We're not blaming Perriman - we're blaming Oz and DaCosta Yeah, I hate it when the Ravens draft guys with potential, and he gets injured. Curse you Ozzie for letting Perriman get injured again.

He would never ever clear waivers. Can we wait to see him play before making claims like this? If he looks like a guy that has never played wide receiver before, is a team going to give up a roster spot for a guy that probably won't see the field this season?

I like the idea of Welker being a coach, but we have a former receiver as the Wide Receivers Coach. Bobby Engram was pretty good receiver for years, and when he healthy he usually had over 900yds a season. Also, he was an assistant to the offensive cooridinator for the 49ers and he was the wide receivers coach for the University of Pittsburgh before coming to Baltimore.

I know you were joking, but I don't think he left the Patriots on good terms. I don't think he would kiss Billick's butt like other people in the organization are known to do.

Am I the only one that Hemsley assumes Dumervil will be starting opposite Suggs? I know he became a starter when Suggs went down, but that's not why he is on the team. Dumervil is a pass rush specialist that only comes in during passing downs. I think his biggest competition will probably be Smith, but they might still put him at ILB just so they have the best 11 players on the field at the same time. Also, how do you not mention Justin from 98 Rock is singing karaoke with Brandon Williams.

I like the idea, but I can see players still being worried about getting hurt. I know years ago they had rookie beach flag football and Robert Edwards, a running back for the Patriots, injured his leg and was told that there was a chance that he might not walk again. He eventually returned to the NFL and played for the Dolphins for a year, and played for in the CFL for years, but it was still a serious injury that almost cost him his leg.

People have been comparing Correa to Matthews since the combine.

Having Mallett this offseason will only make this team better. Obviously it will push Joe to pick his game up, but I think it will help improve a lot of people on offense and defense. Having a qb that can run the same plays as Joe will give guys like Moore and Reynolds a chance to get to a better understanding of the offense, without playing on the first team offense. And Mallett's play should present a challenge for the second team defense, and hopefully pushing them to play better during practices.

This has very little to do with Goodell and the other higher ups in the NFL. The players and their union decided that they can't wear pads during these practices, just like the union decided to get rid of two-a-day practices. I am pretty sure they outlined what the penalties can be, and the NFL decides what practices will be cut and how much the teams will be fined.

They aren't losing any training camp days. I guess I could have worded that better, i was saying losing a few practices next week isn't bad because they are only voluntary practices. Things could have been a lot worse if they would have lost some days during training camp.

It sucks to see them lose practices for something stupid, but I guess this is the best case scenario. They are only losing 3 of their 10 voluntary practices isn't too bad, but losing some days during training camp could hurt.

This is what WR's I think make the roster: SSS, Perriman, Wallace, Aiken, Campanaro, Moore, and Butler. I think if Reynolds can make an impact on special teams he bumps Butler or Campanaro...both if the Raven's only carry six WR. I also don't know if we could hide Reynolds on the practice squad, whereas Butler & Camp would probably not get picked off by another team. Of course, maybe the rumors that the Pats wanted Reynolds are just rumors... You mean to the two players that have proved that they can play in the NFL? You have to like Reynolds' athletic ability, but the guy has no experience being receiver at any level, nevermind at the NFL level. While Butler has a similar skill set as Aiken, he's just a little faster. This doesn't mean he will ever play like Aiken, it just means they are just similar players. While Camp is a playmaker, he just can't stay healthy. Its unfortunate that him and Steve got injured during the same game. Camp was starting to get used on the offense, and his season was cut short because the Ravens couldn't afford to have two receivers out at the same time, so they put both on IR, and brought in two new guys to replace them. Right now, its ridiculous to guess which receivers will make it. And that's a good problem to have. Personally, the only locks to make the roster are(unless there is an injury) SSS, Perriman, Wallace and Aiken. And I wouldn't be surprised if Moore ends up on IR for a sprained wrist(or something like that)

I had high hopes for him last year, and pretty much everyone was saying if doesn't come back in 2015 he was probably never coming back. And from my understanding it was Pitta that decided that he didn't want to risk another injury, so I am kind of surprised he is still on the team. I would still love for him to come back, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Boykins is someone I thought the Ravens would go after when the Steelers let him walk. It's just weird to see a guy that is supposed to be one of the leagues top slot corners get dropped, to make room for an unknown guy like Richardson. I am sure Ozzie is doing his homework and asking different people before he brings Boykins in for a tryout.

He might easily be back later. Or, if he isn't, he probably didn't show enough development on the PS... We don't know - they do Yeah, i know, his name was just the name that stuck out to me. From what I read there were a lot of positive reviews and someone brought up the idea of using him the safety/linebacker hybrid position, like the guy in Arizona plays. But that might have just been someone just trying to come up with something to write during the slow part of the offseason.

This guy appears to be better than all those guys. On the surface he definitely seems to be, so I kind of have higher expectations.

The Ravens have had good luck with guys like this. Josh Wilson was an average corner in Seattle that was traded Baltimore, became a quality starter and earned a big contract in Washington. Cary Williams was signed off of the Titans squad, was a starter for two years and left to get paid a lot of money to play in Philadelphia. Corey Graham was only considered a special teams player in Chicago, but when Webb got injured Graham took over and he played an important part in the Ravens beating Denver in the playoffs. Then he left to play for Buffalo. Let's hope Powers is another average corner that can become a star in Baltimore. On a side note, I can't believe there is no mention of the Ravens releasing Marlon Brown, defensive end Nordly Capi, safety Nick Perry, and defensive back Jermaine Whitehead, to make room for Powers and draft picks Stanley, Kaufusi, and Reynolds. I know a lot of people like Brown, but I think it's time for the team to move on without him. I am actually more surprised the team let go of Perry before the preseason started.

Why would we cut him June 1st? I say you at least keep him through training camp/pre-season to see how he plays. Stanley needs to prove he can play LT at the NFL level. If he comes out and dominates, then you can cut Monroe. If he looks like hes not ready, keep Monroe at LT and move Stanley to LG for a year so he can get experienced playing time. As for Monroe donating money for cannabis research, I don't see how that should have any effect on how the Ravens evaluate his position on the roster. If given the opportunity and he plays better than Stanley, he gets the LT job. Period. I really don't believe the Ravens or the NFL in general will have some kind of vendetta against him for speaking publicly about the benefits of medical cannabis. If he was advocating everyone just go out and smoke weed, yeah, there would be a problem. However, using his position to speak about a social issue with clarity and logical arguments show intelligence and reserve that should be respected. I have no issue with the actual act of donating for research. The fact that he's been on a crusade for as long as I can remember is the issue. Every other word out of his mouth is talking about marijuana. Most will disagree but the Ravens absolutely do not want to deal with that. If you think Monroe didn't force the Ravens hand in drafting Stanley at 6, you're kidding yourself (let's not get wrapped up in Stanley as I think he's great). They had tunsil and Stanley still on the board and I guarantee they could've dropped 2-4 spots and still got one of them. But couldnt afford to miss out on Stanley with Tunsils incident. If they had faith in Monroe and thought he would be the best left tackle this year (he's still 29 and has 4-5 good years left if they believed in him) they would've taken Buckner or traded down and got another good player. You don't take a QB in the first because Flacco is 31 and just tore an ACL, do you? There's a time and a place for everything. Coming off two seasons where he was awful, (when he actually managed to touch the field) after getting paid like a top LT, would be classified under not the time or place. Leave it to the NFLPA for now and pick up the crusade after he retires (which will be very soon because if you follow him at all you know he has no love for the game is seemingly is only in it for the paycheck). 1, Yes, Monroe forced the Ravens hand, but only because the guy can't stay healthy. Yes, he looked bad most of last season, but he was good enough to keep on the team. Right now he is on his way out because its pointless to have a starting left tackle how is always on the bench. 2. We could debate all day long about what Ozzie would have done, but Ozzie will always take the best available first and the biggest need second and who's to say he didn't value both tackles higher then Buckner. And while Buckner would have probably been an upgrade over of the other defensive ends currently on the team, it wasn't a big need, while the offensive line was an area that they need to improve on this season. 3. Personally I don't think Ozzie is concerned with what Monroe is saying about legalizing weed, just as long as he passes all his drug tests and comes into camp ready to fight for a position on this team

Some say he does have a little bit of an attitude, but a lot of it had to do with money. The Steelers didn't see him as a number one receiver, so they didn't want to pay him like one(similar to what happened between the Ravens and Torrey Smith). Miami paid him a lot of money($27 million in 2 years) but he never had the stats that warranted such a large contract, so they traded him to Minnesota. The Vikings were paying him near $10 million and his stats were horrible, so they released him.

wallace has played badly on his last 2 teams, and for good enough reason that we can think it was a system thing and not of his own fault. hes a speedster, a deep threat, and one of the better ones in the league, but his last 2 qbs were noodle armed dink and dunkers. i think at the least he brings back what we lost with torrey, hes perfect for our offense as a 3rd guy. and if perriman plays solidly then we simply have too much speed on the perimeter to contain. Oh so now he's perfect for what we need. I seem to remember you calling him a one trick pony when I suggested he be sort after when was free agent after leaving Pitt. Why the change of heart? I can't speak for JoeyFlex, but his price tag has changed. Wallace is still a one trick pony, but after struggling with two teams he's not going to get top receiver money. Right now, if the price tag is right, he could add some needed speed to the receiver position.

Pitta is probably going to retire, Gillmore might not be ready for training camp and Boyle will be suspended the first 10 games. That only leaves Williams and Watson. Waller is switching to TE, so he'll be around too. Yeah, I saw that article 5 minutes after I made the comment. If he can learn to block it could be a smart move for Waller, but kind of a weird to for Harbaugh to suggest the change.

From what I read when Perriman went down, a PCL sprain can take weeks to heal, or it could be so severe that you need surgery. He might be a slow healer, or the injury might be so severe that it's taking longer to heal. Let's not forget, he reaggravated it a few weeks ago, and that really set him back.

If Steve Smith wasn't hurt I'd say no way, but with no real veteran receiver on the team, I say why not. And he can take over kickoff duties too. For some reason I like Ross handling punts.

You have a valid point, but you have to see what this guy brings to the table. If he goes out there and struggles than Ozzie is probably drafting two receivers in the first 4 few rounds. If he looks like a first round pick, than you only need one. Of course, a lot of that depends on what Smith decides to do.
