It's do or die now, folks. Merry Christmas to all, and go Ravens!
Bills a no show, and a couple of terrible calls by the zebras. Looks like the Fins are in, so no hope for us except win out....
Who thinks Green won't make a miraculous recovery? Not me...
Harrison is going to probably crush this kid again. We just need figure out an answer for it. Harrison is old very he is very good on passing downs.
Well, maybe, but we're talking about a guy who has five sacks this year. He is a concern, but he ain't JJ Watt, or Von Miller...
Biggest match up of the game, IMO. If Joe has time to throw, we can win this game...
Weddle has had a few bad moments but look at the stats- at or near the top in tackles, pass break ups, and picks. 10th in the league in team pass defense, despite having a mediocre pass rush, a "rookie" at the other safety spot, a true rookie at one corner, and Jimmy in and out of the lineup. We're also hard to run on, so teams have come out slinging. Eric Berry is certainly the #1, but there's a strong case for Weddle at #2. Doesn't anybody remember last season's pass defense? Not that I like to remember it...
Weddle is and always has been one of the most overrated players in the league.
Well, I'm not sure how many three time Pro Bowlers have "always been overrated".

Plus, if he actually did think that way, I wouldn't blame him one bit. There's trained medical personnel that know a lot more about this stuff than HC's do, and they're as qualified as it gets right now to make these determinations. That's not a HC's responsibility.
Plus, Tomlin can influence his own medical staff all he wants, but Green still has to clear an independent neurologists assessment before he would be green lighted for game action.
Oh, I think we'll see Green this weekend. Just like I was certain Andrew Luck would be ruled out when the Colts played them. Seems to work that way, when it comes to those Steelers.

Well, he was between a rock, and a hard place- not an easy play. I also think Weddle got hurt earlier in the game, and Wentz is 6'5" 240...

He is a "broken" project and by that i mean he is hurt more than healthy. Other guys could use the touchs and time on the field who can consistently play and benefit the team. He looks like he could have been as welker type of impact guy but he is never around long enough to see and we have already had our share of starters on the sidelines the last 3 to 4 years.
He wasn't taking up a roster spot until last week, and then he took Hester's spot after Devin was released. How is that a "waste of a team slot"? Sorry, that doesn't make any sense.

If Marty calls a pass play, 1st down on the Eagles 10 with us in control of the lead, and Joe says "Marty's letting me get 3 TD's in this game", then I'm not sure he was thinking of anything else but stats because if it were me, I would have given the sidelines a weird look with my hands in the air as if to say "What, Seriously???"
Well, of course that what you were saying. That aside, he blew the read, and didn't see the coverage- isn't that bad, enough? Now his character gets called into question? I think Joe thought he'd throw a touchdown pass, on that play. He puts his head down, and doesn't say much, but you know he believes in himself, at all times. As long as he believes in the play call, and likes what he sees pre-snap, he's always going to throw the ball. That's who he is, good, or bad.
Two horrible calls made a big difference in the game, both extending Eagles' drives. Both were instances of Zach Ertz running downfield and engaging our linebacker as though blocking them, with them being subsequently called for illegal contact. The scoring drive at the end would have possibly played out significantly different without this bogus call against Mosley by the stripes.
Designed to draw a flag, IMO.
in other words the eagles said, your quarter backs good for caughing up the ball, like everytime he gets hit and throws interceptions to let teams back in games, also your coaches don't make ajustments so teams can come back.can anyone say,MARVIN LEWIS and REX RYAN?
Is that what they said? Didn't read anything like that. Did I miss something?

You can cut Joe, whenever you want to. There are cap considerations, of course, but this ain't MLB. Are you saying that you'd pull the trigger, right now?
12 minutes ago, KidNme said:Wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets filled up faster John. That one dumb move nearly killed my (and our) season I was so mad! (I'm still mad!) Again, we're talking football 101! On the 10, You run 3 running plays, meander back to the line (We know you guys can do that one!) run the play clock down to 2 seconds on each one and if you don't punch it in, you kick a field goal (I only mention this because although I know we fans all know this but, evidently, Marty doesn't). We have no hope if we're going to continue to make these very simple and bonehead mistakes over and over again. You could take someone out of the stands and do better in the last 2 games we have left!
I'm not even going to go into detail where the heck Joe thought he was throwing it to. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID and it almost cost us our season! Joe says "Wow, Marty's going to let me get 3 TD's in this game" Seriously, THAT'S what you were thinking JOE? That tells me a lot too! I'd like to say it would be a different story if it were just me and my buddies playing out back but I know I would have run as much time off the clock by running the ball. A pitch out, Half back delay and at the most, I might have thrown a screen or end a round.
To make matters worse, later, when we're backed up to OUR OWN 10yd line, THEN, we decide to run it 3 times! SMH!!!!
A bad idea, obviously, and the execution was even worse, but I wouldn't go so far as to say Joe only care about stats, and not winning- if that's what you're implying. At times, he has a goofy way of expressing himself, and I think that's all it was. I'm more worried that, for the last two games, teams are flooding the middle of the field, and Joe isn't figuring it out.
If SSS is right, and if Flacco is missing passes, checking down too early, too lackadaisical, then what do we do? Flacco's not going anywhere. How do we get him to produce?
Monday night, when Brady chewed out Edelman, I wondered what Flacco would have done in the same situation with Pitta. They would have gone over to the sideline and laughed about it.
I feel bad for Smith. He wants to go out with a bang, and this team is not giving him that.Smith has said in the past, without being asked about it, that he prefers "calm", and that he loves playing with a qb with Joe's demeanor. He referenced a play in his first game here, where he dropped a pass, and came back to the huddle expecting to get chewed out, and Flacco simply called the next play. He also mentioned a time in his first training camp where he was yelling at Joe for not getting the ball, and Flacco simply responded, "get your depth." He raved about Flacco's leadership style and calm confidence, and again, he wasn't asked about it. He completely brought that up on his own.
Sometimes an emotional outburst is just that - an emotional outburst. It doesn't mean Steve Smith has any issues with Flacco.
Agreed.
Pressure up the middle, and the first tackler can't miss on those dink and dunk passes Brady loves to throw. Stay with that quick rhythm on offense. Let's hope the zebras don't hurt us too bad...
Funny that, last week, our passing attack looked a lot like the Patriot's. Lot's of moving parts in this matchup, of course, but Joe has to out-Brady next Monday night.
Flacco is not elite!! But he was good enough today. Hopefully this will continue, they have to run the ball in order to win. Tougher test next Sunday.
Nothing like a back-handed compliment,
How 'bout this- stop handing the ball off six yards behind the line of scrimmage when it's second and short yardage- most of the time we end up with third and five! Drives me crazy.

Yea they were killers. I just watched the holding on the screen call as well and that one was bogus. The guy is stumbling to the ground and Zuttah just finished him off and got down field to block for Juice. It just sucks because that's not a outcome determined by the 2 teams. It's the refs.
Well, when they don't show the penalty on replay, you can be sure it was baloney. I had to rewind to see the hold, and, like you said, the tackle was already off balance- Zuttah just gave him a shove, and there was no hold, at all. Kind of hard to hold, then release, and run downfield, right? Just one of a number of bad calls. Not that it's unexpected, in a big game like this...

However, he is HORRIBLE as an analyst and just wants to bring attention to himself. Just because Joe doesn't have his leadership style does not mean he is not a leader. Ray-Do us all a favor and use your passion to help out the community and leave Flacco alone! If he (or anyone else for that matter) want to criticize Flacco's play--Fine--He deserves that because we all know Flacco has not played well this year.--But don't question his leadership--That leadership helped bring you a 2nd title!
Don't assume you know what I meant- I only said this was for Joe's ears, as well. I didn't say Ray was right, and I didn't say it was something Joe needed to hear. Frankly, I don't much care what Ray, four years after his last game, has to say,at this point in time...
Ray said this for Joe to hear...
We need a statement game from our offense.
