  1. We see coaches we hate to see go, do so. When you have good coaches, that's what happens. We had to see the likes of Marvin Lewis, Jake Del Rio, Mike Smith, Rex Ryan, Pagano, Teryl Austin, Kubiak leave us for better positions over the years. This is a testament to the quality coach selection and training the Ravens have. I hope this really bad season somewhat hid the fact that Trestman did a really good job, and so he will not have HC interviews...

I agree but what does that say about Pees nobody ever wants him.

  2. Am I the only fan who doesn't want a rebound? 1st pick in the 1st and 2nd rounds could completely change our team.

I agree with you! If we are not going to make the playoffs why rebound? I would much rather have very high draft picks. The only 2 games left I want us to win are the Steelers and Bengals games b/c of the rivalry. High draft picks are more important than a widow dressing record.

  3. What's the alternative?

Lets say you decide Joe sucks and only offer him like $12M a year, well below what most teams in the league who don't have a QB would pay him. He declines, and you cut him...

Who's the starting QB for this team then? You going to go back to the baron wasteland that is college for another QB? College teams are going out of their way to get guys who can't throw. Those Andrew Luck guys are generational players who don't grow on trees. If you really hit it out of the park, you'd get a Jameis Winston, who is absolutely nothing special at the QB position and isn't and probably will never be as good as Joe.

Basically, you'll be the Cleveland Browns. You'll spend the next decade drafting QB after QB, trying to find somebody who is at least somewhat as good as the guy you let go (Flacco), and it won't work out. Because in this league, if you don't have a QB, you got nothing.

The cost of not having a franchise QB on your team is ENORMOUS. Its far more costly than $20M a year or whatever Joe gets now or is going to get in the future.

In what has become comically ironic in my opinion... fans are basically saying that Joe is being "selfish" by not taking less, yet the fans demanding that he does are also, in fact, being "selfish". They try to convince themselves that they are not being claiming the BS of "well the team as a whole is better", which is great and cute and all, except the only thing YOU, as the fan, care about is you feeling good about winning football games.

Therefore, fans advocating that Joe take less are ultimately doing so in order for THEMSELVES to feel better. What that is, simply put, is selfish.

Obviously the biggest comical concept of this whole thing is fans will 100% advocate that players do something that no person who has ever posted on this board would EVER do themselves in real life. No person here would ever voluntarily ask their employer to pay them less just so the company can make more money and so their colleagues can make more money.

Oh Ok, so the 'cost' you talk about is in terms of wins and losses not monetary cost. Well I guess an argument can be made on both sides of this regarding wins and losses. That could largely depend on who Ravens draft or what free agent they bring in. Seattle won early with young R. Wilson and the Ravens themseleves were a playoff team with a rookie Flacco and Denver did not do bad signing Manning, so this thinking that we have to have Joe no matter what the cost (monetary) is not true. If Joe was the kind of QB that could carry a team then maybe but Joe has to have real good players around him to succeed and in order to get that he needs to renegotiate that huge contract.

  4. And I don't think this is as much Pees' fault on the D as it is with the FO. The players are just not cutting the mustard. No fight, no heart, no composure. You can't weave gold from straw. We're playing for draft picks and pride at this point, and we're only 5 games into the season. It's that obvious.

No disrespect but comments like this is why the Pees is still here and the fans are pointing the finger at the FO instead of Pees unbielievable! The Ravens give up 4th quarter leads in 4 of 5 losses and people still don't blame Pees what is it going to take?!!

  5. With the season on the line the team did not come out with a sense of urgency. Even facing an old back up QB the only reason we won the game was Pitts bad coaching decisions and horrible kicker. Trestman has to learn that he needs to have a run 1st offense, Joe is not Manning or Brady he needs a strong running game. As for Pees...he needs to jump off a tall bridge (just joking) but he has got to go.

  6. As much as Ravens nation negs anyone that doesn't scream "In O we Trust", the facts are the facts. Is it really the coaches fault or is it a lack of talent provided. This team fight, plays hard, keeps , games close but the final moments of games are usually determine by players who can make plays. Ravens don't have enough of them to close the deal.

Sorry I have to disagree with you there, this team has a lot of talent more than most teams in fact. There is a reason why the Ravens were preseason favorites to make the playoffs and have a legit shot at going to the Super Bowl, Peter King even ranked them #1. The Ravens have talent and anybody saying Ozzie has 'lost it ' really isn't paying attention and repeating rhetoric they hear from the radio or some people on this board.

  7. @Billy D great post. I have looked at those numbers before my self more fans should before they talk about the problem being the players fault. Pees was 'vanilla' as soon as he got here it was noticeable immediately. I remember when Pees would have the linebackers playing 10yds off the line of scrimmage! Now he has the CB's playing 10yds back. I think Pees just doesn't like the line of scrimmage.
