I have no problem with this trade although I'm sorry to see him gone. I went to several games at FSU and saw him play often, I was impressed with him and was happy when the Ravens drafted him. I am not disappointed in his play but I expected more from him. It seemed as though he took plays off or was no into the game. It is way to early to call this trade a Win/Win situation but I believe the Ravens have done themselves well.
I've seen Matt Ryan play since his college days and in all those years I can't think of one game where he needed to win and he didn't choke. He puts up great numbers during regular season games but when the playoffs begin he is mediocre at best.
I am not sure Big Ben will retire but among the things he must consider is that he has been sacked 505 times in his NFL career and there is no telling how many times he has been hit. I'm just saying......
People can say whatever they want but Elam blew it, Hogan ran right by him. I'm 77 years old and I'm not sure Elam could cover me. I watched him play at Florida and was happy when he was drafted but I now rue that pick. If he is still on the Ravens team next year it will bge the height of stupidity.
All the previous comments are right on but I saw a lot to be optimistic about. Yes the penalties and the inability to cover the dump off passes are disturbing but the offense looked so much better. Joe was on target most of the game when given time. That 2nd half drive and the TD pass to Smith was a thing of beauty. I think the Ravens played the best team in the NFL better than most observers think. Except for the Patriots (ugh) the Birds could win the remaining schedule and finish 10-6 and into the playoffs.
I have been an avid fan of Ozzie & John from the beginning but the time has come for new leadership. The team seems to be in disarray and even on the field there is no one to turn to for leadership. I do not agree that Joe is completely to blame for the problems as he has been behind at least 6 O lines this year and we see the results. Joe needs to sit down (for the remainder of the year, if necessary) to allow his shoulder and yes his knee to heal properly. There are too many areas of the team that needs revamping that I don't need to go into. The season is lost so play out the schedule and hope for the best.
I agree with you that no more WR's are needed, particularly since the good news about Perriman's knee was broadcast. Even if he isn't ready by game 1 he should be available for most of the season barring any other problems. As for the remainder of the WR's, they can be scary.
Did any of you naysayers notice that the "Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon", Dr James Andrews, said his ACL is very stable? I think I'll go with his assessment over anyone else.
I have a problem with this decision. I believe they should honor their commitment to serve at least 3 years on active duty. The taxpayers just paid for four years of education and training.
Ryan, Have you forgotten about Jalen Ramsey? If your scenarios happen as you state Ramsey falls into the Ravens lap and there is no way they pass on him.
Allowing for no more trades, my picks for 3 thru 6 are: San Diego: Tunsil Dallas: Bosa, Elliot, Lynch Jacksonville: Bosa or Buckner Ravens: Jalen Ramsey I believe this scenario is extremely possible.
