  1. Special Teams players are trying so hard to shine that they seem to be forgetting to think before getting to aggressive trying to make the big play. They will return to form this weekend though you can count on that. Fundamentals seem to be the first thing that goes when it goes downhill.
  2. Seeing is believing. Biilick's weakness was his inability to find the right QB. Harbaugh's weakness is finding the right OC. I sure hope that this one can add the spark at game time.
  3. The RAVENS used to be able to play catch-up football with great success. They had the talent then. We have been told that we have the talent now as well. Yet, on Sundays we see different. Way to many dropped balls as well as those that seem to be overthrown. Receivers seem to be more focused on YAC than on just seeing the ball into their hands before making the next move. This is fundamental and is taught and learned at the Pop Warner level. Maybe our WR and TE coaches needs to get back to that level with some of our guys. It looks that way to this spectator.
  4. Flacco needs to be a more aggressive player and take charge of the offense when he see plays being called by the OC are not working, Great QB's have the ability and the guts to do that. Many come to mind when I think of this talent. Joe sticks with the game plan even when he knows that it is a futile effort and that is on him as I see it. He needs to step up now more than ever. He is the field general on offense and it falls on him as much as it does on the OC. On another note. The O line faces the top rated D every day in practice. They obviously cannot move the ball on that group. They are not able to move it against lesser rated Defenses and our losses are proof of that fact. When they discover this in game situations it is almost to late to get it corrected if it is at all possible. That needs immediate attention if they are going to improve and correct the offensive game plan. It's a lot more involved than just replacing an OC. We have been down this road several times now and keep finding ourselves right back in the same situation time and again.
  5. Someone made the remark that things have gone south since Lewis, Reed and even Krueger have left. I agree that has some merit. We get a OC that fits and is productive and he leaves for greener pastures. We have a become a training facility for OC and DC coaches. That needs to be addressed if you want to keep any consistency. Next man up does not work as well as Harbs thinks does it? The guy that just moved up is under the gun and so is Harbs if this one goes south. Either way it is time to hear the fans. We are tired of the SOS that we hear each week . Pittsburgh seems to get back in the hunt quickly after they hit a down spiral. Ravens need to do the same. No Steeler fan here, but they do know how to recover in a short amount of time.
  6. Seen this movie before haven't we? Still see an 8-8 record and that may be a little too optimistic with who we have left on the schedule. The team needs to work on plays that get the RB outside the tackles a bit more. Tired of seeing them run into the backs of lineman for a yard or two. With game plans like that at some point you are forced to go to the pass as the last resort and we all see how that works out weekly. Tired of excuses. Just fix the darn problem and WIN.
  7. Perriman couldn't catch the FLU. This guys continues to fall short of all expectations. Firing Trestman surely will not change his ability one iota. A song from the '80s comes to mind. "Don't pay The Perriman". Oops that was "Don't pay the Ferryman" wasn't it? At any rate he sure is not worth what he is getting paid.
  8. Trestman should have see this coming. Losing one's job is tough for sure, but you have to be able to produce if you expect to keep that job. He didn't so on he goes. Have to say that Harbaugh should be next if he can't control what his coaching staff is supposed to be doing. He talks about the team, the team. It is up to him to make that group one and he is falling short himself. I cannot see Steve Bisciotti accepting another losing year with the talent that we have. Some more heads will roll if things do not improve quickly.
  9. One other issue that really get sunder my skin. Jimmy Smith is no DB. The guy is never in position to paly the ball. He is always trying to catch up on pass plays. How can he be considered a starter? Surely, we have at least one DB that can cover much better than this guy. It's time to move on from the Jimmy Smith experiment. He doesn't have the required skills to play in the NFL at the level that is required. Maybe the Browns could use him.
  10. it looks like the team is enjoying a luxury that is about to disappear once the schedule toughens in the next few weeks. Trestman's lack of a legit running game is going to come to play in several losses as the season progresses. Flacco cannot afford to have games where he just hits a wall and cannot move the ball downfield. He lacks that special touch on passes that need it. The guys has a strong arm and that is what we like about him, but touch is also needed at times to ensure the completion rate is what is needed to win games. Perriman is beginning to show just what he seemed to do in college and that is begin to run before the ball is caught and tucked away. I still believe that an 8-8 season is very likely. I hope that I am wrong though.
  11. Ugly wins are wins no matter what and wins are all that matters in late DEC. I am not impressed with the overall end score. But, we have to keep working at getting to play as a team and on execution. Not very impressed with Trestman's game plans either. RB's continue to run into backs of linemen when they could cut outside for gains in many cases. I hate reading Mike Preston's Monday articles, but he is right most of the time about team play. Just hoping there is improvement each week. If not, an 8-8 season looks about right
  12. Camp has not even started yet and we have our first injury of note in Perriman. I hoped that I would be wrong, but I kind of felt that he was going down again this year before he even got started. Just a big disappointment either way. We can't seem to draft WR's that are durable enough to make it into a full season.
  13. we can't even begin to realize the worth of this guy since he has yet to get on the field in a game. I just hope that he is not another Dan Cody who stayed around for years and never did play a game for the Ravens. Seems we have a knack for picking this type of player who seems snake bitten.
  14. This tragedy shows that anyone riding any type of motorcycle needs to be wearing a helmet. Riding at night without lights and in dark clothes played a big part in this sad event too. I am sorry for the loss of this young man and can feel for the family and their grief at this time. One bad choice and one terrible loss of a young promising life. Very sad to say the least.
  15. A tragedy for the family and the team. They say that only the good die young and this kind of makes you agree to that old adage.
  16. This one looks great on paper, But, I will hold my comments until we se the fruit of his efforts. We have been down this path to many times to get all spun up about "what he brings to the team". It may just be one more WR that Flacco overthrows to.
  17. Will never understand why these guys just don't get it. Are they really this ignorant of what the penalty is for drug use? They deserve what they get and should be cut for repeated offenses. They let themselves, the team and the fan base down. To me they deserve no respect or sympathy for their repeated stupidity. Go to work at some place that hires drug addicts. Maybe you can be an All Pro there.
  18. Lewis is the ultimate motivator period. No comparison with Manning and the situation that he is in. He should retire and go out on top. Hanging around, sitting on the bench just doesn't fit his competitive spirit. It will be interesting to see how free agency actually effects the Broncos in this off season. That can be a huge factor in their chance to repeat. Manning will be looking at that as he contemplates retiring or being a backup QB for another year or 2. His ability at his age has to be a major concern for him at this point in his career.
  19. DB or Pass Rusher is a must on the first pick. The cost to trade up just a few selections may be a little to high. We definitely need to restock our defense with quality players. It is very obvious as to where those needs are.
  20. Ted was the catalyst for the RAVENS Super Bowl run in 2000. Billick had a team ready to surge when he replaced Ted. Ted has been linked to Baltimore in several ways. The first was when the Steelers decided to keep him as one of their QB's and let Unitas go. We all know how that story ended. He did a great job being the HC with the Colts back in the 70's as well. The RAVENS first HC and he helped lay the foundation for the team that we are all now so proud of. Rest in Peace Ted.
  21. Poor old Hue. He better be a miracle worker up there. A short tenure is more than likely in his future there. I cannot understand why any coach would want to step into that role in that city. Money drives it all, but at some point getting fired from multiple HC jobs will doom your future in the NFL.
  22. Harbaugh does not want Reed or Lewis anywhere near HIS Locker room. He was not very happy when they were here as players and had the respect and control that they had back then. Actually, he was relieved when they both left. It is now his way or the Highway as they say. Reed should do well once he knows his place in the coaching hierarchy. He will have some growing pains up in Buffalo, but Ryan should realize his value and be able to deal with his outspoken style. Ryan and Reed are of the same cloth to a degree. He is a good fit for Ryan and his team. He would not have had a fair chance here even if they did hire him as I see it. At ant rate, we should be looking for replacement Secondary coach sometime this year, if we see they same thing again in Training Camp. Once we clean out the fodder back there and can rely on those coming back from injury, we will see what we really need in that area.
  23. Typical we are good and will get through this together. Just what I expected. Smoke and Mirrors. Unity has to be shown by the org. management. You can bet that things will be happening in the off season to get back to what is expected from the team on the field. But, losing key coaches year after year is not going to help the cause. Through the years I have seen this play a large part in the overall chemistry on the team. The RAVENS organization seems to be the training ground for NFL coaches and even the Scouting Dept for that matter. Just add up those losses since 2005. Most of us would be very surprised after seeing the list and who is actually on it.
  24. Campanaro is a gamer. If he doesn't make it here, I sure hope that some other team gives the guy a shot. He has the drive and the attitude to make it in the NFL if he can get a shot. I don't buy that crap about him being to small either.
  25. Good news for sure. Hopefully, we can get him to the SB. Now that would be one fantastic turn around for the team.
