  1. Tomlin smells his own funk. He wears the same game gear week after week. Maybe he should pick one of the 3 rivers and wash those rags. Don't forget that Terrible Towel too. it was waving around in that funk last Sunday.
  2. Feelin' good here. Ravens take down the Squeelers, then NAVY knocks off the PITT Panthers. Maryland rules this week. A lot of sad Pittsburgh fans have exited the area in the past 48 hours. The Terrible Towels are truly crying towels this week. All the Jets need to do is win Sunday and the Squeeler fans can get out those crying towels again. Rooting for the Jets this weekend.
  3. The RAVENS gave the city and the fans a belated XMAS gift. They played RAVEN football yesterday even though they still had over 100 yards of penalties. Had Upshaw been behind the ball where he is supposed to be on the snap, we would have beaten the Squeelers 27-17. Still seeing way to many discipline problems with several of our players.
  4. A great win that really perked up the town and the fan base. Ryan Mallett is a keeper and will give Joe a run for his money and that is a good thing to have going into next season. I liked the guy at Arkansas and I was hoping that he would get the chance to show what he can do. Thankfully, it was with the RAVENS and not the PATRIOTS who let him go.
  5. Jimmy Smith continues to pull one bonehead move after another. I don't see what Harbaugh sees in this guy. he is good for a couple of PI's each game no matter what. As for Upshaw lining up in the neutral zone, that is just plain asinine for a pro of his caliber. There continues to be a discipline problem with many of the team. Harbaugh makes a statement each week about it, yet it goes on week after week. All in all though a great win that came at the right time. I was really expecting a loss to better our draft position in APRIL. But, glad that we really placed the Squeelers in a bad place for their playoff chances. They were not ready for what the Ravens brought to the game.
  6. Sure hope that we see these two play this weekend or next. Picking up castoffs from other teams sure has not panned out for us this year. We should be looking to keep players that can play and not just "Ride the Pine". I for one am very interested in seeing who is actually kept after the season ends and we begin to build next years roster. I see that the Steelers have learned how to let questionable players go and get the talent that they feel fits their needs. we could learn from that approach.
  7. At some point Mallet should be put into the game. We need to see if this kid is a keeper or not. It is time to discover the value of thee players that we have picked up this season. Housecleaning should be thorough and complete at the end of this season. Time to ditch the flotsam and keep the actual talent on the team. Everyone may want to be a RAVEN, but they all need to play like a RAVEN and we are not seeing much of that lately.
  8. would like to see grey shirts, grey pants, and grey shoes with purple accents. The Black helmets would set this uniform off right. Black, grey and purple would be a great home scheme.
  9. Finally, a bright spot for the RAVENS. Glad to see these two make it this year. Koch has been shunned for far to long. Yanda making his 5th consecutive is truly a high point for this year. 2 more games and maybe the pain will begin to subside. Bring on the draft and training camp.
  10. I for one am hoping that Steve Smith comes back for another year. If he does decide to retire, then he gave us a some thrills and I wish him well in his next ventures. We need our young WR's to step up now and fill the void. Those that don't have what it takes need to move on. The team has carried no-loads for far to long.
  11. Baller, you are right about the PATS. I forgot that they seem to be in the post season so often. I always pull for the team that they play then and hope that they go down. But, you cannot overlook them no matter what. Looking forward to the day that Brady hangs it up. We will see how that works out for them then. Still cannot count at the team as long as Belicheck is the coach. Like him or hate him he is successful even if he does push the edge each year with his innovation.
  12. All of this complaining is getting old. we all know what has happened and blaming everything and everybody is repetitive. we all now the contributing factors and they are numerous. Bad officiating, injuries, lack of discipline on the field, turnovers, player talent, and questionable coaching decisions and ineffective game plans and play calling on both offense and defense. I realized back in JAN '83 when Irsay stole the Colts and took them to INDY that the NFL was not a sport any longer. It's a money making business and the fan feeds the kitty. They know it and they don't care if you are a happy fan or not. There are thousands throughout the league waiting to grab a PSL and season tickets when a fan has decided that he has had enough. Football is now just like the movies. It's entertainment. If you are not happy with it, find a new hobby. Win or lose , each week life goes on for all of us regardless. The Ravens are having a bad season and we all need to realize it happens to all teams at some point. We have won 2 SuperBowls in 12 years and made the playoffs more than any other team in that period. Relish that accomplishment. The Ravens will be back in the hunt before you know it and this year will be forgotten in the blink of an eye. That is how this fan is looking at it. I actually predicted back in AUG that Flacco would incur an injury that would sideline him for part of the season. We all know what would happen if that did occur. I also felt that a 7-9 record was in the cards after watching the pre-season games. It's called reality folks. Face it.
  13. I hope that Renner gets the chance to play enough to show that he could be a viable #2 backup to Flacco. What we have been getting from the waiver wire is nothing more than a Band-Aid fix if that. To me this season has ended at 12 games. The next 4 games mean nothing unless we lose each one and then wind up with a top 5 pick in the draft. Somehow we will probably blow that chance too.
  14. what's wrong with Tucker? His focus. Since getting married and making those Royal Farm store commercials it appears that he is having a better time off of the field. But, what the heck, it all comes down to team play and the team is not very good this year and that is the bottom line.
  15. Schaub is just being Schaub. INT's are the norm with his play. As long as he is the starter there is a good chance that we will wind up with a low draft pick. A 4-12 record seems to be looming on the horizon now. I can't see them winning another game this season. If we do happen to be playing well, count on the officials to play a big part in taking the chance to win away with those asinine calls that they are hitting us with each week now. These crews are pathetic and until the owners decide that they have had enough of this trash it will continue. Remember, it is all about the money. As long as the green keeps rolling in they will ignore all of the incompetence that we see from the Officials. It is time for the NFL front office to see a major change though. Only the owners can make that happen.
  16. With the injuries that we have seen all season, at least we get the chance to see which players are worth keeping on the roster. As for Trestman and his game plans, hopefully, he will be elsewhere next season. But, that won't happen. We will keep him and blame all of the failures of the offense on the injuries that we have had to deal with this year. The same can be said about Pees and his D-schemes. To me the Secondary is the Achilles heel of the Ravens this year. We really need to see some improvement back there for the team to make a positive turn around.
  17. The BROWNS are now on the same path that the RAVENS have been on all year. This team seems to be snake bitten. The front office can't get it right with any of their acquisitions or draft selections. Anyone who takes on the job of Head Coach has a deck stacked against himself. As long as the city continues to blackball Art Modell from getting into the HOF, they deserve their bad karma as I see it. They need to get over the loss of the team because their elected officials would not do the right thing to keep the team in Cleveland. Like they say, "what goes around , comes around".
  18. Trestman and Peas!! Time to replace both of these failures once the season is over. The team needs new ideas and direction in both areas. Never did figure why we went with Trestman and still can't. Cameron was even better to a degree.
  19. No surprise. Johnny Football should change his name to "Johnny HIGHBALL". Since he loves to party so much that tag is more fitting. The guy is a joke anyway. All media hype and not very much more. Glad that Cleveland has to deal with him. Very fitting for a town that keeps blackballing Art Modell from getting into the HOF each year. They deserve their bad Karma for sure.
  20. Dysert could be a bit of a gem in the rough. At this point it could be a wise move to look him over at length. We have a done a heck of a lot worse with QB's in past years.
  21. Clausen had a good college career at ND. It appeared that he could make the transition to the NFL. He does seem to be a bit trigger happy since coming to the NFL. If they can settle him down some that could be a plus, But, it is very hard to change old habits once the pressure is on. He'll do for the next 6 weeks though and that is what we need for now. I would like to see us give Renner another shot. He has potential and we have seen that already.
  22. Top 5 draft pick looks even better now. At any rate, the RAVENS need a lot of good players to join this team. We can now see what all of our real needs are. It will be very interesting to watch how we do during the off season. It is definitely rebuilding time now for the RAVENS.
  23. Asa Jackson gone again. Shut the door for good on this guy please. 3 new signings that need to step up and not be like those that they replaced or they will be gone just as fast. Have to give it to the club though. They are still trying to find a fix and turn this around to some degree. It's getting harder to watch them each week now. I actually hate getting to the last 2-3 minutes of each game now.
  24. Let's hope that he is ready to play next year. I sure hope that he doesn't turn out to be one more bust as a player.
  25. My 5 thoughts are all unprintable. Disgusting and disappointing just don't seem to describe my feelings on the team's play week after week. A complete overhaul is now needed. Coaches included. OC and DC are terrible. Scouting is also a concern as I see it.
