  1. Bill Belichick failed at his first try at HC too. I'm not saying we should hire Hostler, just that he us a qualified in-house candidate.

I mean come on..even John can't even compare to Belichick's success, but what has Hostler done to make him even sniff at OC or HC?  His resume is as thin as paper.....

  2. Actually he will be bringing the "same" offense. It's the same offense he ran in Washington with McNabb and Rex, only difference is he was able to make some tweaks to fit what his current player does well. The principles of the offense doesn't change. No Flacco won't be running the read option, but if you look at the times Kirk Cousins played, neither did he.

The offense doesn't change, the design does and that's something I really like about him because he's able to adapt to what personnel he is given unlike some other coaches we've had.

We fans nail on who is bad and good for OC but the front page article keeps praising on Hostler which is scary to watch for the upcoming season.....

  3. That's your answer right there. I think the Ravens are fed up with trying to make tweaks to the Croyell offense. Yes Norv runs it better then anybody else, but outside of Pitta how does this team fit that offense any more? Yes with Joe's big arm the vertical passing game is great, but that heavy reliance on isolation routes doesn't suit Joe or any of our WRs.

imo once we committed to the ZBS, the Croyell was being phased out imo. And for good reason

Time to part ways completely with Coryell system.  The system is damn old, and if we want to be successful, we need new things that fits to our personnel.

The system was like 34 year old....

Belichick is always successful with his scrub WRs cuz he is creative and willing to go outside of the box....

    PS: I want Kyle Shanahan....

  4. Good question. We've got our burner, Torrey Smith, to stretch the field. Marlon Brown is pretty much another T.J. Houshmandzadeh IMO, a possession receiver and redzone weapon. Jacoby, I don't see coming back. Missing from our group is a quick receiver ala Andrew Hawkins/Wes Welker and one who is physical ala Anquan Boldin/Brandon Marshall.

You said it all about our needs in WR...

But we need a better OC who can help those guys excel....

  5. I just saw the Kyle Shanahan has been fired. That is a guy that I would not mind interview to be our OC. I've seen a lot of creativity in his offense (despite their struggles this year, not entirely his fault obviously). Any thoughts on that potential?

I like his creative design on the running game.....

  6.

Correct. Ed didn't play in the first 2 games of the season (Houston won both) and his team(s) have lost every game since. His stats are: 28 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 0 interceptions.................where's all the Ozzy doubters now? Still, as a fan, I hope maybe we can work out a league minimum, one game deal so he can retire a Raven.

I'm sure positive when he is ready to retire, the FO will do whatever it takes to see that he retires a Raven. They did something for Mason when he decided he wanted to retire a Raven, you know they will accomodate Reed.

He's bound to win one game right? I mean, the Jets won't really lose out right?

I knew it was time to move on from Reed and I said he would have the same type of season that Mason had after we cut him, but it is still sad to see it.

When the Jets are about the win one, it is after Reed getting slammed once again......

  7. Sucks how his career is ending.  Reminds me of Gonzalez.

how so? Ed won a SB and Gonzalez won none...big difference..

I don't mind Ed running around doing some crazy thing cuz he'll end up in Ravens ROH when he retires..

I like Gonzalez's loyalty but he needs to close his chapter with a SB with another team though.....

  8. This is why I hate player's agents.. Boldin says he had NO CLUE he was going to be traded. He said he was shocked to find out. Something tells me his agent played dirty with us and forced us to trade Boldin. If Boldin really had no clue and this was all his agent, then I feel really bad for him. His agent should have been in contact with him about the entire situation, and should have told him everything that was happening. I'm positive Boldin would have accepted the 2M pay cut with no issue but his agent was the one who made a big deal out of it.

    http://profootballta...t-was-shocking/

wow, he should know most agent or all agents are greedy like a son of the gun so I think it's best for players to keep up-to-date infomation about their situation if they are intended to stay; however, if they look for money, they can let their agents do all the dirty work which is what they are best at.

I felt bad for Boldin cuz nobody can really excel Boldin's capability except Joe/Caldwell.....

    I was shocked too........

  9. I've always supported the idea of bring Q back; Q is an essential, crucial part of our offense for next 2 years. During that time, we can find Q replacement, but right now nobody can replace Q's production and leadership.

I hope Ozzie places his priority on Boldin instead of Ellerbe because Ozzie is the master or genius of drafting defensive players. He can find us a good or great MLB from the draft or through FA.

Joe is the general of the offense and Q is the colonel of the offense so we need Q to lead the WR corps....

Like some of us have mentioned, we can add bonuses on Q's contract so his salary won't affect the cap issues that much...
