  1. you will blame the oline when they are actually allowing no pressure and are giving the QB a clean pocket to throw the ball? that sounds really fair... PS: i like how you are trying to justify flacco throwing off his backfoot. A QB setting his feet is 1 of the most elemantry things a QB is supposed to do. No difference then a defender knowing how to tackle....
  2. contracts are touchy subject in regard to flacco lol.
  3. a 9 year pro anticipating pressure should be able to come up with a better solution then just throwing it off his back without any defender near him. so you actually want to blame ozzie because flacco is seeing ghosts?
  4. Tucker can kick from midfield. 1 deep pass to either of the WRs with a convenient PI and we are fine lol
  5. roman might also be an upgrade over castillo in the way we want our o-line to operate. injuries to yanda or stanley would spell real disaster at this point.
  6. so you think its fair to blame ozzie when flacco throws off his back foot with no pressure what so ever? cause i specifically gave that as an example of when i will criticize him. i also said i wont criticize him if he is throwing off his back foot cause a defender is in his face right off the snap. what exactly is not fair in this way of thinking?
  7. what patchwork are you talking about? QB RB TE are set. FB is not that big of an issue either and boyle should be able to fill it in. Blocking FBs should not be hard to find either. WR we have Wallace Perriman Moore and Camp for now. Camp needs to stay healthy. Moore should be better going into year 2 and the team seems to be high on him. Wallace is a vet who was pretty darn good last season. Perriman is a 1st round pick going in year 3, its about time he becomes a starter and at least be 1 of the best #2 receivers in the game. Depth could be had from FA in the form of boldin perhaps or some cuts by other teams or any TC suprises. Oline we have 3 starters returning in Stanley Yanda and Lewis. We have 3 guys with starting experience in hurst jensen and urschel. Drafted a rookie that could start right away in Siragusa. Promising guys in Nembot and Wesley according to the team. FA options like Mangold Dunlap and perhaps more when cuts are made. Nothing is set at this point but i dont see the sky falling at all. In order to find young quality players , you need to actually start playing these guys and give them a shot to show they are starters. How do you want to find a late round gem like brown if you discard them from the start. Its about time these coaches start developing these young players and its about time these young players start to develop in starting caliber/depth players.
  8. for sure man. really impressed with his answers.
  9. we get a high pick
  10. excellent read
  11. uh no. none of you agreed with me and a select few for giving the defense a pass in the past. so its pretty hypocrite to now want us to do just that for the offense....
  12. depends on the issues. if flacco still has his crappy footwork like the past 2 season then its his fault. if his footwork is poor because there is someone in his face in under a second because oliners mis their block then you can look at Ozzie and the oline coach. blaming poor player execution on the GM is anything but fair tbh. no different then blaming flacco or the GM for a receiver dropping a wide open pass with nobody around. we did in fact spend some high picks on offense the past seasons and did bring in some FA. at some point it has to pay out ( looking at perriman and maxx in particular)
  13. already making excuses and we aint even at TC.....
  14. tbh im really not worrying that much. flacco seems to play much better when he has veteran players around him with just a few inexperienced players. there will still be cuts so we might find some guys who will fit in. heck barnidge just got cut who would be an upgrade over what we have at TE for instance.
  15. mood right now :
  16. dude you make no sense. a team that wants to pass alot and focus on their TE to be the machtup nightmare will place more value on OJ then a team that wants to run the ball and use the TE more for blocking on run/pass plays and as the check down option. Scheme plays a big part in deciding the value of a player. the more a player fits what you want to do the higher the value. Just look at jimmy graham.
  17. his impact is clearly not the same if there is such a big difference in stats when on different teams while the way he plays remains the same. those stats you listed could be pretty much the difference between all pro and pro bowl. according to you he would be an all pro with the bucs and just a pro bowler here. pretty much a difference in impact.
  18. every corner in the NFL at some point got safety help. so what is exactly the issue if marlon gets that in his rookie season? even jimmy had help at times last season. if you have faith in those guys going 1 on 1 than what is the problem with a safety giving help to marlon? you plan on blitzing the safeties all the time leaving everyone else in 1 on 1? you plan on going with 0 coverage all the time? what exactly do you plan to do with the safeties if they are not supposed to provide help to anyone?
  19. yup exactly just that. with jefferson and mosley probably taking care of the middle , jimmy and marlon should force receivers to the inside and any pass over the top is for weddle/webb. all those guys are solid tacklers so i could see a lot of short gains with little yac. with jimmy and marlon press ability they could route receivers to where we want them to go. if we had bad safeties i would be second guessing this pick but we have 3 of the best so im really not that worried about big plays unless pees goes for all out blitzes all the time orso lol
  20. even when marlon is not on the field i expect a safety over the top . nothing radical about this tbh. quite frankly i expect any defender not named jimmy to get safety help if they have to cover the opponent top receiver. heck i could even see jimmy get help from time to time if has to go against guys as good as OBJ and julio tbh.
  21. im pretty sure that if humphrey get to cover any of those receivers he will get safety help over the top. if those CBs where better then him they would have gone in round 1 to and probably before him. NFL teams dont agree with you. nothing more to add to this. also nobody is denying that OJ is a very talented TE. But what makes you think that his talent would translate to being an all pro on the ravens? for someone that says he has been a ravens fan for 12 years i really wonder based on what do you think we would all of sudden have the offense that gets players to be considered an all pro?
  22. True but good thing he is on the same team as jimmy lol. If both are willing then it should cut the time it takes for humphrey to develop. i could see jimmy mentoring him and trying to get him up the speed as soon as possible. being similar is big plus in this area. also having weddle and jefferson at safety should be a huge bonus as well. im really looking forward to how this secondary will play out.
  23. good thing we have weddle , webb and jefferson lol. both webb and weddle can play the centre field role and provide help over the top. jefferson could possibly do that as well. could see the ravens press the outside receivers before passing them to the safeties giving the opponent very tight windows to fit the ball in while also disrupting any timing and giving the pass rusher a lil bit more time to get there. with the safeties we have i feel we dont have to worry about the deep ball that much unless we plan on leaving him on an island from the start. only way i see that happening is if we are again forced to send blitzes to get any kind of pressure.
