  1. There will always be instances where Joe has poort footwork that's who he is. Go back and watch him throughout his career and I don't care who the QB coach is, Hue, Zorn, Kubes or whoever, you'll see cases where Joe missed throwed because of poor footwork. He's 6'6 his mechanics will be poor from time to time because it's tougher for a taller QB to stay true with his mechanics consistently. Hell just look at both of Ben's ints this game, his mechanics were poor. So asking a tall QB to have perfect mechanics just isn't gonna happen. You'll have to show me where the disconnect is because I haven't seen it. Even with the so called worse play ever, what did Flacco say. I just thought Marty was given me a chance to have 4 TDs, i didn't see a problem with the call, I just need to execute better. Where's the disconnect? If we're talking disconnect between him and other coaches, that just comes from making a midseason change, which is exactly why he deserves a full offseason to implement his vision for this offense. Are there things I'd love to see improved offensively? Of course, but unless you can show me a proven OC that will take his place, Marty should be the OC moving forward.
  2. We're usually on the same page, but I have to completely disagree here. We're talking about Flacco recovering and actually coming back early from a major knee injury early in the season. Yes his mechanics were shot early on, but over the last 4-5 games of the season Flacco's mechanics has been really good and he's looked like one of the better QBs in the NFL save the NE game. I remember in the first half of the season just counting how many times Joe wouldn't step into throws was every game thing for me, now I don't even concern myself with it. Once the knee became a non issue for Joe he's been playing very well and has been lights out over the last 4 games. 119/173 68% 1173yds 9TDs 4Ints and that doesn't include plays not made like Wallers not catching a easy TD this game. Has 5 been perfect no, but he's been lights out and has put this team in position to win and Marty has a lot to do with that. If Joe's mechanics are your main basis for Marty not getting a full offseason with this offseason than I think it's you my friend that's off bases here. Tell me he's not running the ball enough, tell me the red zone offense isn't good enough, tell me he's not attacking defenses well enough, tell me episodes like SSS and Wallace throwing their helmets in back to back weeks is a sign that players aren't buying in but Flacco's mechanics? I can't get behind that.
  3. Go back and watch that Cowboys' game. That defense had no answer for what the Ravens were doing offensively. However penalties and mistakes cost this team yet again. So in that sense, yes they weren't the better team, but no way that score should have been 10-10 at half. The Ravens left far too many plays and points on the field. I'll give you the Pats game, we weren't clearly the better team, but I do think we were evenly matched talent wise. I agree with you on the Ravens being like the 20 others teams, because you are who your record says you are. The problem is, those few plays aren't just the difference between wins and losses. Those few plays like the Waller drop in the endzone and Pitta not coming up with a clutch play are causing this team to play necessarily tight games. Watch that Steelers game again and tell me you don't see where the Ravens should have scored 17-20 points in the first half of that game. It's those missed opportunities that change games for the Ravens because they force them to be much tighter at the end of games and this defense isn't built like that. I'm not sure those other 20 times can go but and look at games to say, wow we should have blown the Steelers out. Maybe they can say one or two plays here and there, this game is competitive or a win, but the Ravens should have scored early and often on that defense tonight and they blow it imo. Fix that and they are back to fighting for #1 or #2 seed in the AFC again.
  4. That's the difference between the Ravens being elite and missing the playoffs imo. I've said many times that there isn't a team in the NFL I don't the the Ravens can't beat if they play mistake free ball. The problem is they don't seem to be able to do so.
  5. I honestly don't see any reason for him to leave. Who are you bringing in that better than him? You have a very strong relationship between him and Joe. I think he's earned a full offseason to put his imprint on this offense. Also there has been a huge difference between he and Marc imo. The running game is more creative and despite the results not being there right now the play design in the redzone has been better. I'm fully comfortable of going into next year with Marty calling the shots and allowing Flacco and company to just grow within the offense instead of changing things up again. Improve the Center position and allow your young WRs, TEs and Rbs to grow in the same system instead of learning everything new. Remember years 1 to 2 are so crucial for young players and I don't think asking guys like Stanley, Lewis, Waller, Perriman, Dixon, Moore, Camp Boyle, Maxx and even West to learn a new offense is right when focusing on developing within the system should be the focus.
  6. I had Joe missing one throw in this game and that was a pass behind Pitta when he was getting hit. Other than that played so well, also Stanley did as well, but that's another thread. I'm usually not the guy to say others need to make him look better, but there were plays that guys just failed to make in this game and it cost the Ravens.
  7. Marty was not the problem in this game. He called a great game. Players just didn't show up when needed. Maybe they didn't attack deep enough but they definitely should have put up 38-41 points if guys just make the plays in front of them to make. The Steelers had no answer for what the Ravens wanted to do offensively imo. The Players just didn't make the plays.
  8. I know many people are ticked off right now, and to a certain extant I am too. But i'm gonna put a different twist on this outcome. Not only losing to the Steelers but the way they lost to the Steelers might just be a blessing in disguise. This loss should have highlighted a lot of shortcomings the Ravens have. So let's look at those shortcomings. 1. You must upgrade the interior of this oline. The offense had success in-spite of Zuttah and Ducasse. You must improve this asap. 2. Pass rush. This team needs someone who can provide some pressure with the game on the line. I'm not saying they need a Von Millr to take over the game, but you need someone who can show up. The FO has tried to improve in this area. So i don't know if it's just player development or adding new players, but the pass rush must improve. 3. Finding guys who can make plays on the offensive side of the ball. The difference in this game was the Steelers offensive players made the plays they needed to make, but the Ravens didn't. Both Pitta and Waller didn't covert on potential TD opportunities. That's a total of 11 points left on the field because of the bad snap FG attempt. That means the Ravens should have had at least 38 points on the board. That doesn't even factor in coming away with 0 points despite getting the ball twice at the 40 yardline with only 25 yards needed to get into Tucker's range. 4. Dean Pees. I'm a big fan of Dean's but the bend but don't break defense at the end of games has costed this team far too much. Again i'm a fan of his, so if he stays i wouldn't be too upset but something has to change with this defense in terms of closing out games in the 4th quarter. So hopefully this game highlights that. 5. This teams habit of shrinking in big games. You have a 10 point lead going into the 4th quarter and the pressure should have been on the Steelers instead it was squarely on the Ravens team and they folded(at least defensively). Imo and call me a homer. but the Ravens were clearly the better team among the Cowboys, Patriots and Steelers, yet this team shrunk in those big games. Is that a Harbs problem because this team isn't prepared or is that just a player issue because the players don't have that star power to make plays when they matter. Imo if the Ravens don't have any of these issues as a team right now they are easily a #1 or #2 seed.
  9. Crazy thing is, I have all the confidence in the world that the offense will score a TD here but it's the defense who will need to hold.
  10. Ravens just have to stay clam here. Without that big DPI they don't move the move down field and that Defense hasn't stopped the Ravens offense all game. Get the ball and drive it down field the same way you've done all game. Just keep doing what your doing. Oh and the Steelers just play Renegade but it seems like it worked for the Ravens.
  11. Oh yea but that's a big asset if run correctly. So i'd rather have too much of it in the offense instead of not enough. Of course. I got caught up in the emotions of the game. I agree. Focus on the W.
  12. When will this offense find guys who can step up big time in big time games. TD there and I think the game is over.
  13. I can't say it enough but the Ravens are clearly the better team imo. I just hope the final score show it and they finally clean up these foolish mistakes going forward. And for the record, i'm calling for a play action pass into the endzone here. I don't care how aggressive people think it is.
  14. Improve the Center and RG/LG positions (depending on where Yanda plays) and this offense will start to take off. I can't believe how much they are dominating the Steelers but the score doesn't show it because of mistakes.
  15. That screen to Wallace should have worked. He as to run inside where Stanley and Yanda are ready to block. The play to SSS was way too obvious. I would have liked to see it faked to SSS and sneak someone behind the DBs.
  16. A huge play from Play action is coming because the Steelers safeties are making too many tackles near the LOS in the run game. I'm calling a Play action crossing pattern to Perriman.
  17. Holding them to a FG is huge. They gave the Ravens a good shot but could only come away with 3. The Ravens must score here to keep pressure on them. 17-10 is big, 21-10 is huge
  18. Definitely agree but his numbers are eye poppingly better than Hightower's but as you said that speaks to the Pro Bowl more than the players.
  19. Again the Steelers can not, I repeat can not handle the Ravens if the Ravens just do their jobs. This should honestly be a blowout right now, but I'll take a 7 point lead if they just keep it going.
  20. Someone tell me why Orr isn't in the Pro Bowl again?
  21. Right but you at least give your team another shot at 3rd down again instead of it being 4th down because of the drop. The Ravens needed a TD in that situation and another shot at the endzone could have been the difference.
  22. Because he's a team favorite and his stats suggest he's had a great year. But much like Forsett, if these young guys outplay him he should be gone. yes Barnidge is the guy i'm thinking of.
  23. the TE for the Browns I can't remember his name, but he makes that catch. Hell I'd even go as far to say Boyle or Waller would have made the play. Pitta has to make that play period.
