGE mistakes every game. Clearly your definition of HUGE mistakes is different than mine. But if you watch every football game I am sure, during most of them, you could find a "HUGE" mistake each qb made.

When I heard the news, while I was driving home, the DJ was saying everyone online was acting like the season was over because we lost one guy, but every post I have read has been pretty positive. I am sure they will bring in a veteran, be it Freeney or someone else, the guys on the roster now need to help pressure the qb.

I don't know, Jackson has been somewhat of a disappointment and James is a little small for a corner(probably brought in to help in special teams). Right now I would rather see Levine or Brooks out there playing corner than bringing either one of those guys back.

Am I the only one hoping for a tie? I know its unlikely, but if that doesn't happen I am rooting for the Pats.
