Figured it's worth taking a shot on Joe Williams here.  Some obvious concerns with him getting kicked out of UConn and then "retiring" on Utah, but DJ says he was dealing with a seriously family matter for the latter.  There's a lot of talent there though so as a UDFA, no worries.

I think that Williams is well worth it here. He did benefit from the OL play, but he was putting up outlandish numbers, almost 200 rushing yards per game after the return from the brief retirement. He was on my list of targets for what it's worth.

He has potential but plummeted down draft boards.  Not sure if based on an incident or poor showings

I personally thought that he was difficult to evaluate given the production, but a great deal of the blame falls squarely on the QB play. LSU was responsible for a paltry 2,281 passing yards and 12 TDs, so it was one of those tricky situation where blame appropriation made it difficult to assess the individual prospects. Dupre did run a rock solid time at the pro day given his measurements, and the vertical and broad jump numbers were outstanding. I think he's a great acquisition at this point, and I was strongly considering him during my last signing, but I have no idea where he'll go in the actual draft.

  3. The signings are in. Liked what I've seen out of Nickerson Jr. these past two seasons. I was considering drafting him in the 6th or 7th weeks ago, but I watched his performance against Michigan where he was a relative non-factor and it soured me on the idea. Happy to have him at this point. He does remind me somewhat of an Avery Williamson type. Dillard, while being named the Sunbelt Defensive Player of the Year, is almost certainly unknown to most. But he was one of the most productive pass rushers in the nation on a per snap basis, and he released an almost hour long highlight reel from his 2016 season which impressed me. The arsenal wasn't short on tricks, with everything from the dip and rip to the stab and grab and even the hump. The pass rushing principles were also solid with respect to leverage, hip fluidity and attacking the half man. I feel like he might make the roster somewhere if he's given a chance.

  4. I'm taking Jahad Thomas here earlier than expected. He's not the highest ranked RB on the board, and he sometimes struggles with breaking through the first level, but his set up on open field moves is outright filthy. He uses his entire body to misdirect defenders, including head fakes. He caught my eye last season and I feel like he could be a solid contributor. I'd advise checking out his highlight video (Link) for anyone interested.
