  1. And I highly doubt that they'll be as good as Flowers was before his scheme change... If we could get THAT Brandon Flowers then our defense would be a top 5 one.

With that type of coverage with a healthy Suggs, Doom, and Ngata, thats gonna allow our new guys like Kapron lewis and Timmy Jernigan to do what they do best, beat guys off the ball, slice through the line, and get to the QB. I think if we can get the old Flowers, that may solidify our defense enough to take us real deep into the playoffs.

  2. Richardson wouldn't have fell this far without something truly career-ending terrible about his knees. Coleman is just a huge wr that has catching inconstiencty

See thats the thing, Ive heard stories before about linemen and knee issues and unless he had Greg Oden type knees, someone with his potential shouldn't have dropped as far as he had but it could also be possible it was over-stated to possibly get him as an UFA by another team. who knows.

  3. Why did Brandon Coleman and Antonio Richardson fall so far?

Also we've been linked to Mike Davis prior , I recognize that name.

The knock on Brandon is his inconsistancy and small hands and Richardson was his lack of lateral movement and also, small hands.

  4. At 6'4 - 308LBS, this guy has very nimble feet and can swing out on runs very fast. He has played in zone schemes before so this is a good Kubiak fit. So now our C, LT, RG is locked up. If KO can come back, that would make LG but OZ will not leave that spot to chance. So once we get a RT and LG, and maybe a more experienced FS, we should be set for the draft. This is a smart move to get the needed pieces now, that way we can use the picks we have now to trade up and get a valued pick if needed.

  5. If anyone would have a better connection than Flacco and pitta would be Flacco and Flacco. Also, getting Smith shouldnt dismiss us from getting eldmen. Jones could be our main return guy and 4-5 on the depth chart to save his energy on runbacks. Getting Smith and eldmen together would always keep a sure handed possesion guy on the field. You would have a poor mans Q with a poor mans welker mix in a good way. You add that with possibly Troy Niklas and Odell/Cooks/Matthews and you have a killer passing game.

  6. Wow...Thomas is fast. I'm sure the popular comparison for him is Sproles/Woodhead, which looks right. He also reminds me of Chris Johnson with the way he glides when sprinting.

He's got speed, good hands, and is versatile. I'd love for us to take a shot on him. Especially if Jacoby isn't retained.

    All I have to say is this. D'A + Rice + shotgun = 7

  7. I'm not ruling him out, it's just that his drop percentage is sort of a red flag. It may very we'll be that he has difficulty with the deep ball and that's not how we would use him (already having Torrey), but I think it is something that has to be considered if you're thinking about using a first round pick on him.

Having another possible deep threat is definately something to think about, if he cannot catch deep, it hurts the reason to get him that high but I think with our coaches, we can work on that like we did with JJ. Besides, they also mentioned that the QB play was not that good that year so that could also have been a reason.

  8. I'm not sold on Lee, he dropped 12% of the catchable passes thrown at him last season. We already have a problem with drops from our receivers.

Looking at the chart, I get what your saying about his catching ability but it may deal with how hes being used. On the chart mentioned in the link, his most high percentage passes come close to mid range and he excels on getting the yards after catch, which is exactly what OZ mentioned he wanted in a WR. We have deep threats already in Jones and Smith and Thompson but to have that quick threat that can get open in a small space and cause havoc underneth to give Pitta some space, that is exactly what would help keep the D off track.

  9. This isn't a shot at you, but those aren't the easiest to find.  I would all love that, but for me the height, physicality and reliable hands would be enough for now.  Decent route running would help too and the speed would just put him over the top.

I agree, I was drinking the Mike Evans Coolaid to hard when I wrote that lol. I seriously think Lee would be a better fit. Two elite speedsters in Lee and Smith would do a lot for that offense and Lee's elusiveness will open up the D enough for Smith to hit home deep a few times in the game.

Brandin Cook would be our guy. I think the Ravens would target him IF he drops in draft stock.

What round he set to go in at the moment? I heard a coupe sites had Carolina getting him to replace Smith down the road?

  11. This isn't a "who do you want us to get thread"? Rather a what kind of WR do you think WR should get?

WR is a huge need(duh). But what kind? Some will say possession WR(Boldin esq dude. Matthews, Nicks) Others will say big body WR. (Cooper, Benjamin, Evans, Barden), some will say playmaker(Lee, Watkins, Beckham).

Me? Well what do Manning, Brees, Rodgers, and Brady all have in common.

They have a tough slot WR that will go over the middle and take a hit, but still have the chance to make a big play afterwards.

I think we are missing a little quickie slot WR, and it's obvious Marlon can't be that.

I may have us getting Beckham Jr, but I'm also an advocate for us getting a Hawkins, a Brandin Cooks. A little out WR.

We need a #2 who could be used as Torrey's doppelganger, both in speed and reliability. A threat that can take a small gain to the house and make the D back up, opening our TE's and Rice to make more plays - Someone like:

In the slot, I totally agree, Edlemen, Welker, Amendola, all these guys are quick, fast WRs that may not burn you down the field 100% of the time but excel in getting separation with their quickness, being a huge benefit on first downs. We need someone with the skills like:

Both these types of players can play all over the field, both in the slot and outside, maybe even the backfield on some plays. This is not saying we should get these guys but get some picks like them. They have a ton of versatility, something The ravens and OZ love in a player.

  12. After Dallas just missed the playoffs, might Jason Garrett be available?

Say what you want about Dallas but they're offense has been good enough to come within a game of the playoffs, even with the historically bad defense they've had.

And since Joe can make all the passes Romo can make and more, there really isnt a drop off and talent, actually an increase when you think about it.
