i rememeber the good ol days when we were competetive
We've been competitive. We've been in just about every game, despite the losing season and 8-8. Our D lost many games in 4th. We're ensuring that doesn't happen anymore. We're very close. Just on the cusp.
offense gonna be a joke like it always is. if you can put up atleast 13 pts on the ravens youll win the game because they cant put up points and that will always be true with an ozzie built team
Yet somehow, they've been an incredibly successful franchise. I'll place my bet on Oz. I may lose sometimes, but I'll win a lot.
Williams is an excellent, but one-dimensional pass rusher. Ravens passed on Godwin (WR from PSU), several remaining OL, and even some other Edge rushers (Lawson, etc.). Hope Ozzie has some good inside info on this kid, because Bowser looks like another "too cute, too soon" pick in the 2nd.
That's exactly what Doom was/is. One-dimensional

All Flacco needs is a top defense and a running game. He's much better when he's a game manager. In the big picture, we'll be OK.
4 minutes ago, The Negotiator said:We have to score that is also part of the game. Pertect our Qb and o yes Bengals and Steelers have really good Defences. Your right we dont need to score. All the wasted defensive players we drafted last year must not be good. Thanks for clearing it for us idiots!!!
You're welcome
I think Harbs is right. I think we are close to being a top team again. And I do appreciate that they are trying to get better. Just takes time to turn a big ship around.
So many changes... I'm excited about this coming season. Our defense looks really good.
Our offense still needs to plug up some holes, and we all know that's been a weakness before.
I am starving for Football.... Let's get this season going.
Ya. I'm excited too. But this time, I'm not setting expectations. I'm just going to enjoy it and hope for the best.
rise must be fun to take to parties
HAHAHAHAHA
Got to admit, he's one of the smartest posters here; along with Jacket. But man...we were going to cut Zuttah anyways. Did we gain the world? No, but at least we got a little more out of doing that deal, instead of just dropping Zuttah.
Good teammate, good guy, but production and speed due to injuries has been spotty and his switch to safety just took him too long to adjust and produce. He did better towards the end of the year but why train an old vet to start in a new position when you have an outstanding 25 year old young talent to replace him. AND his cap hit due to a bad contract was just too much to absorb. Maybe resigned as a punt returner or ST guy at a vet minimum? Probably not.
Took him a few games to adjust. He ended up being more than serviceable. He was actually really good at safety. But ya, we definitely had to cut him for the reasons you laid out. No doubt about it.
solid raven. maybe if there isnt an interest in him from other teams we can resign him. best of luck webb
I was thinking the same exact thing. Although highly unlikely, I'd love it if he ended up back with us. Very solid player, FANTASTIC open field tackler, and a good leader. He just cost too much after those injuries. He got paid top CB money at the time, and it was deserved. But those injuries made it very hard to justify paying him. I will miss him. One of my favorite Ravens, for sure.
Webb's gone now.
Ya. Kind of expected it. And I understand. But I'm not going to lie - he was always one of my favorite Ravens. He will be missed.
I hope BWill stays hungry after this. I'm glad we're keeping him, but that is a HUGE price tag for a DT. In my opinion.
Keeping Wallace is fantastic. I think Perriman is going to really breakout this season.
If you don't like the addition of TJ you're just trolling.
Don't know who wouldn't like that.
Anybody have any theories on why a roster spot is being filled by yet ANOTHER running back in Woodhead? If there were ever a position we do NOT need, that'd be it; in my opinion.
Assuming we get a good replacement for Wagner, the offense will be fine. Forget it, this team's defensive needs are staggering.
Jefferson is a great first step. Pay Williams whatever he wants,,,,,he makes everyone around him a better player while eating 2 blockers and closing up the middle of the defense. if we don't resign Williams this team will be lucky to finish 8-8. He is a freakish talent that can not be replaced. Give him a 10 year deal for 80 million..........or whatever.
Last year the defensive front seven was one of the deepest and most talented in the NFL and won a lot of games for us. The secondary let us down especially when the china doll ( Jimmy Smith) exited for his regular stint at polishing the pine. Also accept that Suggs is done...no longer a dominant player and now barely effective. Cut or trade Suggs and Smith. Arrington and Wright were appropriately cut as should be Dumervil and Webb.
Getting rid of these players leaves a lot of holes as does the loss of Orr.
We need 2 top tier corners.
We need a bad butt middle lb to play with Mosely
We need 2 top tier corners to play with Young.
We need 4-5 DL/LB to play with Pierce, Jernigan and Guy.
We have to assume Corriea and Kafusi are busts along with Davis.
Z Smith should be given a chance to show he can dominate or be let go.
To fix this team Flacco needs to restructure,,,,,,,,,if he doesn't cut him and go with Mallett...he can get us to 8-8 at 10% of the price.Problem is, you can't just "pay Williams whatever he wants." There's this thing called the salary cap. The difficulty is figuring out how to spread that money while retaining top-tier talent and keeping people happy. This isn't the MLB.
Apparently run stopping NTs who play half of the defensive snaps win SBs for you...
NM - took me a sec. lol

What is the point of posting such an unfeasible agenda for the offseason? On another note, I think you should set up a time to grab a few cold ones with Chuckx99 at some point. You guys seem to be on the same page. There is no doubt in my mind that the two of you would get along famously.
LOL

Still scratching my head over the Woodhead signing.
Not surprised by this at all. Seems like a nice guy. But I'm glad. He was only productive when Suggs was healthy. He's a one-trick pony, and he hasn't been too good at that trick lately. I know his health wasn't great. But other than the 17 sack year, I don't recall a whole lot of production.
Good luck to Wagner and thank God for us not paying him that kind of money. I'm sure we'll hear another ridiculous offer to our run stopper B. Williams. Then it'll be good luck to him and thank God for us all over again. Why in the world are we the only team that seems so hamstrung with cap space year in and year out with nothing to show for it in terms of production and wins? Frustrating.
It rhymes with wacko
If the Browns give up a first round pick for a backup QB, it will indicate that nothing has changed with regard to how their organization does things. Puts things in perspective when I complain about the Ravens. Sheesh...glad I'm not a Browns fan.

This guy was likely picked specifically for ST. Sometimes we forget that 1/3 part of the game. It's just as important.
