He sounds like a Guard, hope he can support the tackle situation. Center may be a stretch. Not all lineman can play center thats for sure.
I am not real high on moving Alex, but if he can transition to Tackle without costing the level of play he brings at Guard then hopefully its worth it. Some feel its the way to go, but weakening his positions is not a good approach.
Certainly Yanda can move to tackle he has done it before, Again i am not high on that move either. I like Yanda and Lewis as our Guards.
You do realize Alex Lewis was a tackle in college right
Very disappointing to get siragusa over banner, guess Alex Lewis is going back to RT!
Right position, wrong player. Immense athletic potential, not a lot of technique. Ryan Anderson or Demarcus walker would have been better picks, or ya know, go juju. With pocic off the board now joe is gonna be hurting next year
I applaud that the Ravens finally wised up and took a CB high in the draft. I see a lot negative posts about the guy here and don't know a thing about him yet. I will say we have to wait until his first game (not mini-camp or training camp where Harbaugh will gush about his practice being the next Deion Sanders). You will know almost immediately in those first couple games if he can really cover or not. Watch him on another team's #1 WR and we'll know what we have then.
Well Gene since you haven't seen him play, all you need to know - 18 yards per catch allowed in college and nearly 50% of the balls thrown his way were caught. He plays a great press but if they get past the line they're going to burn him, we are going to see a lot of the back of this guys jersey...
all we need now is Ben Boulwere in the third and our D is #1 next year pass rushers lol we don't need no stinking pass rushers Judon Suggs KC and Smith will do great BW and MP clogging up the middle with BK and BU on the end and CD and WH comping at the bits for playing time think about it this way with the secondary we now have we will have at least 3-6 seconds every pass play and we will have over 50 sacks next year you heard it hear first next two picks need to be O-line which should be BPA unless JU-JU falls to us somehow good day one of the draft
Over 50 sacks? Wow, I'll have the Kool aid he's having! If Suggs hits 8 again we are extremely lucky, even if judon makes a big leap you're looking st maybe 6-8, correa has shown no ability whatsoever, zadarius smith and Brent urban have shown very little ability, and kaufausi wont do much on his own. Unless we bit on a player in the second or third we will be bottom quarter of the league again both in sacks and pass rush
I'm scratching my head about this pick, but I'm hoping it pans out extremely well. I thought our biggest issue was a lack of talent on D-line. Last season our d-line was about as non-factor as it's ever been in our team history.
Is this a joke?
Why would it be a joke our best d linemen only notched 5 sacks almost completely in the first half of the year and he's gone. Our d line couldn't get pressure on a 50 year old drew Bledsoe it's pathetic
Bills got a better corner at 27 than we did at 16. Sad
Ozzie's alabama bias burns us again. It's honestly time for him to hang it up, everybody being homers talking about how great of a pick this is do me a favor and go back and watch him get absolutely abused by Mike Williams. Very doubtful he starts this year and he will never be more than a #2 corner. Awful value in a deep corner class.
The Ravens have struggles with picks like Maxx, Carl Davis, Jernigan, Crockett, and Brandon Williams? I think those are some pretty good picks.
How??????? Max has made virtually no contribution in two years as a mid second round pick, Carl Davis has made virtually no contribution in two years as a high 3rd round pick, Crockett has a ton of talent but has spent more time in the training room than on the field, and Jernigan had an extremely inconsistent motor and never truly fit our scheme.
hahaha ummmm so If Im reading this correctly and I'd like to think I am It sounds as if the Ravens will not be retaining any of their top soon to be free agents while also cutting some of their better players in order to create cap space and void bad deals. Soooooooo the good news is coming in the afternoon right ???
Depends what you call better plays. Webb got tore up bad last year, I'm sick of hearing about how great Pitta was for catching 80 balls last year - we threw it like 600 times and he has become a safety blanket for joe in a bad way. Instead of reading his progressions downfield he's way to quick to dump it to dennis for 5 yards. Doom's salary cap number is too high and he needs to go to a contender, this team needs a lot of work. The fact Zuttah went to the pro bowl as however much of an alternate is a joke. The only player on that list that needs to come back is Wallace
Wish we would cut Pitta. Huge cap number and it would keep joe from being captain checkdown quite as much. With pitta on the field he's much faster to just dump it off instead of reading through his progressions
Can't believe we haven't made any cuts to free up cap yet. Wagner isn't nearly as good as his PFF grade and gets bullied a lot, shouldn't be hard to find a serviceable veteran stopgap with this draft class being so poor at tackle. Doug Free comes to mind.
I love brandon williams, home town guy, great success story, but at the end of the day 10m a year for a 2 down player is not a good investment. I don't think Pierce is the answer but you can usually pick up a big boy nose in the later rounds.
Juscyk is fun to watch but we really don't utilize him properly. If we were to pay the $4m or so a year it would take to bring him back we would really need to utilize him in multiple roles better.
Hope to see us make an early push to lock up mangold, would make a huge difference right away and there's no other good options in the draft or FA.
If we were able to trim the fat on our roster to open up cap space and sign Bmarsh, Mangold, and doug free as stopgaps up front that would really open us up to draft defense heavy this year which is what needs to happen as deep as this class is on that side of the ball
was a garbage pick at the time and it's not come full circle. the list of wasted 1st and 2nd round picks in recent years is staggering
Peppers is a freak athlete but not an elite talent position wise, solid at several positions and a master of none. Way too boom/bust to take at 16
Many believe he could be a Weddle like talent and could slip to the second.
if peppers were to slide past the first 7 or 8 teams at the top of the second if pounce on getting him. He will be a chess piece worth having.
agreed, in the second - no way at pick 16 though
1. Jabrill Peppers/top tier CB 2. Adoree Jackson BEST CASE SCENARIO
WR in the first round is nails on a chalk board. Let's not forget Flacco is throwing the ball (Mr. pseudo-elite himself).
With Peppers and/or Jackson we address arguably our two biggest needs SECONDARY and PR/KR.
If we do anything but DB or Pass Rusher in the first round I will be sorely disappointed.

Being from Beirut Lebanon... I don't really get to see College Football as much as NFL...(bought nfl ticket) in alllllll honesty(not your preferred pick) who is the best DB in the draft? Best WR? Best Passrusher? Best OL?.. to have an idea
DB is up in the air but probably between jamaal adams, malik hooker, sydney jones and tredavious white
WR - Mike Williams
Pass Rusher - Myles Garrett
OL - Ramscyzk
Cut all of them, give webb a shot at a paycut first. Mangold may be a cap casualty from the jets, could possibly get him cheap as a 1-2 year stopgap at center, pickup a cheap but still effective right tackle like doug free for the year as well, wagner is flat out not worth 7-8m a year he's too weak of a run blocker.
Re-sign brandon williams and use the rest of that money to go after a bigger WR (brandon marshall if he gets cut) or DB (jefferson at safety or logan ryan/aj bouje at corner)
That would free us up to go defense heavy the first 2 to 3 rounds of the draft. Pass rusher/DB in either order depending how the board falls then around 3rd round can start looking for help at inside linebacker, a developmental center or tackle, kick returner, more developmental pass rushers, etc.
@billie jean actually brady has restructured to create more cap room for the pats multiple times
I've got another great idea. How about we draft somebody with our #2 and #3 picks who can actually play.
The KC pick til this day still puzzles me because there was so many other more talented players than him left, but besides that, Bronson had an unforseeable injury.
In 15' we took the best TE in the draft and a run stuffing DT who had a top 50 grade on him.
In 14' we took Jernigan who was a beast at FSU and Gilmore who was over drafted, but outside of that, most recent picks weren't initially as terrible as many people make them up to be.
In 13' Art Brown looked like a legit talent and just never panned out and Williams has been arguably the best run stuffing NT in the league.
Dude c'mon don't be a homer... Our draft success in recent years has been poor at best and our ability to retain players has been even worse. Max Williams and Carl Davis has been bums, Correa and Kaufasi were not smart picks regardless of bronson's injury. The entire 2015 draft class will be off the team before long, heck only 3 players are on our roster combined from the 2009-2012 drafts and depending on how free agency pans out we may only have 1-2 left from the 2013 draft. This isn't a new issue, our draft success has gone down the toilet
This is the best DB and pass rushing class in the past 5+ years.. We need to get some stopgaps on O in free agency (ton of o line cuts coming that can get us through at C and RT for the year) and draft heavy on defense while we have the opportunity. Second rounders at those positions this year would be top 15-20 picks most other classes. We can't afford to miss on so many high picks this year.
Kamar should have gotten way more reps this year than he did. When we're throwing 50-60 times a game there's no way we couldn't have worked him in to the rotation more
Yaaaaay more mediocrity and 50 pass games
Season over this team is on the verge of being in shambles... holes all over the roster, extremely poor draft record over the past several years, and our salary cap distribution is horrible. We have a lot of players with a ton of heart keeping the games halfway competitive but we need to completely re-vamp the offensive line as well as several other position groups

Always at least 1 UDFA to make the roster.. this year I think it could be as many as 3-4! Ortiz at fullback, Bam at ILB, and Tim White as a return man
