I think I'm starting to realise that's going to be the problem with this team now and going forward - we've got a lot of expensive veterans that naturally get hurt more often and frankly we haven't drafted well enough to replace them.  We got a good game out of Judon today which is great but you see how bad the OL is without Yanda, how SSSr is the most reliable WR and how the pass rush is usually non existent without Sizzle & Doom.

We've got some good young players with B.Williams and Jernigan but what're the odds that at least one of them follows the money out of the door when they hit FA?

We REALLY need Perriman and Stanley to become flat out studs otherwise this type of result will be the norm soon.

  2. The blame for me for today goes to the O-line.  Even missing two starters we cannot be that poor up front on offense.  Zuttah was pushed back so bad he stood on Flacco twice? C'mon man.

I will accept that Flacco should have made more plays but that OL was putrid today.

This loss says a lot about us though - this was a BAD Jets team coming in with just one win and I'm not willing to excuse the Ravens for having most of their best players inactive through injury...

  3. First of all I am so glad we're back to football at last!  The long drought is over!

In my opinion, the key match up will be the Sammy Watkins vs. Jimmy Smith.  I am expecting Dean Pees is planning to give Jimmy help over the top to minimize Watkins big play threat.  I will always have faith in our defense to be stout against the run, especially with Sizzle fired up to get back on the field.  Tyrod is an X factor, over the past couple years we haven't been strong against mobile QBs but I'm hoping that our youth infusion mixed with maybe knowing some of Tyrod's tendencies will work out for us here.

On the offensive side of the ball it has to just be about execution.  I'd love to see Joe just spread the ball around, particularly getting some touches for Pitta, S.S.Sr and Perriman as it's their first game back at The Bank (or first game ever at home!!) after long injuries.  No Dixon at RB but Forsett, West and Buck Allen are good backs if the line can open up some holes for them.

I think we win but don't be surprised if it's a close one, I don't expect the Bills to be pushovers.  I feel we have the edge as we're at home and have so many key players coming back to the team with something to prove.  Here's to a good game and no injuries on either side!

  4. The FA have just hit Barton with a 12 game ban and a £75K fine for his violent conduct against Manchester City.

I think he should be one offence from a lifetime ban now. The guy really can't control his temper.

On another note, it's going to be weird in the Premier League next year without Drogba. Happy for him that he got to win the CL with his last competitive kick for Chelsea though.

  5. England announced their Euro 2012 squad today. I think it's a solid team but I have no idea how Hodgson left out Micah Richards. I know there are a few Liverpool fans here, but he's a better player than Glen Johnson.

I personally thought Richards was injured. I agree that he's a better overall player than Johnson but I think even better than Richards is Kyle Walker who is definitely injured.

Of course, they are all trumped by the mighty Martin Kelly. ;)

  6. You're pretty confident regarding Liverpool. If Carroll stays in form, the team should be better overall. They need another midfield play-maker in my opinion.

As another Liverpool fan I'd agree that saying they should get top four is too high. The expectation will be there but we need to see how silly season goes before we can really talk of where we should be. Carroll should have been playing a lot more this season. He looked significantly sharper from January onwards and was really up for the final few games of the season. I think we need another natural winger, especially if Kuyt returns to Feyenoord although talk is today that it won't be happening, and another striker, someone who doesn't fluff 9 of 10 chances that fall their way.

You're an Arsenal fan aren't you ER? The season ended so much better than it started for you I guess. You can thank Van Persie for that. What would you like to see them do this transfer season?

  7. I'm waiting till Match of the Day to watch the highlights. The disparity in shots on target and corners was video game-like.

It was but at the same time I didn't get the feeling that all those shots were very likely to go in. The majority were blocked by QPRs nine outfield players.

Did you happen to see Joey Barton's red card? Words escape me when trying to describe this guy at times.

  8. No Holds Barred

    The Undertaker vs. Triple H

    Winner: Triple H

What makes you think this? I don't follow the WWE at all anymore, but one thing I was always certain of was that Taker would never lose at Mania. It takes a lot away from his careers resume.

  9. Both of them are babyfaces, so this is yet another one of those infrequent face-vs-face main events that are difficult to pull off. You only see such encounters a couple of times a year, but before recently, those matches were rare since it's difficult to carry a pay-per-view on the strength of two good guys who have no reason to hate each other. The biggest risk involved in such a match is the possibility of the crowd turning permanently on one of the wrestlers, which could derail whole storylines and cause massive re-writes, which can have good and bad results.

I think WWE is booking Taker to continue the streak and go undefeated at WrestleMania for the remainder of his career. The idea is probably to have Taker retire at WrestleMania at some point.

Do you think he'll make 20 wins at WrestleMania? He is getting on now, he must be pushing 45.

  10. Oh I wouldn't have called them allies. Barret was trying to use Cena to screw Orton out of the world title, Cena played it straight. Cena and Orton hugged when they thought Cena was leaving the WWE, which was weird. It was weirder when he returned THE VERY NEXT WEEK.

    Damn, my source was bad!

Being as I live in the UK, I only ever really got the chance to go to a tour to see it live. I knew before hand that Cena didnt make it on this tour, but evidently the thousands of kids who had packed this arena didn't. The announcer shouts JOHNNNNN...

You could hear all the little kids get ready to scream, the tension was unbelievable compared to before.

    The announcer finishes BRADSHAW LAYFIELD!

Pop goes the hype. I've never quite laughed as hard as I did at how bad the kids took it.

  11. Currently, he's taking time off to nurse some nagging injuries that could likely affect his availability for WrestleMania.

He was first injured by Rey Mysterio during a 619 that broke the orbital bone in his face; to compensate, he was written off television with the explanation that he was found in a vegetative state. Kane turned face in saying he would avenge his brother and went on a manhunt for months, searching for his "brother's" attacker. This culminated in a World Heavyweight TItle win for Kane and the longest heavyweight title reign of his career.

Kane turned heel when he accused Mysterio of being his brother's attacker, when it was eventually revealed that Kane himself did it. Undertaker returned to TV by attacking Kane after a successful title defense at a pay-per-view, but he was "weakened" from the lingering after-effects of Kane's attack. This was the most vulnerable that Taker had ever been depicted in his career, not counting his time as Biker Taker.

Undertaker and Kane would feud for a couple of months, culminating in a Buried Alive match where he was written off TV again when Kane "bured" Taker with the help of The Nexus. Their involvement has yet to be explained, but could be soon if Wade Barrett does feud with Taker as expected. Taker was written off this time because of a nagging shoulder injury that eventually regressed into a torn rotator cuff.

He had surgery shortly after that match and is still recuperating, having begun physical therapy only last month. It's still hopeful that he can return, but for now, the creative writing staff is coming up with all sorts of contingency plans to work around his availability.

During Taker's absence, the company was already in the midst of a youth movement. This youth movement was recently accelerated when Rey Mysterio, John Cena and Randy Orton began to simultaneously deal with injuries.

Triple H still hasn't returned from his bicep injury, though he's expected back any day now; he's likely fully recovered but has taken extra time off to get back in shape. Triple H has also assumed more backstage and front office duties as a executive senior advisor. It's expected that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will take over the company once Vince retires or passes away since Shane had left the company a year ago to pursue outside interests.

Thanks Franny. That Mysterio-Taker match was the last one I saw, long after I stopped tuning in regularly.

I heard that Cena and Orton were allies recently, which shocked me a lot as the Cena/Orton rivalry was one of the hottest around a couple years back.

  12. I used to be really interested in WWE, but that gradually depleted until about 18 months ago when I stopped watching it altogether.

The Undertaker was far and away my favorite wrestler, could one of you guys tell me what he's up to right now? (Storyline/Rivalry/Title challenge etc.)
