the difference in 40 time is 0.01 lol its also recorded on a track in shorts not on a football field with gear and going up against a defender..... DHB and Hill where recent examples of guys who where big and fast and not doing much. you need more then a 40 time and size to be avg in the NFL let alone be good.

so what pick do you think it will cost and how realistic does it seem that ozzie would trade that pick? right now i think the rams want at least a 2nd. dont see that happening....

hmmm so they where filming our practices? for all the praise and hype he got during practices , i rarely seen any translate to actuals games. so yeah unless they filmed our practises their isn't really much to look at. then again it would not surprise me one bit if they did lol

KO we just need someone to kneel it most of the time . PR we need someone who can catch it and dont fumble and also can make the right call to let it bounce or not. Webb/smith can handle PR duties depending from where the opponent punts and camp can handle KO duties. got enough faith in flacco and the offense that we dont have to rely on special teams to move the ball down the field.

he does not know a thing about coaching defense is my guess. their issues where defense related. the safety duo they had made elam and stewart look like all pro lol. tillman and jennings struggled with injuries and same goes for briggs. urlarcher got old and retired. peppers basically gave up and left. basically they had to rely on cutler to carry team while he is at best a good game manager with a big arm.

taylor would upgrade our run defense even more. TBH i rather have him williams and canty on run defense and let jernigan sub in on passing down like doom. this could keep jernigan fresh and hopefully less likely to get injured. i dont see him last long if he has to play major snaps like ngata did.

according to OP only the last 1/2 drives/2 minutes of a game matter. going by that criteria he is holding to judge the defense, the offense is pretty much at fault for us losing the play offs. ive tried arguing that its not really a fair criteria but most dont care lol.

ask the people that start these discussions by making threads like these.... i did not start this discussion nor did i lay blame on 1 particular unit/player. the only thing i did was: 1 trying to argue that 1drive does not define how a unit played throughout the game 2 use their own criteria against them by listing what happened in the play offs on our last drives before we lost. basically im saying that if you want to blame the defense based on a certain criteria , you must blame the offense as well based on that same criteria.

well if people stop having double standards this wont be discussion at all. you cant rip the defense and then give the offense a pass if you blame the defense for falling a part late in the game then you should rip the offense to for being just as bad late in the game as well. we pretty much got booted from the play offs everytime tnx to the offense being god awful late in the game. flacco fanboys are just silly trying to blame everyone else so their hero gets no blame whatsoever....

the thing that irks me the most is the fact that the offense has let us down way more many times in much biggers games with the game on the line. 2008 the offense gave up a pick 6 that sealed the game 2009 they scored 3 points in the entire game lol 2010 boldin drop , housh drop on 4th down. 2011 first evans drops a sure fire TD on 2nd down then offense fails to pick up 1st down with 1 yard to go then special teams misses a simple FG to tie the game. 2012 the defense made a goalline stand to win the game. 2013 missed the play offs tnx to a pretty terrible offense. 2014 had the chance to win the game but the offense turns the ball over on a game sealing INT. how can anyone cry about the defense when we had the offense doing much worse in crunch time lol. i dont even wanna go back to the prior years before flacco and harbough came on board. people need to stop the double standards by giving the offense a pass but then go and bash the defense.... you are spot on with the olb depth. its pretty much suggs , doom and upshaw at this point. i expect ozzie to look for somebody who gets to add some depth. well at least i hope . dline im not to worried since we will probably run sub/nickle packages which rely on have at most 2 dliners on the field at a time. goaline defense might be an issue this year if we get more injuries besides jernigan.

also i dont see how its fair that you blame the entire defense when they let up a score and then comeback and blame 1 guy when the offense fails to produce the game tying or go ahead score. its pretty hilarious though how you simply ignore all the play off exists we had tnx to the offense based on your criteria. you are crying about the defense giving up scores in regular season games but not 1 word on how the offense got us boosted out of the play offs on 6 out of 7 occasions.... on top of it , it was the defense that came through in the clutch to win us yet another SB based on your criteria. perhaps you should worry about the offense inability to put together game winning/game tying drives in the play offs lol. flacco threw a pass in double coverage in the play offs in the clutch and its okay when he does so but if the defense lets up a score in the same situations you get mad. double standards at its finest.....

there is this thing called a salary cap. you cant build a stacked roster. there will be some weak points and you wont have great depth everywhere. its simply not possible. or we need to get rid of guys like flacco, yanda and some more of the high priced guys if you desperately want to have a good player in every slot up to the back up slots.

im pretty sure a guy like doom comes in for 1 special thing as well. everyone knows he will be rushing the passer and it still works. brown is probably the best blitzing ILB we have and all of you fans who wants the defensive to be more aggressive should hope brown gets in on some sub packages. dude was pretty good blitzing in his rookie season as well. its that pees prefers a 4 man rush with suggs and doom on the outside and 2 big guys in the middle.

we have lots of quality players but most of them are good at 1 particular thing and not really that versatile to fit an aggressive defense. neither doom or suggs are able to cover TE in man cov and doom is pretty horrible dropping back in zone. they are also our only capable pass rushers so yeah everyone will be expecting to rush the passer lol. mosley and daryl are pretty decent in zone but im not convinced they would hold up well covering TEs by themselves. kendrick lewis is decent in zone but pretty bad in man coverage. Hill is pretty good in zone and decent man cov. i would not trust any CB besides jimmy to be on an island without a safety over the top. brandon williams is a beast against the run but im not sure he is a real pass rushing presence on the inside. canty is decent at everything good at nothing. jernigan showed promise as an inside pass rusher but he cant stay healthy at this point. our depth after these guys isn't breeding confidence lol. TBH im perfectly fine having these guys play to their strength instead of having them do stuff they are not good at for the sake of being aggressive lol. we seem to give up big plays while at time being conservative. 1 could imagine what would happen if we where aggressive lol

balanced offense and bend but don't break defense. don't think we will go heavy to 1 side on offense unless the situation in the game ask for it. defense we will stop the run and then send a 4 man rush most of the time on passing down with an occasional blitz. coverage will be looking to not give up the big pass and will rely on players making the tackle to force a stop. in the redzone we will buckle down and not give up the TD. people wont like this approach but we simply don't have the players to be aggressive on defense. unless you don't mind giving up big plays lol.

would not hurt to bring him in and see what he got left. if we are fast he could suit up for the final pre season game.

i know they wont admit it lol. they simply going to neg me and either dont reply or they will reply but come with excuses or using some double standard to justify it was still the defense fault or that missed FG has nothing to do with the offense lel. probably gonna have this deleted and ending up with a warning as well
