  1. nonsense! compare this season's secondary to last season's and you'll see a night and day difference; especially in the turnover department. Pay attention. Frazier turned the secondary around. Another season would have done us wonders.
  2. All 47 fans are irate!
  3. Lot of happy fans today.
  4. hahaha. here's to hope!
  5. Well, I guess it was a lose/lose scenario. Clearly throwing the ball more than running didn't do us any good. So which is it? Ineffective run game or ineffective pass game? That's precisely why balance is needed. The imbalance of the offense was incredibly disgusting, and resulted in many losses. You simply CANNOT do that with Joe Flacco throughout an entire season. He ain't that guy. Never has been, never will be. The results are obvious.
  6. Let me rephrase that statement: "We haven't been there much." Better? In 4 years, we've been once. This is the Ravens. The bar of high expectations was set a long time ago - that bar has not been met..."lately." And comparing the frequency in which a team makes the playoffs to how often a team reaches the super bowl is quite silly.
  7. who said anything about those guys? and you can't bring up the post season - we haven't been there lately.
  8. They seldom gave the run game a chance. You can't build on something that has no foundation. They were slinging the rock from the get go. Hell, even in obvious running situations, they'd throw. Now, you may not have the best run game, but that shouldn't be a cause for complete abandonment of that aspect of the game. Simply put, Flacco isn't good enough to carry an offense for an entire season. He NEEDS a run game to excel. I understand your argument, and it is valid to a point. The YPC wasn't awesome, but it was enough to use the ground game more. Ground wasn't working, but neither was the pass game - obviously. So I guess it's moot. lol And yes, we get Joe for eternity. But if it's garbage next year, something has to give.
  9. The Flacco Defender Squad is out in full force today! They feel validated by Steve Smith's remarks. If it's BECAUSE of the system: Why not keep it simple by running the ball more? If it's BECAUSE of the injury: Why not keep it simple by running the ball more? If it's BECAUSE the receivers dropped passes: Why not keep it simple by running the ball more? New OC, bum knee, "bad receivers" - no problem! We'll throw it 670 times. That's the solution! The points in Joe's defense do have validity - but Joe is still the one playing and throwing and leading the offense; so he inherently is accountable for the way he plays. If we get the same ol' next year, then what? What excuses will be made then? If by then you can't accept reality, then you're either too stupid to see it, or you're turning a blind eye because you're emotionally invested in Joe Flacco. Next year better be different!
  10. I would be thrilled if he could assume the mantle of 'game manager' and do what is in the best interest of a victory! We can win a couple of SBs with him adopting that role imho. He must be protected no matter what for him to be successful. His achilles heel has always been pressure that makes him commit critical errors in judgment that either don't end up in a FD/TD or end up being intercepted. He cannot be expected to be Tom Brady who can dissect any defense you throw at him because he isn't very good at it either. But give him a strong running game and force him to comply with the game plan and give him sure handed receivers that can make contested catches and he'll excel. Let's hope that this is exactly what the Ravens plan on doing for him moving forward. I agree. He should just play within himself. I want to see the 25 TDs, 10 picks, 3,600 yards and a 12-4 record. Keep it simple.
  11. I agree. He's the same guy we've always seen. Not much improvement over the years. 2014 was a really good year, and apparently that's because he was held accountable.
  12. Still not good enough to raise the prices. If they raise the prices, and put out another mediocre team in 2017, they'll have to start giving tickets away in 2018 just to fill seats. Fans can be loyal, but loyalty is not throwing hard earned money in the garbage.
  13. You make too much sense to post in here. A lot of these guys thinks we pass to the tight end because the QB is his friend .LOL Dude you watch that game against the Bengals? Apparently not, because Flacco left wide open receives hanging and pitched it to his buddy. I'd say there's some truth to that - after all, Pitta needed x amount of catches to meet incentives. It's not that far fetched, especially for a game like that. Oh, and watch Flacco throw that beautiful pick in the end zone, directly into the defense...who was he passing it to? Pitta.
  14. i mean we were not a good running team - otherwise we'd run it more - do you really think the coaches dont want to run the ball or that they want to lose? we could have run the ball more, maybe should have, but we definitely needed to run the ball better - there's no point running into a brick wall for short to no gains repeatedly just to have the opposing team swallow it up without even having to brink a safety down into the box - we did not run the ball well which obviously makes it more difficult to run the ball consistently We were a decent running team. And even if you aren't you don't completely abandon that aspect of the game. Look at the results...clearly the offensive decision making was poor.
  15. Hey. Want to buy my toaster oven? It works sometimes, and I have raised the price.
  16. Ya. Another running back is what we need. That way we have 3 good RBs that'll barely touch the ball. THAT'S the answer. Phew - now my confidence is restored.
  17. You're dead wrong regarding the 4th round: CB Tavon Young - STARTER WR Chris Moore - not there yet, but has shown a lot or potential, and this dude is going to be good OL Alex Lewis - STARTER DT Willie Henry - Yet to see what he can do RB Kenneth Dixon - STARTER (Shares snaps with West) I don't know what you're smoking, but you need to quit. That is an insanely productive 4th round. Most teams can only dream of getting that talent in the 4th round.
  18. That 4th round is insane! That's an unbelievable group of guys, especially for 4th round. My god.
  19. I agree. Zuttah is a solid C. They aren't easily replaced. He had his rough moments, as you stated, but I would not cut him unless we had something lined up to replace him. Otherwise, he's staying put.
  20. Both sides of the ball choked. When one was doing well, the other blew it. Yes, Flacco sucked. But we're stuck with him.
  21. I'm not too high on the idea of resigning B. Williams anymore either. The dude flat out disappeared in the last quarter of the season. He's going to cost way too much anyways, then he'll get signed by another team, then under perform.
  22. Well, we have 18 TEs on the roster, so maybe start there. Then move onto a secondary that has a bunch of pine riders who SUCK and should not even be on the practice squad. Then get rid of doom - he's useless. We all saw how inept he was when Suggs was out last season; and then this season, well, not much different.
  23. Stats were not implied. Not in the least bit. (Now I'm comforted to know that you cannot read minds) And you, sir, are the one that keeps bringing it up. And even if I did bring up stats, you can't just completely ignore them anyways. To a degree, they are a reflection of the player. Of course there are many variables; but generally speaking, if your stats are consistently bad, then it stands to reason that the player is not all the good. In fact, a QBs stats can have a direct impact on the teams wins and losses. For example, look at Joe's stats for 2013, 2015 and 2016 - all mediocre. And guess what? The team was mediocre too. Now look at 2014 - quite possibly Joe's best statistical season - what do you know - the team as a whole was successful. You see the correlation between the team's performance and Joe's stats? Remember the words of SSS: "We go as [Flacco] goes." Can't argue with that. To your point regarding the FO - Not once did I question them, nor did I mention them. I simply pointed out Joe's massive contract, and rhetorically asked: "What do we have to show for it?" One playoff appearance since, and a losing record over that span. That's what we have to show for it. And I hope Joe has some good football in him. Trust me, I want him to be awesome. But as of late, he most certainly has not been playing good football. 20 TDs and 15 picks won't win you much ball games. (Like those stats?)
