  1. I wouldn't say Harbs is good with strong personalities... they always seem to get cut even if we need them and it's a cheap contract (pollard as an example)

Although that would be a hell of a good line up, I give you that

Pollard, and Anquan are probably the best examples of when John couldn't manage a player and had to let them go eventually. In contrast, if you look at Jimmy Smith and Ngata when they came out of college, they had concerns about off the field issues and consistency, respectfully. Harbs was able to give great value and Jimmy is still on the team so I would hope he can do the same with Josh, I cannot remember the first time we had a solid #1.

  2. I love the idea of this guy on 3rd and long being able to just move around the line and burst through the gaps. Between him and Timmy, no way an Oline will keep both of them off a QB blitzing up the middle. We just need to keep adding to the rotation of solid pass rushers so the Oline has no rest or let up from the ravens assault.

  3. I wouldn't necessarily call him a steal - a lot of mocks and fans on other teams' boards have a high opinion of him.  Similar to Philip Dorsett last year or Brandin Cooks in 2014, he's the kind of player that could sneak into the late first round with a good combine and pro day.  However, this year is different than the last 8 or so for us because we have such an early pick in every round - I could see us pulling the trigger in the early second if he's still there.  But Shepard is my "surprise late first round draft pick" this year.

The guy could make some noise if you move him around and he can burn, vertically and across the field. If we get him I would assume that either him or Perrimen will be our future #1 WR. They both have speed and can be dangerous to go the distance but Sterling I feel is sharper on his routes and can separate easier from their DBs. This pick would allow us to go after an Olinemen, Pass rusher, or DB in the first round which would really help. Speaking of prospects, anyone have an idea where the walking Giant Shawn Oakman might land in the draft?

  4. If Shareece works out, that really helps our need to grab another DB in the draft. In addition, lets not forget about Will Davis, who also played well before injury. I dont think we are not that far off from a stellar team. We keep injuries down and this team is SB worthy. Case in point, Sherece did well, Webb looked good in FS, and we still have Will Davis and some younger, big physical DBs in the wings like Julian and Tray. We grab another vet from FA and a draft pick for the future(Eli Apple, Vern H, Ramsey) and this DB could be a terror as long as we do our part to add on to the pass rush. That could be adding more to the Dline as well as OLB(nothing is more effective then a Dlinemen coming up the middle on a QB to cause pressure. Offense only needs to figure out what we will do on the Oline(I say Ravens end up rolling with Monroe since he is still young and are gonna bank his injuries are behind him until the bulk of his contract is behind him. Besides I think Jensen could be a solid replacement for KO if he were to leave and we could use the extra comp pick). WR will be fine since we will have Perrimen, SSS, and Aiken back. Now to draft a solid WR1 like Treadwell or maybe even Tosh Boyd(I am a fan of getting Sterling Shepard as well since he looks a lot like Antonio Brown). A few fixes here and there and we should be back at getting in the title race. Manning and Brady are getting no younger, now is the time to build the next Dynasty behind Flacco and our defense!

  5. The idea of Perrimen, SSS, and Jackson sprinting down the field sounds awesome and all(not to mention the possible idea of adding Will Fuller or Sterling Sheppard in the draft)but I would hope we would try to get a bit younger. Jackson is 29 and is younger than SSS but at the end of the day, I bet we could find someone to replicate that speed in the draft, for cheaper and younger. Still, The idea of that much speed is tempting.

  6. Seen a lot of his game tape as OLB, only issue is that due to his size once a blocker gets their hands on him, he gets neutralized at times but when it comes to blitzing and pass defense, I think he is worth a look if he last to the 3rd round. With his small size but good pass defense, I think lining him up next to Mosley and playing 3-4 MLB would give our ILB core some more needed speed in the middle and with said speed, will just rip through a o-line up the middle on blitzes. Maybe it is me but I think he is worth the risk. What say you Ravens Nation?

  7. People thought the Bengals had the perfect squad when they had Palmer, TJ, and Chad on offense, remember that? Anyone remember how many rings they came away with during that span? exactly! I have never expected an Ohio team to make the big game anytime soon. Biggest challenge is Steelers, they like to win to play spoiler alot. you give Jimmy, and Suggs/Doom some back up on DB/OLB and SSS some back up on offense at WR and we run through a couple teams next season like hot butter.

  8. very possible and much more likely than trading up. Trading up would take away picks in the 2nd and third - which is where most of the value is in this draft. With the holes we need filled it is much more likely we stockpile picks and I really don't even see trading up as an option.

So how far can OZ go? even pick 15 would have some nice value to someone like the Texans or even a team like NE who dont even have a 2nd round pick. Not to get too much into "Madden Science" here but I think its possible OZ could trade back to a point where he could get away with a 2nd and maybe even 2 additional 3rd round picks before his first selection. I like Mackensie Alexander, Eli Apple, Eric Murray, and DJ White. I figure if we can trade back and still get 2 of the 4 mentioned then we escape with some good players to rebuild the DB group.

  9. * Get Jimmy a solid young running mate to control the other CB spot

*Get some depth to keep Doom and Suggs fresh on the OLB Pass rush spot

*Start on getting backups in order for Web and Hill should they get injured.

*WR, WR, WR, and more WR's before TC starts. WR should be the deepest core outside of Pass rush and DB we should be pooling from in 2016. Flacco will more than likely redo his contract if he wants to avoid the season and injury he had in 2016(thanks Hurst). So hopefully we can use that money to get some vet exp on the Oline.

  10. I would prefer to find dbacks in free agency about to breakout as elite or above average but yet to do so. Trumaine Johnson has priced himself out of range recently. I like Jeremy lane so far. He is better than Maxwell ever was. Great in the slot and very sudden at 6'1 with very underrated speed and playmaking skills outside. Could very well be a pro bowler in a different system that displays his complete skillset. And with byrons bust contract Lanes play will be overlooked!! He is not completely healed from his Superbowl injury and will only get better next year. And will not cost much.

I always thought if Lane had not gotten injured in the SB, the Pats would not have won. As a slot that can switch outside, I would love to have that vet leadership on the other side to really manage the game plan. Now to just sure up a pass rush and this DB core could really show shutdown potential.

  11. Really just isn't that good a year for corners; there's no clear #1 or all around great player.

Vernon is a solid #1, Mackensie Alexander is too. I think you put them next to a Jimmy Smith, a Revis, or a Sherman during the year, you will see in the amount of ints they get. in reference to depth, Eric Murray and DJ White could surely be role or back up guys who could step in and contribute. I think we can grab a top DB in the first 1-2 rounds and then again in the forth.

  12. I think we keep only Tucker. We work with Jensen on LG, let Zuttah and Urshel battle for starting C, and Draft a LT in the top ten. We keep Monroe for one more year to see if any value is left in him and then let him go once the rookie gets a hang of things. We draft 1-2 new pass rushers in the draft as well as bring in a vet from FA to battle in TC. Upshaw is a great edge run stopper, just not what we needed for getting to the QB.

  13.

So here's my first attempt at a mock draft. I did include Ravens picks for rounds 2- 4 as well as the entire first round.

    1. Tennessee Titans- Laremy Tunsil OT Ole Miss: Titans need to protect their investment in Mariota. They now have 2 book end tackles for his whole career.

    2. Cleveland Browns- Jared Goff QB California: Manziel likes to party and play dress up. Josh McCown is coming off an injury, here’s hopefully the one for Cleveland.

    3. San Diego Chargers- Laquon Treadwill WR Ole Miss: This will surprise some but it shouldn’t. Malcolm Floyd is retiring and they have nothing opposite Keenan Allen. Treadwill solves that issue.

    4. Dallas Cowboys- A’Shawn Robinson DT Alabama: If you look at the middle of the Cowboys defense, they need a serious upgrade. Robinson is being touted as the best DL from Alabama since Marcel Dareus.

    5. Jacksonville Jaguars- Vernon Hargreaves CB Florida: Jacksonville needs to fix their secondary. If they are going to compete in the AFC South, they need to shut down Andrew Luck & Marcus Mariota.

    6. Baltimore Ravens- Joey Bosa OLB Ohio State: Ozzie Newsome rejoices as the Ravens get their young pass rusher to go with Zadarius Smith. Bosa is BPA and can learn a year or two from Terrell Suggs before taking over full time.

    7. San Francisco 49ers- Paxton Lynch QB Memphis: 49ers have to find upgrades over Gabbert and Kaepernick. This may change pending who their new HC is and if Lynch fits their system.

    8. Miami Dolphins- Emmanuel Ogbah DE Oklahoma State: Oliver Vernon is a free agent, here’s his replacement.

    9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DeForest Buckner DE Oregon: Bucs need help in the pass rush department. They have to find someone who can chase down Cam, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees.

    10. New York Giants- Myles Jack LB UCLA: The Giants have needed linebacking help for years, they finally land a stud in Jack.

    11. Chicago Bears- Leonard Floyd OLB Georgia: The Bears land a pass rusher opposite of McPhee.

    12. New Orleans Saints- Jalen Ramsey CB/S Florida State: The Saints secondary is as bad as Philly’s. Ramsey could fall lower but his limit right now is 13 with the Eagles.

    13. Philadelphia Eagles- Tre’Davious White CB LSU: Chip Kelly screwed up the Eagles secondary, and that is putting it nicely. Here’s a new corner for the new head coach as he fixes Chip Kelly’s debacle.

    14. Oakland Raiders- Ronnie Staley OT Notre Dame: Donald Penn is a free agent, he lands a stud franchise Left Tackle to protect Derek Carr.

    15. St. Louis Rams- Robert Nkemdiche DE/DT Ole Miss: With off the field issues, he’s perfect for Jeff Fisher. Nick Fairley is a free agent and Chris Long is due a lot of money next year.

    16. Detroit Lions- Andrew Billings DT Baylor: Ngata won’t come back, they finally land a stud defensive tackle to help ease Suh leaving last year.

    17. Atlanta Falcons- Michael Thomas WR Ohio State: Roddy White is frustrated; Leonard Hankerson was waived, so this is an easy choice.

    18. Indianapolis Colts- Ezekiel Elliott RB Ohio State: If your Ryan Grigson you ignore the offensive line and defense, it's what you do. Here’s a young running back because screw protecting Andrew Luck. All jokes aside, I seriously can see this pick happening.

    19. Buffalo Bills- Jonathon Allen DE/DT Alabama: Kyle Williams is 32 and coming off an injury. Here’s a replacement.

    20. New York Jets- Jaylon Smith LB Notre Dame: The Jets are currently set at ILB so they can take a chance on Jaylon, red shirt him and groom him for 2017.

    21. Houston Texans- Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama: Texans need to replace Brian Cushing in the middle of that defense.

    22. Green Bay Packers- Jarran Reed DL Alabama: BJ Raji is a free agent, so the Packers find some DL help going forward.

    23. Minnesota Vikings- Jack Conklin OT Michigan State: Matt Kalil has regressed since being picked in 2012. Here’s a new blind side protector for Bridgewater.

    24. Cincinnati Bengals- Kenny Clark DT UCLA: Bengals interior of the defensive line could stand to upgrade.

    25. Washington Redskins- Kendall Fuller CB Virginia Tech: The Redskins need to find some secondary help. They get it here with Fuller who can contribute right away.

    26. Pittsburgh Steelers- Yannick Ngakoue OLB Maryland: Neg me for this all you want but Jarvis Jones is a bust and they can’t keep bringing James Harrison out of retirement.

    27. Carolina Panthers- Jason Spriggs OT Indiana: Michael Oher has a done a great job but he will be in a contract year in 2016. Here’s a long-term replacement at Left Tackle.

    28. Seattle Seahawks- Su’a Craves LB/S USC: Bruce Irvin is a free agent, who knows if Kam Chancellor will holdout again. Craves can play both LB & S.

    29. Kansas City Chiefs- Scooby Wright LB Arizona: Derrick Johnson won’t play much longer, Chiefs grab a young LB to play next to him and groom for the future.

    30. Arizona Cardinals- Shaq Lawson OLB Clemson: Cardinals signed Dwight Freeny and he played well. He won’t be around forever though so here’s some young blood for them.

    31. Denver Broncos- Vadal Alexander G LSU: The Broncos can stand to improve their offensive line.

    Ravens Draft Rounds 2 - 4:

Round 2: Germain Ifedi T/G Texas A & M: We love versatile offensive lineman. Ifedi can play both guard and tackle. This may change pending free agency but he can slide in at LG next to Monroe if KO leaves, or slide in next to KO if KO re-signs at Left Tackle.

Round 3: Will Redmond CB Miss. State: We add some corner depth here. With Webb moving to Free Safety, Redmond will compete with the rest of the corners to start opposite of Jimmy.

Round 4: Shawn Oakman DE Baylor: Ozzie has a head scratcher pick each year, something tells me we may take a chance on Oakman.

You think Oakman will last that long? Hell of a physical talent and if we get Bosa on top of that with Doom, Suggs, and Smith already, that would be a constant solid rotation. I still think we need a WR in the first 3 rounds to get a stand out player. Same with DB. If we can grab Sterling Sheppard and Eric Murray or possibly DJ White, Id be happy with that.

  14. There is no lessons for a team that lost so many to injury. How do you prepare for that? Hope that the market is good for FA replacements, hope your younger players are ready and stock up on draft picks in case of a trade. That is all you can do. Lets me honest, if all your players were "starter" quality or at least a game manager type, the more time he gets on film, the bigger his check will be once his contract expires.

  15. Keep until training camp:

    15 Campanaro, Michael WR 5-9 185 24 2 Wake Forest

    18 Perriman, Breshad WR 6-2 218 22 R Central Florida

    89 Smith Sr., Steve WR 5-9 195 36 15 Utah

    12 Waller, Darren WR 6-6 245 23 R Georgia Tech

    11 Aiken, Kamar WR 6-2 215 26 3 Central Florida

    83 Brown, Daniel WR 6-5 225 23 R James Madison

    17 Butler, Jeremy WR 6-2 213 24 2 Tennessee-Martin

    81 Clay, Kaelin WR 5-10 195 24 R Utah

    13 Givens, Chris WR 6-0 203 26 4 Wake Forest

    84 Matthews, Chris WR 6-5 218 26 2 Kentucky

    Draft: Sterling Sheppard - OU

    Final roster:

    89 Smith Sr., Steve

    18 Perriman, Breshad

    Sterling Sheppard - OU

    84 Matthews, Chris WR

    15 Campanaro, Michael

    17 Butler, Jeremy WR

    12 Waller, Darren WR

    81 Clay, Kaelin WR

I wouldn't hate this lineup too much if we came back with a healthy TE and RB group(as well as oline).
