  1. The Patsies are the best team in the NFL at overcoming injuries. That is because no matter who is out there, they know the system inside and out. Heck, they went 3-1 without Brady. (Remember the year Brady was out all season and they went 11-5?) This team is a well oiled (cheating) machine. Gronk being out will not overly affect them adversely. But, being a Ravens defender, you have to like NOT having to guard Gronk.
  2. I think Suggs was posing for the new Victoria's Secret catalogue
  3. Zeke is awesome. But the dude has holes you can drive a tank through because his o line is the absolute best. No knock on him; but Ajayi had no holes...he created them. And then his YAC is incredible. I think he leads the league in YAC, as well as YPC at 5.2. He's better than Zeke, IMO.
  4. West is an awesome back. Dixon shows he can be. But ya, Ajayi is crazy good.
  5. Oh please. Great game. No complaints needed or warranted. I agree with you on this one. No clue what he means by "lethargic." They were not perfect; but c'mon.
  6. They need to punish Marsha Brady. I want to see her throwing temper tantrums, and getting her panties in a bunch all game long.
  7. 1) Ajayi is the best RB in the league. Holy, freaking, crap. His O line actually sucks. He creates yards with his power and elusiveness. The dude reminds of Lynch in his prime; but more elusive. As expected, the Ravens run D was in position to stop the run almost every time. However, Ajayi, somehow kept on breaking tackle after tackle. The Ravens are the best tackling D. They hardly miss them. That shows you how truly awesome Ajayi is. (OK, enough of that) ** The 6 points the Phins had was a gift. This game should've been a shutout. Pitta's knee was down before that ball came out. They have to get that right. That's what the replay is for. ** 2) I don't care if the Ravens barely ran the ball - they were taking what the defense was giving them. Flacco and the OC exploited it all game long. That's how you win football games. The run/pass ratio doesn't tell the whole story. 3) Flacco grew more and more confident as the game went on. He picked them apart. But more importantly, Flacco was fundamentally sound. He was not throwing off his back foot, he was not forcing throws (except for the miscommunication between him and Wallace; which he should've thrown away) This is what we have been waiting for. Granted, one game does not absolve him of responsibility for all the boneheaded plays and decision making he's made this season; but I'm hoping this game reminded him of what he can truly be. He ticks me off to no end, and when he sucks, he REALLY sucks. But this game was AWESOME!! Good job, Joe. (Not that you give a crap what I think) 4) Our defense is amazing. Aside from Timmy's idiotic taunting penalty, that dude is a darn good football player. Also, having Jimmy back is great. But we still need to be able to generate a pass rush without blitzing. When the Ravens blitz on 3rd down, they get beat seemingly every time. However, I appreciate Pees' willingness to be aggressive. (Against Marsha Brady and the Patriots, we'll need a 4/5 man pass rush. Brady kills blitzes like no other) 5) Perriman - if he remains healthy, the dude is going to be great. I love that we got Mike Wallace. Pitta - he sucks at blocking, but damn, dude can catch anywhere on the field. 6) With all of the talent the Ravens have on both sides of the ball, they should be great. Perhaps this game is a glimpse of their potential. But I'll be realistic about it. I want to see consistency. ST and D are great. Outside of today, the O is terrible. Hopefully that's going to change. 7) I rarely wear jerseys, but today, I put on my black, authentic Ed Reed jersey. I'll be wearing it every week from here on out, win or lose. This team drives me insane, especially Flacco. But damn...I love em. GO RAVENS.
  8. They blitzed like crazy against Dallas and got burned every single time.
  9. You're spot on. And what Ray stated with Whitlock absolutely made sense. Was it articulate? No. Ray is not an eloquent speaker. One thing about Ray, is what he says is unscripted, and he doesn't care about being politically correct. But he did make sense. He made it pretty clear that he was acting as if he was on the sidelines. The dude loves the Ravens, and he wants them to succeed. He was just saying what he'd say to Joe in person. And I feel his apology was genuine. Plus he was right.
  10. I'm hoping for one of those "I'm here!" games from him. Remember that game against the Rams in Torrey's rookie season? Dude just BLEW up. Then he was a solid receiver while here in Baltimore. I think Perriman is going to be much, much better than Torrey. It's coming - just watch. Oh, and that "drop" was an incredibly difficult ball to catch.
  11. Hahaha - ya. The offense is so bad, the organization is trying to come up with ways to get more points, because the offense certainly can't do it.
  12. So? So...as in the Ravens need to rely on other sources to get to the dance, and THEN, supposedly, Joe will crawl out of his hole of mediocrity and put the team on his back. At least that's what is expected. It's OK. Don't get offended. Not everyone here has purple, Joe Flacco underoos like you do.
  13. I had never seen it before. Can you site some examples of when it was done in the past? Be interesting to see how many times. Well, like I said, it's been used for decades; so other than the Ravens SB win, I don't remember specific examples. It's not something you see often, because it's seldom teams are in that exact scenario. But it certainly is nothing new.
  14. Why do people keep talking about the Ravens holding and taking the safety? This is not "genius". It's been used many, many times for decades. I've seen this play happen since I was a child. Any coach in his right mind would do this. People are talking like it's something new. It's getting annoying.
  15. Hahaha - I was wondering the same thing. That was Vontaze "Vlade Divace, Derrick Fisher" Burfict.
  16. I agree. Webb has actually been awesome. He's made a few errors here and there, but it's his first season at this position. But I think putting him back there was a great call.
  17. I wonder if Tucker will be the first kicker to get a vote for MVP? haha..but seriously, I'd vote for him. Without Tucker, we're probably 0-10
  18. Didn't think of it that way. Nice observation. It has been that way for a very long time.
  19. In all honesty, our 2nd and short yardage running has been so abysmal all season long that I don't blame them for spreading the defense out and trying to run that way... at least it shows me that they are aware of the issues and are scheming to avoid them. I can go back to just about any game this season and show people multiple instances where we either gained nothing or lost yardage on shorter 2nd down runs, usually in the 2nd and 3-4 or shorter. We've done it in I-formation with Juice as the lead back, we've tried multiple different backs, we've done single back, etc. Its just not working. Frankly, on 2nd and 1-2, I'd like to see us throw the ball and take some shots down field. Its really one of the ideal spots to do it... the defense is usually crowding the LOS to take away the run (at least the linebackers are) and if its an incompletion, you've got 3rd and short, where literally all play call options are available. Its a portion of our offense that needs to be fixed, and can mostly only be done via execution, not necessarily play calling. I see what you mean. Valid points, for sure. But a simple QB sneak would've gotten us the first down, and worst, been 3rd and the same. Oh well, guess it doesn't matter. Just glad we won.
  20. 1. I find this sort of ironic, considering its the fans who have been clamoring for a more "balanced" attack and running the ball more. Yet, when we clearly do that, our run game is average to below average and they are horrendous in short yardage situations, particularly in obvious running situations. 2. In their defense... most good NFL teams and coaches would tell you that running into a blitz is effective, particularly if that blitz is viewed as a pass rush blitz vs a run blitz. If blocked appropriately (and you don't even need to block everybody in this instance), the blitz will be ineffective because it will commit several players upfield away from where the ball is. At that point, if you can get to the 2nd level, its a huge play. Execution was the problem there, not necessarily the play call. I have no issue calling a run play on 2nd and 1 - that's exactly what should be done. But instead of calling a HB delay, when the D is clearly playing the run, why not just push it up and get the first down via HB gut, or QB sneak under center? At least you won't lose yards on the latter. So it wasn't the run, it was the TYPE of run that was incredibly stupid. Perhaps you're right on your second point. But I just can't see how calling a run that is directly INTO the blitz works out more often than not. The objective is to run AWAY from defenders.
  21. I'm glad we won. But man, this team is still very far from being a threat IF they make the playoffs. Today, I saw some of the worst play calling on the offensive side of the ball. In the first half, Ravens were nearing the red zone, it was 2nd and 1, and they called a FREAKING HB DELAY that got blown up. THEN, they run the off tackle on 3rd and 3, and that too got blown up. It was absolutely atrocious. In the second half, it was another 2nd and short, maybe 3. They're in the gun, defense shows a double A gap blitz. Flacco then audibles, then goes under center, and the run goes RIGHT INTO WHERE THE BLITZ WAS!!! I simply could not believe it. This game should not have been close. But when you have a moron at QB and a moron calling the plays, welp, you either lose, or barely win. Unbelievable. I hope they watch the tape and say: "What the hell was I thinking there?!?!"
  22. Has Jimmy ever had one full season of health?
