  1. So you and others are blaming flacco and the offense for us losing to the pats in the play offs in 2011 and 2014? after all they closed out the game with an int in 2014 and a dropped pass and missed FG in 2011. they had the chance to win the game for us on both occasions and failed. they finished terrible if im going by what you guys are saying. same with 2008 , 2009 and 2010 where we lost in the play offs due to the offense. 2010 we lost on the last drive where housh dropped a pass on 4th down on our very last drive of the game. 2009 offense scored 3 points. 2008 it was 16-14 for the steelers with 4.24 left when polamalu got a pick 6 that sealed the game. the offense finished terrible in every loss we endured in the play offs with exception of 2009 where they did not even seemed to get started lol you guys gonna be objective and admit this or can i expect some double standards and thus excuses?
  2. do people actually watch the full game or only the 4th quarter? i simply dont understand why people focus on just 1 or 2 drives and totally discard all the other drives in the game. if both the offense and defense play 10 drives and the defense allows only a FG and TD on the last 2 drives while the offense only managed to score on their last drive , people would still blame the defense for blowing a lead lol. makes no sense at all. its like 2 people working togheter and having 4 hours to finish an assignment. 1 person works hard for the first 3 hours while the other only works hard for the last hour and when they fail to make the deadline the latter is gonna blame the other person for not working hard enough that last hour lol.
  3. i take it the melvin hype train stopped dead in its tracks? jennings used to be a quality corner but he did slow down and i think he has not been the same since he got injured though. depending on how much he got left we could give him a shot.
  4. actually the lack of an quality offense has been the main reason for us falling short. 2014 is the only season where we fell short because of the defense falling apart. something with PS players starting at corner i believe. so historically the defense has carried this team to more wins then the offense. 2008-2011 we fell short tnx to the offense and lets not even address the years prior to that. 2013 was a almost historically bad year on offense and almost half the points the team gave up in the 4th where due to offense errors lol. but sure just cherry pick some games and then just neglect majority of that game and blame the defense alone for the loss....
  5. if the defense dominates for 55 minutes it should not be a 1 score game. the only way its a 1 score game is if the offense sucked for 55 minutes. that is a fundamental point you are missing. you simply cant blame a loss on 1 particular drive. both teams have numerous drives through out a game and if both the offense and defense play great , chances are you will have a comfortable lead when the 2 minute mark approaches in the 4th quarter. lets walk through those games: 2014 pats game, flacco had 2 picks which affected the outcome, owen danies had a crucial drop on perfect pass by flacco that should have been a TD and widen the score, refs blew 1 drive where pats did the ineligble receiver stuff. quite frankly we still could have won this game if flacco did not throw that last int or at least had a shot if jacoby did not decided to dance wasting time on his return prior to our last possession. not sure what 2 minute drill you are referring to TBH. charges game we where kicking FGs instead of getting touchdowns. still could have won this game since all we needed was a FG but jacoby fumbled the KR which lost us time and yardage. also did not help the coach wasted a TO on our second to last possesion cause they wanted to go for it on 4th down but then backed out of it. 1st bengals game what 2 minute drive you talking about? every drive the bengals had with possession of less then 2 min ended in a punt. also did not help that the defense was holding the bengals to FGs while the offense was punting or turning the ball over for 3/4 of the game. 2nd bengals game flacco had 0 TD and threw 2 picks but lets blame the defense lol. certainly did not help he also threw 4 incompletions on our last drive that sealed the game.... 2013 bears game you mean the game where flacco threw 2 picks and the offense only managed a FG on 5 drives in the 2nd half? the same where the ravens got the ball first in OT but failed to produce anything ? you do know 1 of the bears 2 TDs was a pick 6 right? packers game ravens defense held rodgers to 6 points in the 1st half , offense had a whopping 0 points to counter that effort. heck the offense managed just 3 points in the first 3 quarters lol. defense kept the best QB in football to 16 points in that same time span and only allowed 19 points in total. this should not have been a close game if the offense wasn't MIA through out the first 3 quarters. steelers game same story. offense managed 6 points in 3 quarters. thats 45 minutes of football where the offense was pure trash but yeah lets just blame the defense for playing bad for 2 minutes lol if the offense actually showed up for the whole game instead of just 2 drives in the 4th quarter , these games would have been won with the way the defense held up for most of the game. 2012 eagles game uhh we had the ball with 2 minutes left and failed to score. how you wanna blame this on the defense? defense forced 4 turnovers while the offense had 2. id love to hear how you can blame the defense for this 1 lol skins game we had 2 turnovers + we had the ball first in OT. worst play was the big punt return by the skins after the offense was forced to punt which set up the game winner for the skins... steelers game. what 2 min drive are you talking about? this game seemed lost because our last 3 possessions where punt , fumble , punt. dont think thats how you close out a game lol. TBH the only game where you might have a point was the 2014 chargers game. all other games it appears you are deliberately turning a blind eye to the picks flacco threw ( no surprise there), you fail to mention the lack of offense for pretty much most of the game and most don't even qualify for 2 minute offense failures lol it appears you are so delusional your mind is blocking out stuff and you appear to have no clue what 2 minute drills are.... a 7 minute drive is not a 2 minute drill.....
  6. yup. i seriously don't see why people are panicking. if this was 3 games into the regular season then yeah , i might start panicking but this is pre season lol. little to no game planning. vanilla offense and defense. coaches trying players/line ups/formations out. coaches keeping players out of the game or only limited snaps and such. the only thing i can take away from pre season is who might make the team and who might not.
  7. list all the games we lost which the sole blame lies on the 2 minute drill alone. lets see who is delusional and who isn't. im pretty confident i can look back at any game you list and find at least 1 other aspect that also contributed to a loss. im pretty sure that in most of our losses we suffered at least 1 turnover. but go ahead and just try and pin the loss on 1 particular drive, ill wait.
  8. if you knew what pre season is about why make this thread? seems to me like you are in panic mode for no apparent reason. like i said IF any of those guys i listed goes down then it might be time to panic, until then there is no reason. i see no point at all worrying about something that might or might not happen. also i seriously wonder how you can place jernigan importance on the same level as guys like flacco lol. the kid showed some promise but he hasn't done anything yet to make him irreplaceable. personally i think you are just overreacting.
  9. its pre season. nothing to worry about. lions went 4-0 in the pre season and people where talking play offs and they ended up going 0-16. pre season is designed to determine which of the fringe players are going to make the roster and who is going to get cut. its not for showing what you will be running in the regular season. both the starting offense and defense looked good so i dont think we have to panic at all. injuries are part of the game and if you cant overcome them then you dont deserve to be crowned champion. unless we loose flacco, steve smith, forsett, yanda, suggs, doom, tucker or jimmy , i dont see any reason to be worried.
  10. he is getting much and much better with his decision making every season that passes so i wont be to worried. im glad he figured out that it sometimes is better to take the few yards and an easy first down rather then bombing it downfield and hoping for the best lol. we just have to hope the o-line will give him enough time. all these injuries dont look promising at the moment.
  11. priority should be picking up the first down. dont really care if its by pass or run. just do whatever it takes to get it.
  12. confidence does not win you games or make you a good QB. you need alot more then confidence to be an NFL QB.
  13. to me penalties where the main issue. they kept drives alive although some seemed really ticky tacky....
  14. so Waller is going to be our #2 going into the season? if not you make very little sense....
  15. if the LOS is on the 20 yard line and the QB drops back to the endzone and throws it to the 30 yard line , he gets credited for a 10 yard pass but the ball traveled at least 30 yards. if the balls is on the opponents goal line and the QB drops back to his own 50 yard line and then completes a pass into the endzone , he gets credited for less then a yard passing but the ball clearly traveled over 50 yards. they are clearly 2 different things and you where clearly talking about how far the ball traveled in the air and not how many yards gained from scrimmage.
  16. yup for PR you need a special player or just save a roster spot and let webb/smity fair catch it.
  17. let me guess: he was horrible right....
  18. true pre season is pretty much getting some reps in and deciding who makes the 53 man roster.
  19. okay my mistake. i thought the bust calls where from him dropping passes in pre season games. never knew he was bad in practice as well lol
  20. you seriously putting torrey with the likes of tandon??? no idea what the guy did to deserve this but this is just ridiculous.......
  21. to get demoted he had to be a starter first ...... he was never the starter for the raiders. its hard to see things your way when you are making stuff up.... if he really was done the ravens would not have signed him. its hilarious how you try to portait yourself as a better evaluator then our FO. he clearly has enough to offer for the ravens to sign him... ow well
  22. as long as they are productive/effective teams dont care if they can do 1 or more tricks. teams rather take a 1 trick pony like torrey smith who was productive and highly effective then a real bust like DHB or stephen hill. avg 7 to 8 TDs a season is far from being a bust regardless of that player being a 1 trick pony or not. are you telling me randy moss was a bust? he wasn't an all round receiver at all but he was arguably the greatest deep threat ever. his 1 trick was using his speed to run past double coverage and then use his height to catch contested balls if defenders where able to keep up or if the ball was under thrown. he made his impact going vertical and he made teams respect his ability go go vertical at any given snap. if you think putting up stats similar to torrey would be considered a bust then well perriman pretty much got no shot being successful in your eyes lol
  23. avg 7 to 8 TD a season does not scream bust. heck 34 TDs in 4 seasons is pretty darn good
  24. lewis ran through guys and then out ran the rest. he and stover where our offense for years lol. that 2000 yard season he was epic. poor browns hahahha
