I can see that:
Boyle as new FB, would basically make it 3 TEs on the field in those two TE sets.
Waller as a move TE\WR: We said we needed a bigger body receiver, we can put him in the slot against smaller SS and slower LBs and outside on smaller DBs and let him do work
Pitta the Rec TE: Should be starter since he has a good track record with Joe
Gilmore TE2: Roadblock of a blocker and can be a bully when it comes to powering through tacklers. I can see him making great plays in the middle and the redzone.
Watson: Not sure really, can keep him in case Pitta and Gilmore goes down. Keep in mind our TE squad could go from depth to need depending on suspensions and injuries.......
Saw this kid at the combine and he put up some real good numbers. A lot of teams will be looking at him to see if he can play corner(which he does have experience). Took a snapshot of his combine numbers along with Jimmys back in the day and its not bad comparison at all. Since we have Carr now he doesn't have to be ready right now. He has the size and speed to play coverage LB, SS, FS, and CB. Could also be Jimmy eventual replacement either due to retirement or injury.

Hoping they give more chances to Waller this game. Guy hasnt done a ton but over time this dude could be a beast. Did you see how he fought back 6 eagles to get the first down? And the fact he could still add some muscle to this frame and keep the same speed will definitely count as an asset going forward.
Dont forget about Pierce, if someone catches that knocked ball, we're talking 35-7 instead. Pierce may end up being the back up option in the event Williams walks for big $$$. Young has been a revelation at starting CB, this may also allow the ravens to reconsider some of the depth options they have going into next season. Wright have been good at times but I feel young may end up showing more consistency. And how about Waller showing he can be that redzone target when you give him the investment. Waller I can see being a great option in the post Pita era. And Matt Judon is jonny on the spot again with the fum rec. Something tells me another year and another good LB draft and we could have a solid post Suggs \Doom era set of LB. Would love to see SSSR stay in the slot role because it looks he can cause more damage that way. Wallace has become a great speed guy and now he is showing he can do it from all over the field. Thats great because maybe we can then push Chris Moore and Perrimen more as the down field options. Also wondering if Aiken is gonna slowly drift to the back of the stat line again....
Wallers talent cannot be denied and hopefully he is not another cut. As a tight end, when he has had opportunities, he has made a decent amount of plays. Large plays for alot of yards. From PS, to preseason, to regular, he has made plays for long yardage. Honestly I feel Waller as been more impressive with his speed and size than Max has been period. Im telling you now there are a few teams that would love a player of his ability at TE/WR hybrid
Still trying to figure out why Hurst is back at the same spot he got Flacco injured the last time? I get he is a backup but for all the trouble you could have put Yanda on the left side and might have gotten much better results.
Waller has too much upside to slip through Ravens roster. I can see him close to the bottom but on the roster somewhere. Pitta injuries dont really make him a reliable option long term. Gilmore is a great player when not injured and Maxx hasnt really wowed me honestly. Waller has the size and speed to be a serious nightmare and Im telling you now if we let him go, Saints, NE, and possibly SD will be more than happy to pick him up.
I dont blame that botched catch on Waller. I know WR are supposed to catch what ever is in range but its just common sense. You dont throw at a guys knees when he is 6'6. Save that for Camp or SSS, Waller has the size and speed to win deep balls and redzone jump balls so can we please use this guys height to our advantage. This guy could be a amazing threat since he and Brown can both play TE and WR. We needed to improve in redzone offense and having brown and waller at WR, Gillmore and Watson at TE and West at RB, defense wont know whether to cover the run or play action. #KeepEM

Might have been weed, I think he had an issue with that in college and since his sentence wasnt as long as Boyles I am guessing more than likely the cause. Hopefully Monroe can push the NFL to stop going after pot users. Theres no advantage to taking it and honestly I would prefer that then having our players hooked on pain killers like what almost happened to Megaron if he had not quit.
Resign Resign Resign. Tucker and Williams are core players and if they can get them long term then it keeps a dangerous team even more dangerous for years to come. Wouldnt mind holding some over for 2017 if anythings left after the resign.
Two players I would like to hear more about this offseason: KLM and Willie Henry. I was already figuring Urban would get major snaps this season.
agree, we know he has potential, how about those rookies!?
Waller could be a great depth option in the case Pitta gets injured and Watsons productive year was a fluke.

Ah yes it's off season....release the media trolls....I guarantee that before the first preseason game all the "football analyst" will have the Steelers and Patriots as the AFC championship contenders.....here we go again!!!! lol
So going 11 TDs and no INTs in a single Playoff run is mediocre? Out performing Manning, Brady, and Luck all in the same playoffs to beat the 49s in the SB and become MVP, thats mediocre? I think David did not put into the equation that Flacco doesnt have the same weapons some of the more popular QBs have in the league. I bet you $100.00 that Flacco wouldnt have a * by his elite status if he had a Jordy Nelson, a Antonio Brown/Thomas, or Gronk but still won a SB. We shall see what happens this year but I can see Flacco finally showing his doubters wrong and letting his arm do the talking.
Dont sleep on Waller. Man has a ton of ability. Boyle may be a surprise cut. Watson has about a couple more years at best, and Pitta is never a sure thing due to this hip. Gillmore, Maxx, and Waller would be a pretty hard group to cover in double TE and even TE slot packages.
At this point, I think Trent is done, he cant stay healthy and the RB spot is too loaded with young talent. At this point I would not be surprised if Forsett isnt looking over his shoulder. I can see a Dixon, Allen, West backfield this season. Tali and West are about the same size but West can stay on the field longer. Forsett is on the wrong size of 29 when RB are devalued at about the same rate a vehicle when it leaves the lot. Having a young group that can work together and have good catching skills will go a long way in the his vertical offense. Good to see the rookie from Cinci doing well. We could definitely use a speed guy if Perrimen can make the full season. Im still loving the idea of SSS, Wallace, Moore, and Perrimen on a shotgun set sometime this season. And please lets keep Waller over Boyle if the choice comes down to it. He is not as a liability with PEDs and he will be available immediately this season and he is a much more athletic specimen than Boyle.
Still have enough money for a possible trade if need be so dont be surprised.

It was heartbreaking to watch Dennis Pitta go down the first time with his hip injury. The second time it happened it was devastating and hard to watch. I give him all the credit in the world that he is busting his backside in an effort to make another comeback. He will be tossing his hat in the ring to compete for a roster spot against a big free agent pick up Ben Watson, blue collar workhorse Crockett Gillmore, second round draft pick last season Maxx Williams, Nick Boyle, and surprise position change prospect Darren Waller. Were you wondering why I didn't mention him in the wide receiver portion?
Those of you blessed with exceptional math skills know there are six names for what is likely only four roster spots. So what is going to happen? All the credit in the world to Dennis Pitta but I just don't think he will be healthy enough to play football anymore. I don't want to tell anyone what to do, but I think he should walk away from the game while he still can walk. Nick Boyle received a second suspension for PED usage and is suspended for 10 games and may just have cost himself a roster spot when his suspension is up.
Who makes the grade? The Ravens didn't spend all that money on Ben Watson to have him sit around so he makes it. Crockett Gillmore is our best blocking TE and a tough catch over the middle guy with tremendous catch radius. Maxx Williams was taken too high and showed enough promise as a play maker at the position for him to lose his spot. Lastly, I think Darren Waller makes the team simply based on his standout work on special teams and as a fun match up wrinkle.
Roster Count: 4: Ben Watson, Crockett Gillmore, Maxx Williams, Darren Waller
Total Roster Count: 17
I think there is a lot of hidden value in Waller. People really dont have too much of a high rate of confidence in the new TE but given his size and speed, I fear we may kick ourselves in the butt if we get beat by him on another team than using him as a great move TE that can totally abuse a LB and take away a DB to cover him.
With the WR battle, Watching Moore, Perrimen, Wallace, and SSS as our top 4 along with Aiken and maybe even 2 other younger WRs will be interesting to watch in 2016. Will be up to Flacco to really go after teams this year. Has the speed, better, Oline, Much improved pass rush and DB lineup. We need to finish off teams this year and do it with authority.
I say give Waller a shot. Pitta would be a great option if not for the injuries. Lets not forget that Watson isnt a spring chicken himself, he is solid but still an aging vet. Boyle already has 2 strikes on him and hasnt been in the league that long + he is already out 10 games this season. If we keep 4 TE's I see Waller the safer option than Pitta and Boyle.
On 5/9/2016 at 2:26 PM, bioLarzen said:That's still on the unlikely side though. Even if Pitta can't really contribute, he'll probably be no higher than 5th on the depth chart - 4th as long as Boyle is suspended. As long as at least three of the Watson/Gillmore/Williams/Boyle quartet is healthy, Waller seems unlikely to even make the roster, let alone carve out a significant share of offensive snaps.
Well, at least he has a camp and pre-season to prove himself and get higher on the depth chart. I wouldn't bet on him making the final roster thouh. He's an unproven TE who would have to edge out 2 or 3 good guys for a roster spot...
May not be as hard given Watson is not expected to be a long term fix. Pitta is one hip injury away from calling it a career, and Boyle is two strikes deep and still considered 3rd option behind Max and Gilmore.Given that and the fact Waller could be a perfect move TE of the future for Flacco due to his speed, size, and ability to block, Letting him get some heavy in game reps during the preseason would definitely do the ravens some good for their sake. Too fast for most LBs and the faster LBs wouldnt be able to out post him for the ball, its a total win - win.
Looking at Bronsons numbers, idk but I would love to see if he can play OLB. Look at his numbers and they are close some what to Terrell Suggs when he came out of AZ. Plus with his height, swatting down passes to the flank would be easy. Would love to see him and Brent Urban on the line together, try passing over that duo.
Justin Forsett,
Kenneth Dixon
Buck Allen,
Lorenzo Taliaferro,
Trent Richardson,
Terrance West
Alot of insurance being put into the RB position, best case is West and Rich get back to old form, which means forsett may be out, along with Tali and Maggie who I already consider gone at this point. I can see us having 3 backs this season so somebody is going to be either sent to PS or kicked off in TC. gonna be interesting.
Something in his background must have popped.
This is what you would call a non sexy pick.

So I assume that means we are going Pass Rusher 1st round or 2nd. No WR until much much later. Wonder if the Ravens still get Sidney Jones. He is out for the season plus will need another season to catch up to speed, isnt Carrs contract setup to be a 1-2 year deal anyway?
