  1. Could really exhaust a defense constantly rotating in solid pass catchers/ blocking TEs that can go up the seam or take shots in the middle. hope pitta can play...
  2. The big play ability is exactly what we need right now. 2015 is pretty much a tryout for the 2016 season at this point and if he can prove that he can give us the play we are looking for, he may just carry over into 2016. I kinda like what OZ is doing here. Getting speedy pass catchers that can go deep and make contested catches. speed and the ability to catch and make solid routes is a trait our ravens WR have missed outside of SSS. Having a young group of guys that can show all three will give us what we need to make a SB run next season. The more pieces we can get taken care now, the less draft picks we use next offseason. Smart move OZ.
  3. It would be nice solidifying the Oline first and then working our way to the WR group. Flaccos best stats come from being able to use PlayAction off the run game. The run game in Bmore is what got us the 2 rings we do have(Jamal, Rice both had elite line play during their runs, even when passing wasnt even an option). We rebuild the line on the edges, meaning moving out Monroe and re-evaluating Wagner, Maybe not to release but be used more as a swing tackle who can be backup for both. We either look at FA and bring in a solid Vet or look long term via the draft and STILL bring in a vet so that rookie can catch up(NEVER a smart idea to have your rookie guarding your QBs blindside). For TE, we are set. We can make the hard decision of moving Pitta or allowing him to retire next season because Gilmore, Willams, and Boyle are showing great ability to get open(Boyle actually has done this more than Williams so far this season. A great thing to see given the fact Gilmore and Boyle are perfect for run blocking given their size). The WRs we get in 2016 should concentrate around one thing.....SPEED!. I say dont waste Flaccos arm throwing to more slow with just size, we already have Waller for size and even he has gotten open more times than not. We need a group of speed merchants who will force the defense to back up so that we can run more effectively. Also, with more speed comes more possible trick plays and end arounds that could confuse the defense even more. Flacco can get the ball anywhere so lets allow him the ability to do so with players who can consistently beat their man. If SSS comes back next year, with those additions mentioned, no way we do worse than 10 wins in 2016.
  4. When Flacco had viable weapons, he was able to win a SB. If we can use half our picks to upgrade the offense around Flacco, both on the line and at WR, I am pretty sure he will be able to get us another ring. Flacco has the arm to get down field quickly, now we just need a set of WRs that can meet the ball there just as fast. Camp, when not injured, is a boost on offense, Darren Waller is a redzone threat and honestly should be Marlon Browns future replacement. Perrimen I think will be our Torrey 2.0 but we need him on the field this season to see what he can do. Givens is still a toss up as well as Ross. Ross has been shaky on returns recently and Givens is still somewhat unproven. I say we still draft future talent and then see how they work out in camp. Upgrade LT by moving out Monroe with a more solid tackle and see if you can upgrade C depth through the draft and free agency and we should be set for Flacco to really do something in 2016. As for the defense, I think we just need more/better vet leadership to help manage the game and add some sorely needed discipline to the DB group.
  5. When I was a kid, I lived on Archer St. It was 3 blocks from Russell street so I got to see the Stadium get built from my home window. I think thats when I became a fan. Wasnt born when the colts left but seeing the bank built stone by stone really did something to me as a kid.
  6. If we had that mindset with Jimmy Smith, he would be playing for another team right now.......
  7. Okay so now I hope finally the Brown and Aiken project is over. I would rather have 2-3 WRs for Flacco who can get jammed at the line sometimes but beat their guy deep rather than two guys who get jammed and cannot separate or slowly vanish from the game. Make Ross the slot, Givens and Butler the starters, see who impresses and hold on to them next season. We have Waller for next season so that helps, now to just see where we are with Perrimen. If he shines, great. If not, you know he may need some polishing or time as a depth or package guy before becoming a starter. I know its not going to happen but seriously, if we were to get back rice I would imagine it would be pennys on the dollar contract-wise compared to what he would have been making if not for that bad situation that happened. He needs a team and we need a solid set of RBs. Tali is injured, Allen is good but not yet consistent, and Forsett is doing very well no doubt but could you imagine how much better he would be if he was fresh in the 4th qtr getting dump off and screens and quick gashes up the middle instead of being ran the whole game? TE position going into next season could already be setup. May have to make some hard decisions on Pitta with how the other 3 have played but you would have quality depth for the future. Can we please look at a new LT in 2016? Or at the very least figure out if we could potentially fit Monroe at RT and have Wagner as backup and possible draft or goto FA for a better LT? I think bargain deals for players is great and all but sometimes you have to spend to get quality guys. Flacco deserves a better line then what he has had thus far and if we can give him that much his play will change(you don't throw 11TDs and 0INTS in the playoffs as a fluke). Best case, Perrimen, Waller, Givens, Camp, and Butler/FA/Draft pick will take the 5th spot for the WRs 2016. That will give us the speed to hit deep and also the quickness to go over the middle, and the size for jump balls in the red zone. And on defense, I think some of DBs would probably be a lot better if we can manufacture a quality pass rush to get the QB uncomfortable at the least. Just as the WRs need a solid run game to get open, DBs need a solid pass rush to cut time having to cover their guy and cut off routes......
  8. I trust in OZ and all but you cant always try to find deals and steals in the draft. Sometimes you have to do like they did with Williams and go get them before they get cleared out. This year would have been perfect to load up on some WRs and even possibly at DB but we got caught up trying to find guys outside the box. Maybe being the in top ten in the draft next season helps us right the ship for 2016.
  9. I hope next season we actually attempt to load up on WRs in the front half of the draft instead of the back end. I feel we do much better drafting linemen and backup guys in the latter half of the draft then we do actual potential long term starters.
  10. Too many to count really......
  11. Aiken is not clutch and Marlon statically vanishes from a game.Lets put in ross, givens, and waller and see what happens.
  12. What hindsight? people were talking about Diggs a ton on the forums but people thought he didnt have the talent I guess. Well he has more talent then 75% of our WR core right now! Diggs, Devin Smith, and a bunch of wrs that went later in the draft would have been a breathe of fresh air compared to the lie we were told in the beginning of the season, like how Marlong and Aiken were ready to step up, knowing good and well that they were not focusing on WR and that we only needed one speed guy the whole season...... You have a QB with an arm that rivals Manning, Bledsoe, and any other big arm QB you can think of and you give him slow non deep threats and one guy who can blow the top off............. so when he gets injured we have no speed. next season there better be an increase of both speed and talent at the wr position because it is getting real irritating seeing the pats organization taking pop shots at us for our down season and to have that go into 2016 would be inexcusable.
  13. A lot of people right now feel Joe is not worth the 120 million he was given but if you look at what Flacco has had to deal with the 120 was definitely the correct amount for the following reasons: *Cam, Jim, Marc, Gary, all these guys had time with Joe over his 6-7 years in the league and when you cannot stay with one guy and have to change offensive schemes like Flacco has had to do, you can see why it is hard to get settled in a certain offense. As advanced as the NFL is, I would wonder how it feels having to learn a whole new system every 2 years.... *Offensive weapons is another thing. Outside of our SB team, I cannot really remember when Flacco actually had high ranking talent on the outside to throw to. All be it we have had some great to decent TE's as well as Rice during that time, we all know if you cannot throw outside to your wides, it takes away heavily on your offense. People like to say that well Brady never had great weapons either and to that I say compared to the talent level of the WRs the pats did have with the wrs we did, you can easily see that the ability of the pats wrs as well as potential ceiling was much higher(outside of Torrey smith, I cannot even think of that many ravens drafted wrs still in the league right now let alone in a starting role). We have missed on WR over and over and over again and because of that, Flacco has no one to take the load off our TE and running game. Once we have a stock of worth while WRs, you will see Flacco be the elite QB he can be. *Lastly, at the end of the day, Flacco has put up enough points on the offense for a lot of teams to win this season but it doesnt matter if your defense is swiss cheese. I remember back when a Baltimore defense would relish the idea of having 30 points or 20 points for that matter, it would be slaughter of ints and sacks from then on. This defense now cannot even stop themselves from getting penalties in clucth situations let alone stop an viable offense. Maybe once the defense builds a pass rush, gets the offense off the field more often, Flacco can then manage the game the way it needs to be and close things out. Now I do believe Flacco has made some bone head mistakes this season, you dont avg 1 int a game for no reason but when you can trust the people your throwing to and the defense makes it so that every drive has to at least get a FG, I can see why he would try to force the issue sometimes which has resulted in the issues we have now. What say you Ravens faithful......
  14. Cant say it enough, we need speed to match Flaccos arm! Its great we have waller and maybe we can add another big bodied WR next year as well but we need speed, speed, and more speed to really allow flacco to sling it like we know he can. When we had jones, torrey, and boldin, it wasnt the best bunch of WRs but the combination of speed and reliability was what made Flacco 11tds to 0ints in the playoffs(not to mention as stellar run game). in 2016, if SSS retires, I say you release aiken and brown, hold on to givens and ross, waller, and camp and see how they work out in training camp but bring in young speedy talent from the draft. Flacco needs guys that can make DBs pay off the playaction and double move(like Smith did to Wright last game). Once we get that back you will see a Ravens offense that will be able to put the boots to other defenses and possibly give our defense more chances to just pin their ears back and go after the QB.
  15. Is camp already on year 4? if not I say let him at least stay for practice and then if he gets injured then release him next season.
  16. Maybe a low draft number would not be that bad this year. honestly Flacco needs a reload on WR and we need guys who can get to the QB. When doom and Suggs are not in, that number goes down and more so when our DBs are not playing well. Oz is the best when moving around in the draft and I know in bmore we have a lot of pride in winning but could you imagine what Oz could do with a top 10 pick when he has been making miracles so far with the bottom half of the draft for the last several years?
  17. No one is a fortune teller but given some of the play and talent that got left over from last year, we should have known something was bad. Brown has only shined once since being in the league. Aiken is on his 7th-8th team now for a reason. A younger less experienced team relying on close to retirement vets to lift the team. Multiple injuries to key players and positions, giving way to players who have not played that often, which give way to penalties and blown coverage. Draft picks that were high, not performing well or not performing at all. A Oline that was shacky due to injury at LT. A QB worried about protection, which leads to throwing the ball inaccurately, which leads to int's. No pressure in clutch situations, or at all, which allows the other team to hit down field. Lack of cap which does not allow for possible trade or signing of high quality players. Thats about it in a nutshell.
  18. Hopefully Daniel Brown will get another shot this season as well.
  19. Is it me or does Zuttah come off more as a finesse blocker then a power one. I have seen him get pushed around by bigger NT and DT's and wonder if maybe next season we should start looking into more of a power blocker type center.
  20. We are missing a lot of heart on this team right now. There is not a solid vocal leader right now with Suggs gone for the season, Ngata gone, Lewis gone, Reed gone, SSS will be back soon but will injure himself again trying to get us out of the hole we are in. Really need to say this, Flacco is the most disrespected player on this entire team. You give the man all this money and then give him scarps and older vets and expect him to make champions out of them. Aiken is a decent player in a backup role but THERE IS A REASON HE WAS RELEASED FROM ALL THESE TEAMS BEFORE US!!!!!! He and Marlon both vanish over time in games if not from the start. Camp is injury prone, Waller hasnt has enough experience but I think would be a cheaper switch out for Marlon Brown after this season and at TE it seems Boyle is getting more looks and targets than Williams our higher round pick. Flacco has no weapons to throw to and even with a stout run game, your not fooling anyone with your game planning with the WR we have out there right now. We need to blow up the WR and CB corps next season, keep only Jimmy, Perrimen, Waller, Davis, Kyle, and then remove everyone else. Web is not worth his contract, neither is our starting FS at this point either(Totally down with moving Will Hill to FS and play the deep ball and just draft a new SS or play Terrence Brooks in that spot since he did play well when placed there before). Keep Jerigen as a long down player, and have Carl, Williams, and Guy be the starters going forward. When it comes to our LB core, we have really fallen off with now the loss of suggs and now doom. Next year should be made a huge focus to either replace or find the right players to eventually back them up while Zdaruis gets up to speed. Also need to see if Tail can stay on the field as well. If he can, maybe keep him in short yardage down and see if Allen may be able to take the extra reps.
  21. No way the anyone in that lockeroom or FO is happy about the production on the field at this point. If this keeps up there is going to be a ST Louis type blow out and replacement on both sides of the ball. They are going to probably flush most of the WRs after this season because: 1.) SSS may retire so he wont even be here to help lead the new group coming in 2.) Brown vanished again in the stats. 3.)Kamar Aiken made plays but was not consistent enough to pull out the win. 4.) the other guys besides that are still new and have no experience what so ever. What we need at this point next year is veteran leadership that can lead an offense at WR. Can we please acknowledge we have a weakness at selecting a true #1 WR please? Even when Perrimens injury is healed, we will still need a full season and then some to even show that he has the potential to be a #1. We are better off signing proven talent then drafting it. We should use those picks to piece together our defense and start making decisions on some of our older starters like Canty and Web. If SSS does call it quits, I say we keep Camp and Waller and maybe even givens but we then go looking for actual starters that can contribute right now.
  22. At this point we have seen what we kinda have in Brown. We have seen flashes of what Waller can do as well as Brown. Who should be getting more reps with Flacco at the #2 spot of the two?
  23. Kid is still green but has the speed to make the browns play deep this game, which should give our TE and bigger WRs some space underneath to work. Even a short pass with this kid given the right defense can go yard. I like the deal so far, hope it works out in the game.
