jimmie ward is a deep coverage guy and ballhawk.. FS is clearly his natural position.

11 picks in 49 games is not exactly the defenition of being a coverage and ball hawk safety.

11 picks in 4 seasons with 7 coming in 1 season meaning he had 4 in 3 seasons doesent mean a player is a ball hawk.

again he played SS in college and the 49ers drafted him to play SS since they have a hole there and just drafted a FS last year.

we are set long term with brown and mosley and both will learn from smith.

also both smith can play as  olb in coverage so i can only imagine the coverage lbers cand provide us now.

also people jimmy ward is a freaking SS.

we did not need him since elam is a SS.

they have Reid who they drafted last year who plays FS.

Unless Boldin would have stopped castillo for becoming the o-line coach and changing stuff and would stop pitta for being hurt, it would have hurt us more keeping him.

1 san fran has a much better o-line , its not even close.

2 they have a running game teams must respect.

3 they have a dual threath QB teams must respect.

4 in baltimore boldin is the top receiver, in san fran vernon davis is the receiver to stop along with crabtree later on.

there is no way boldin would have done what he did in san fran if he stayed with the ravens....

Well Matt Birk to Gino was the biggest change on O-line this year and O-line is most definitely a team effort which means that you could potentially blame one of our worst running seasons ever at least partially to him.  You can also argue that not any position is vital to a Superbowl, first time the ravens won we had one of the worst quarterbacks in the league, last season the broncos had one of the worst defences in the league.

The Ravens would have never won a championship with Mason/Flacco.  Mason was never really that great he was just all the Ravens had at the time.  Anyways I have been a fan long enough to remember when the Ravens had losing seasons like it was yesterday.  Steve Smith isn't the answer and Ozzie makes mistake signings from time to time.  I think Steve Smith is one of those mistake signings.  I doubt Steve Smith goes over 500 yards receiving this season.

I think this lost proves that Peyton really a'int that good in the playoffs. Some games he was okay. He is amazing in the regular season however. 

other then the 1st pick how much can you really put on him though.
