Malcolm Smith won the MVP.
Deserves it
Peytons the GREATEST
can probably get two 1st rounders from Oakland for him.
I could actually see Suggs' fitting in nicely in Oakland.
Realistically would like to just extend him and lower the cap hit. I think the neck injury might've affected him or maybe he just got lazy as the season went on. I don't see how someones play just drops of that drastically for no reason.
As time progresses who knows how cold it might end up. The game starts late and half time is extended for the game. It's not just the cold, but the winds of the stadium as well. I'm rooting for the Seahawks to win. Pete Carroll could hang that over Jim and Sherman could obviously hang that over Kaeps head. Would be funny if the Broncos lose cause of a Welker drop.

From Cam Cameron, to saying Chudz is still available, to it being a slap in the face that Kubiak came here.
Those have to be cries of desperation. They must be feeling it over there. WAMP WAMP
Yeah I saw that and thought to myself about our ungrateful fans. I think people hate Flacco so much they figure Harbaugh has to be the main reason of our success since he's doing it with a horrible QB lol
I went to the browns forums and it's just too depressing to read through. It's like be on an orioles forum and I know their pain.
I can guarantee you that the people who don't like Flacco don't think Harbaugh is the reason for our success. They will attribute it to a good core team that was hampered by injuries the year before Harbaugh was made HC and I think they have a slight case for that, as well as a crucial draft by Ozzie in 08, where he landed a "franchise qb" and rb, depending on your definition.
You happen to have a link to that Browns forum?
Hope this works. We're essentially doing the reverse of what the Texans did. We have a defense and now trying to strengthen our offense, while for years their offense was productive with nothing from the other side. Wonder if he'll have any draft input as well. Hope this works out and even more, that if it does, there is some continuity.
I'm holding out hope that Shanahan is coming over as the QB coach...
I want Shanahan here in some shape or form. Look at what he got out of the no names in WAS and how efficient the Texans offense was when he was there.
Presser at 3 for the new OC. lol such mystery ooooh.
I know... I'm wondering why they were so secretive. When you do something like this, we expect BIG results this season. Maybe he can convince Andre or Myers to come here too...
Myth: I thought this thread was locked?
Fact: I'm pretty sure this thread was locked...
Are people here allergic to looking at all the facts or do they just like to believe whatever supports their negative agenda?
Seriously, look at the facts. I know all the cool kids like to bash everyone because it's the easy thing to do, but come on.
Hostler had bum quarterbacks, a piss poor receiving core, and a shoddy offensive line. How can anyone expect good things from that combination? We as Ravens fans should know that's a recipe for failure, no?
I don't think that's the problem. I think what most people fear is that we will stay within the same scheme we've been using and we've seen for the most part how that turns out. I think what people want is just a new face and whole new philosophy. I personally don't want Hostler and would like Shanahan, but none of us have an idea of what each would bring to the table.
Also, people seem to claim that our receivers are bad, so then why do you think he would be able to teach and implement a system to the whole offense if he couldn't do it with just that single group? Who knows though.
And for some reason people tend to neg FACTS just because they don't agree with them. Doesn't make sense to me either.
"Every one" here wants to replace Flacco too, so maybe Billick and Boller.
It will be just like old times.....
(yes I realize how horrible the old times were, thats my point
)
I loved the mentality of those teams. Might have cost us a few penalty yards, but they were damn fun to watch on defense.
To have another 6'5 - 6'6 WR with 4.4-.4.5 speed, great hands and previous college basketball experience so that he can win jump ball situations. that would pull the double teams off Torrey and allow him to blow the top off like hes used to.
This isn't a shot at you, but those aren't the easiest to find. I would all love that, but for me the height, physicality and reliable hands would be enough for now. Decent route running would help too and the speed would just put him over the top.
Another great OC would be Castillo. He's a sheer genius on the offensive side of the ball, and could bring the type of plays that would make our offense grow as a whole. He could get the most out of Flacco too. Do it Ozzie!!!
OH MY... someone get this man a doctor STAT! Can't tell if sarcasm or not...
We don't have the money to keep those guys, so it's not an issue. Jacoby is not that good of a player and we should be running less packages with the fullback.
I like the FB packages. The problem was how bad our o line was even when we tried catching teams by surprise. Fix the line and the fb will prove his worth again. We need a OC that will utilize ALL the talent we have on the team while maximizing their talent. First we need a o line that will get its job done.
I also feel it would help to bring Jones back, if done at a very cap friendly rate. I know it would mean him taking a pay cut, but I don't see another team paying him like we did. Could be wrong though.
Just realized, say we keep Jacoby and Vonta, how do you think they would feel about working with Kubiak? Think he would be an alright hire, but would prefer Kyle Shanahan. Feel he's more imaginative.
Rudy was offsides and the flying V is illegal. Sorry, been seeing that sig all week and had to say something.
I would probably prefer Shanny or Turner. Think the team needs to look into getting another qb coach though.
Lmao at your definition of fact.Fact: the offense sucked.
Fact: the defense sucked.
Fact: we have to become a better team all around or we will be competing with the Browns for the basement of the division next year.
Apparently not. Looks like we've morphed into something else. It's more like "fact: my opinion is better than your opinion". Too bad people couldn't stick to the real facts so we all could learn something.
I've kept kind of to the topic. Everything I've claimed to be fact, has been.
Eh, I hear what you are saying, but I don't put much faith in rankings and stats. I watch all games(some twice!) and I'm here to tell you that the defense vastly improved overall as a UNIT in 2013, even considering the communication issues in the secondary. We just fielded a better group in 2013. That said, it is a mystery why they failed to play 4 quarters in some games and why the pass rush disappeared in the second half of the season. Things to improve upon moving forward.
No one will say that the defese doesn't need to improve, but had anything resembling the 2012 offense shown up this team easily could've repeated. If the offense was even marginal in most of those games we would probably be getting ready for round 2 of the playoffs.
we are arguing who is to blame for a lost game.
you want to blame the part that failed on the last 1 or 2 drives.
i rather blame the part who failed on the many drives prior to the last 1 or 2.
Exactly. If the roles were reversed I would be saying that the defense was what cost us the games but you can't have one side decide to only put in a quarter of work and pin it on the other side though they are the only reason you're in the game.
That is one game.
Fact: The defense forced only one punt on the Steelers first drive in Game 1. Every other drive was a scoring drive.
Fact: The defense allowed the 3rd most points in the 4th quarter of all NFL teams.
Fact: All but 3 losses this year were 7 pts or less.
There is an obvious issue in the 4th quarter and it has nothing to do with TOP or being tired. Personally, I believe it has to do with Pees & how soft & conservative he goes in the 4th.
Fact, you were a main person who said its how you perform later in a game than during the first 3 quarters. Now isn't the last game of the season a time when you want for to bring your a game? The offense failed in a crucial moment, being week 17. So by your standards, the rest of the season didn't matter cause we had a chance THEN to make playoffs and the offense wet the bed, as usual.
I ses we where this is going to go... and fast
Just to expound on this...........
Myth - The offense is solely to blame for our .500 record and for the Team missing the playoffs.
Fact - The D folded late in many games and failed to give the Team a chance to win some of the close games that were lost. It can be said that if we win 2 or 3 of those close games early on we would have won the division and made the playoffs.
Fact: Defense got 4 TOs in a game to go to the post season and the offense only scored 13 points off those turnovers while the offense also turned the ball over twice.
No one fully blamed the offense but they deserve a fair share of the blame.
I want a reliable playmaker that will go up and get the ball. If they have speed so be it, but someone who when they are one on one, Joe feels comfortable lobbing one up to them and knowing they will either come down with it or knock it from the defender. Wouldn't hurt either if they could play inside our out. Is that asking too much?
I blame the Cowboys for us not having Dez...
I also don't see us just taking one WR. If we do, I see us taking a TE early as well and still looking again in a later round.
