  1. you either give him the tools and expect him to be like brady or rodgers or you build as good as a team you can and keep him like he is and just hope the coaches dont loose the balance when calling plays. TBH its more fan driven that he has to be like rodgers. every time its: trade up for 1 of the top rookies or trade for a stud WR and go on. getting him weapons means it will take away from another position/unit which means he will have to carry a bigger burden. becarefull what you wish for cause its pretty clear that 1 day they will love you but the next day they will hate you. very few can keep their emotions in check and be objective lol.
  2. pees has a job because his defense does not fall below #12 in points given up. 12 out 32 is better then avg. last year ravens defense was #8 overall and #8 in points given up.....
  3. why are you a ravens fans? never seen you post anything positive ever lol
  4. thats not what they where talking about though. moving up a few spots rarely cost to much and we have done that quite a few times in various rounds even the 1st. its these blockbuster deals that some want us to do once in while lol.
  5. do you have any examples of where a team was better off doing such a thing? both the skins and falcons are in a pretty bad shape after doing such a thing lol. all it takes is trying something like this 1 time and have the franchise get set back for years. i cant think of a team that got better after they traded alot f picks to move up in the draft for 1 guy. if you go all in its SB or Bust.
  6. its actually pretty much his fault (well the team but you get my point) all the picks they gave up stopped the team from adressing other needs. so while they got a star WR they where left with a bad o-line , no rb and nothing they could call a defense. their top CB is the only guy who would be an improvement to our team and he would be the #2 CB lol then there is also the issue that he never really is at full health and already missed some games and also almost a full season already. so far in 4 seasons he only played 16 games 1 time. also lets not forget he has a cap hit of 12 mil this season which only will go up. its 16 mil next season !!!! Also the only reward the team has gotten so far is 2 play off appearances and 1 play off victory. you seriously want to trade all the play off appearances/victories/SB victory for a stud WR who puts up great numbers but only amounts to 1 play off victory in 4 years? in a game of 11 vs 11 : 6 good players and 5 avg ones will help you more then having 1 superstar 5 avg ones and 5 bums lol also its more of a 33 on 33
  7. Oher was a key piece on the o-line when we won the SB lol. He played the whole season @ LT and then moved to RT in the play offs and did not give up a single sack in the play offs. So far he proved his pick more then guys like julio and RG3. both of those been injured and have not really taken their teams anywhere considering what their team gave up to get them. Heck we traded down for kindle so we actually gotten a pick orso while doing that. You do know that trading up also comes with the same risk that the guy might get a freak injury and never play much at all right?
  8. True but the cap does not get turned off for the offseason lol. you can make trades that put you over the roster limit but you cant make trades or offer contracts that put you over the salary cap. i firmly believe our FO has a long term vision in which they already planned on what to when the offseason comes and how every move they make will affect years still to come. I dont see anyway we would have been able to take on Marshall 9 mil cap hit in the offseason. We traded away ngata in need of cap space lol Im pretty sure they put more value in ngata then marshall. Trades for big time players like marshall on big contracts only happen when its to a team with cap space. Ravens simply dont have the cap space to make such moves wether its off season , pre season or regular season. thats the price for being succesfull.
  9. maybe its just me but i dont understand the suggestion to trade up and thus giving up picks and such while history proofs staying put or trading down worked well for us. why would you want us to move away from what clearly has been working well?
  10. hope not. selecting the best 46 players before each game is a huge part of game planning and forming a strategy. i like it.
  11. the salary cap still counts in the offseason lol. it does not get turned off so teams can do what they like... Marshall was not an option unless he would take a massive pay cut or we would cut a bunch of players. These trades happens to teams that have cap space...
  12. this thing called a salary cap pretty much limits the things a GM can pull off with out turning the entire team upside down...
  13. so you admit it moved? cause thats the whole point. if you have your hands ready to catch a ball, you can have all the concentration and reflexes in the world , aint nothing you can do if the ball gets tipped tenths of second before you would get your hands on it. you need to see the play happen in real time and not slow motion. slow motion will leave you with the impression there was enough time to react the moment the ball got tipped. no way you call this smith choking. i rather make the argument made a last second play on the ball to save a TD. if he did not touch it , it would have been caught.
  14. might as well try them out yes. no point in not playing them. but in the end we will go as far on offense as the o-line will take us,
  15. im pretty sure that even a pinky slightly grazing a ball in flight will change its path. if i know physics , i know its nearly impossible for 1 a ball to stay on the same path after it gets in touch with any part of a human body. unless its thrown so hard is goes through that part lol you are arguing roby pinky snapped back due to velocity of the ball? you are the only person so far that argues the ball did not get tipped lol
  16. that last pass got tipped at the last second. thats why it went through his hand and hit him in the face mask. you might have a point if roby did not tip it but in this case the only way for that to be a catch would be if it by some miracle took an incredibly lucky bounce after it hit his face mask.... also that INT was not smiths fault at all. Flacco should have never thrown that pass to him. BTW talib is 1 of the top press man cov corners in the league. he is also younger and bigger then smith. there is no way smith or any other WR would win 100% of the match ups against him. it also did not help he was still getting pressed pass 5 yards...
  17. when did he choke?
  18. unless patterson cost a 5th rounder orso , there is no way ozzie will consider trading for him yup. broncos had #1 rush defense. 2 top notch pass rushers and 2 top notch CBs and some very good LBers. i seriously wonder what people where expecting with a new OC in an away game at a crazy altitude , with a not 100% RT, a back up LT, top TE out, 1st round WR out , back up RB out enz. i was not expecting a shootout so no reason to panick at all. ill start panicking if we get shut out by the raiders though
  19. yeah people dont like common sense here lol. wishfull thinking rules the day.
  20. smh with these thread
  21. hope he got something left in the tank.
  22. well monroe healthy and wagner being back to his old self would go along way. the 1 thing i would have done was use more bunch sets to cause confusing in the secondary. also if perriman is healthy use some 3 man routes sending him and waller deep with smith underneath and keep a TE and RB in to give flacco some time. also have the RB and TE chip ware/von before going to run his route. probably also spend some more time developing how to run WR screens. i imagine smith could be a beast on WR screens.
  23. you said he stared him down for 2 seconds. that should be more then enough time to figure out if the guy is open or not. you never throw into coverage because the results can be bad. you either throw it somewhere else or you throw it away. also he threw a pass that got picked and returned for a TD. its the worst thing that can happen to a QB and the offense. its down right hilarious how you try and act like that wasent his worst decision lol. aint nothing worse then throwing into coverage and have it result in a pick 6.......
  24. the pases went to the backs because there was no time to throw it to the WRs or TEs. routes take time to develop and 1 thing flacco did not have was time. if you go back and watch the replays you would see receivers open but there was simply not enough time for joe to go through his read and make the throw. the issues where more pass protection related rather then play calling. maybe should had the TE`s help or wonder why zuttah/flacco could not adjust at the LOS.
