It's a weird feeling to wonder why somebody's tail pipe is smoking and then realizing that it's coming from under your hood. The engine overheated so I had to make an unscheduled pit stop. Anyways, the pick is in. It was a difficult decision between several candidates, but Phillips Adams displayed too much upside last season to be looked over. A player who's very physical at the LOS, with an ability locate the ball and attack the pigskin in 50-50 situations, a skill he developed while playing basketball in High School, Adams has the makings of a solid CB. He plays with good awareness of his responsibilities and was arguably Oakland's best CB last season. He hasn't been tested much, but also hasn't given up a QB rating higher than 53.9 in two seasons. Turning 25 this summer, his best ball is likely ahead of him, as long as he can remain healthy. He'll be able to step right in and man the Nickle duties.
