How can Webb not pass his condition test? That's crazy.
What's the problem with Webb?
It's just football. Changing his stance? I'm not buying any of that.
Odds of winning a SB are never great to begin with, but I think Joe is a great position. He's on a competitive team that keeps on winning in the trenches. Maybe with Trestman we can get some offensive stability at the coordinator position. At this EXACT point in time, I see Joe's chances of winning another SB is just as good as Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Big Ben.
The organization is the key, putting Joe in a situation to succeed and potentially win more SBs.
I certainly see Joe's chances are as good as anybody, better than most. My point is, it's not a "given".
As much as I like Joe, the odds are against him winning another SB. He, & The Ravens have already missed out on 2, maybe 3, chances to go to a SB, let alone win. Joe's got about 8 more chances (barring injuries) to win another. I don't think it's a "given".
I picked M. Williams, out of necessity. Ravens NEED him to produce.
The NFL & The Ravens are trying to separate themselves from "the old Browns". History tells us The Ravens were a "new" team, "born" in 1996. I tell this to all fans that say we stole the Browns. One problem is E. Byner in the ROH. That doesn't fit with The Ravens history.
Definitely agree with this. Ben is still good, but is beginning to look sluggish and old. All of that abuse he has taken is catching up with him. Joe is now The Man in the AFCN and will continue to improve.
I agree with some of your points Tank. I don't agree with Ben looking old and sluggish. 5000 yds & 11 wins is still top 5 QB. My opinions are based on Joe's success vs Bens in the last 4 years.
Joe hasn't passed Ben, but maybe one day.
One could argue that he has. 6-3 against the Steelers, since '11. 6 playoff wins in that time. Ben has none. Ben clearly was the better QB, '08 thru '10. But, like I said, not anymore.
Looking at Ben vs Joe 5 years down the road, I see Joe having more success. Joe's already passed Ben. Ben was better than Joe, but not anymore.
I remember last year, Ravens vs. steelers, at M&T. Phil Simms picked Rodgers, #1, Stafford #2, and Joe # 3, I think.
Good article J.E. I'm kinda rooting for the Cavs too. My wife's from Cleveland. All my
in-laws still live there. Thanksgiving dinners haven't been good. They could improve if the Cavs win.
The talk of Joe playing to 40 got a little out of hand. He just said he "hopes" to. He didn't say he thinks he can, or expects to.
Dameshek is a Ravens hater, and especially Joe. He commented on his article that "Joe has been atrocious at times". That kind of talk is not professional of a "NFL Analyst".
I doubt if Joe will be playing at 40. I'll take 7 more years, even better than the 1st 7.
I don't agree with the statement, "Joe gambled on himself & won". Joe & his agent didn't like terms of the contract. Happens all the time. Yanda, Tucker, etc. have not signed yet either. They are not gambling on themselves, are they?
I will say SB opportunities are rare. Joe & The Ravens can't waste them! Coulda- shoulda already had 4 SB appearances.
I think we fans, and the media, make too much of this stuff sometimes. To Joe, it's just football man

There is no excuse for Webb to fail the test. His job IS to run those sprints. On every play!
