  1. On Nfl.com they mentioned wideout Rishard Matthews and cover man Brent Grimes as being possible trade mates for the ravens given their current situation in Miami at the moment. Wonder if that would be possible, both could require mid to low round draft picks.
  2. No if we can only give Waller some more looks we can really see what he can do. If he had the nerves to make that type of play late into the 4th then why cant we trust him earlier? just saying...
  3. I am guessing we are gonna go 2 TE sets a lot of the game since we only have 4 WRs going into the next game and to help out the running game. TBH I hope they give Waller some more looks downfield because I think we may be under-utilizing him with his ability. I know he is young but there is something there that can scare a defense if he gets one on one with a DB or LB. Aiken has been getting yards in a support role and Marlon keeps vanishing in games. Maybe Waller can take some of Marlon's snaps and see what he can do with it. So far Marlon has 8 catches for 75 yards for the season. Just saying....
  4. The irritating thing is that the media is always saying we dont have a deep threat right now but I bet if you get him one on one on a 9 route with a smaller corner you will see what kind of deep threat he actually is.
  5. Ricardo from Seattle would not be a bad choice. Quick, Big WR with speed to be a deep threat. Eddie Royal would be a great underneath option. Someone who can get the welker type yardage. Either way, the WR depth at the top is going to be completely new coming 2016. With the amount of picks Oz is going to have in 2016 and the WR depth that will be available, even Camp may have to worry about being here next season.
  6. This kid could be something special.... http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-darren-waller-0827-20150826-story.html
  7. Well at least we get to see who we have right now. If by chance waller or givens can outshine aiken or brown or both, it will tell us what talent is there and what to possibly move on from in 2016.
  8. I think Waller and to some extent Daniel Brown could be solid players if put in the right position to do so. Both are big WRs that can block out guys and be deep threats from their size. Say what you want about his route running, when ravens needed to get downfield to tie, Waller helped with 17 yards in one play, thats pretty clutch for a low draft players rookie year with very few targets. The kid has potential and talent and I bet if this was San Diego, Rivers would be making superstars out of Waller and Daniel right now.
  9. Love how he gives praise to Joe and the Ravens for developing him in their system. http://www.nfl.com/videos/rich-eisen-show/0ap3000000542041/Rich-Eisen-Show-Tyrod-Taylor-talks-Bills-Ravens-Vick
  10. Ozzie is a draft wizard and more thank likely FO will be looking towards stocking up on as many picks as possible which may be the plan in 2016 because I can see Oz making some serious moves up and down the draft this year getting up back to fighting form. will hit the targets he knows best, LB to help out CJ and an aging Smith, DB to finally release or trade webb out and bring in some younger blood Jimmy can help mold and possibly more safety help if our new FS cant cut it.
  11. Waller should be getting some more looks as well. 2 targets in a game will not help out a rookie trying to grow and get an advantage on the depth chart. I say Camp should probably start as #2 but I think Waller could be a deep threat himself if given the opportunity, maybe not through just his sneaky speed but his overall size as well.
  12. SSS is the only option outside of our TE's Joe has to rely upon. You think Aaron Rogers or any other top flight QB would deal with the lack lackluster performance aiken has given this and previous years. Marlon Brown is a #4 WR for special packages and we still dont know what we have in Waller and Camp because we dont play them as much as our current starters. We need to start trying to move Waller and Camp up the depth chart or start looking for a trade or FA because Flacco need help now!
  13. %u201CWe need to get some other guys some similar amount of opportunities and see what they can do and get their confidence going and make them believe that they can make those plays down the stretch because they can.%u201D IDK but that sounds like they may be moving on and trying the rest of the roster out to see how they do.... I hope they give Waller a solid amount of chances, I really think him, perrimen, and williams, along with gilmore is the future of this team.
  14. I just want the kid to get more looks. At this point if he and camp dont workout were very possibly headed to either FA or trade next.
  15. This may be a chemistry thing along with younger players still learning their roles. When you have a somewhat young defense like ours it takes time to get those plays as well as instincts down to really get those probowl plays. Lets not forget that we really dont have many defensive leaders left on the team now suggs is gone. We have leaders just not like we did with Suggs, Ngata, Lewis, Reed, etc. Doom and Smith are great players but we could use some more veteran leadership from somewhere. Kinda make you think about how blessed we were to have Reed, Lewis, ngata, and Suggs all on one team at one time....
  16. Looking at the size of the DBs the steelers have going into next week. If Gay gets SSS, the Ravens should be able to put in Waller and do some damage. Even Marlon may be able to get some catches as long as Flacco can toss it in the right spots. I know waller had issues getting jammed at the line during preseason but non of these guys are even 200lbs so this may be the best time to see what the rookie has. If he does well and surprises maybe we talk about getting more time. Worse case is we end up trying to get a name off FA or trade. 28 Allen, Cortez CB 6-1 197 26 - most likely to face Waller if he was in the game. Allens 40 = 4.51 while Wallers 40 = 4.46. I say give it a shot. 41 Blake, Antwon CB 5-9 198 25 25 Boykin, Brandon CB 5-10 182 31 Cockrell, Ross CB 6-0 191 - Could go against Waller as well but with a 4.56 40 and 6 lbs lighter, I would suspect Allen would be the guy covering him. 22 Gay, William CB 5-10 187
  17. The Pats can laugh it up all they want but they should keep in mind that Tommy Boy cant play forever and Flacco has much more time on his side. All this will come around again when we are holding the trophy again while they try to make Grappolo a Brady clone....
  18. thats not a bad Idea honestly. We are not totally in a sunken ship at this point. To be honest we just need another guys outside of SSS and a good slot. Camp can play the slot and Waller could play outside. With Waller outside you have a threat for the high ball each time. If they take the safeties to the outside to cover SSS and Waller, guess what, those LB will have to worry about our Gronk, Gilmore streaking down the seam and if he doesnt outrun the LB, he will take a few DBs down the field with him. If you play to take away the deep ball, SSS and Camp will slice you to shreds underneath, as well as Williams and our running game. We dont need superstars here to get this done, just mismatches.
  19. Next year is going to be loaded next year and we do not have time to keep trying to play around waiting for Aiken and Brown to become top flight guys. I saw some potential from Daniel and Waller in the preseason and I feel if we can see where we are with them before Perrimen comes back, we could decide if we have a solid stable going into next season or like you said, hit the draft for more backups.
  20. I just feel bad for SSS because he vouched for him and this is how you pay back a future HOF?
  21. I wonder if bringing in Daniel Brown as well would be helpful. We need to starting mixing it up here. Our offense for the last three games has started out slow and SSS is killing himself trying to do it alone at WR. Camp is helping but they are both more effective as slot guys. We need guys who can work the outside and Marlon and Aiken cannot do that.
  22. In addition, with Wallers size and Perrmiens speed, no way they dont get a least a PI down the field in single coverage.
  23. I have been saying Waller needs a chance. The pass to him last week was a horrible one! Flacco needs more 2 TE sets with SSS and Camp and Waller playing more in rotation. Marlon and Aiken are not tops WR's. they are good rotation guys to play when spelling the starters and maybe on special packages but as they did the last couple of seasons, when they are needed the most, they vanish like water in volcano.....
  24. Looks to be another month or so before we see the rookie..... http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/181110/ravens-breshad-perriman-aggravates-knee-injury-in-warm-ups
  25. Maybe not the first round but possibly a Raw Talent that may take time to groom. Hurst is doing what he can and Monroe is a injury concern. I like the idea of doubling down on pass rushers and WRs next season and if need be patch what parts of the defense we need with value guys at CB and S. We need some solid years dumping talent on to the offensive side. It took years on years for the Ravens to develop the defensive talent they had over the years and if we can just spend maybe the next 2 drafts doing the same we could have a really top flight offense for Flacco while he still has that massive arm of his.
