  1. He was reduced to almost bystander under kubiak you have o think with his record and poor results he would have reduced to that again. I wouldn't doubt that he given a chance to leave before getting fired and have that on his resume.

In any case it's a win Baltimore in a big way. My prayers go out to the Buffalo Bills. Their O-line (and whatever QB) is in big trouble.

  2. The top two FB contracts are Olawale (Raiders) Sherman (Chiefs) at roughly $6mill/3yr and and only a third guaranteed. It drops sharply off of a cliff after that. I can see testing the market having the same rude awakening as when Justin Forsett thought he was going to cash out. There isn't much market value for even the best FBs so I see the same small money /short term contract comice kyle's way. Its pennies from us or pennies from another team.

From the moment of the announcement that the Ravens drafted Perriman, I was screaming Noooooo! Another wasted #1 pick for a guy known as a ball dropper from a middle level school. What the hell are they thinking? Then, some mysterious knee injury crops up, preventing him from playing for an entire season. Oh yeah, he will be much faster on a repaired knee. Good grief.

I wouldn't put too much stock in ball dropping in college. There are multiple reports I've read with historical data showing there's very little correlation between drops in college and drops in the Pros.

He doesn't need to be much faster either. He could even be a little bit slower, and he'd be just fine. He's expected to be more versatile and dynamic than a Torrey Smith or Mike Wallace.

Perriman is less versatile than either Wallace or Smith. Then again the biggest mistake we made was trying to turn Smith into short range possession to suite Kubiak's "high percentage philosophy/ Sometime you simply have to let speed do what it does.

  4. "...get a tackle after the first round to work with respected Offensive Line Coach Juan Castillo. "

I got such a chuckle out of that. the O'line has moved backwards since handing it back over to Castillo.  The sharpness and precision we saw under kubiak is gone. It has nothing to injury and everything to do with execution. This just another article to keep Castillos name out the mud just like there first PR campaign for him last off season.

An unseasoned MLB is a sitting duck as he's going handle communications. When the see a look he can exploit we're stuck with whatever the DC sent in. Even if an offense show a vulnerable look we can exploit that inexperienced MLB doesn't have the IQ to pick up on it ,communicate it ,or audible out. MLB isn't all about brawn and stats.

And that's why we have Mosley to handle communications.

A good offense will exploit inexperience at any position on the defense.

Mosley isn't there yet. not by a long shot.

Arthur Brown is no linebacker. Second round special team player at best. Orr could be good but another year will tell. Problem now is just like the secondary there is no experienced players in that position. Since the SB Ravens have too much kaos going on at key positions.

Lack of experience probably isn't a bad thing either, considering it's not really a position that requires it.

  7. The idea of plugging i safety is ridiculous. THE AFC North still runs and we have to be prepared. in addition to that there's no way we trust communication and adjustment to anyone listed. You can't draft NFL experience so June 1 casualty is our best hope IMO. OTOH there seems to be an idea among fans that we can just pick up replacements like this at the corner store.

  8. They thought there was no market for him and he'd come crawling back for pennies. He wasn't a QB killer. That Doom's job. Upshaw was the run stuffer , edge setter, and he did both well. That's why Doom and Upshaw were swapped in and out. He wasn't a complete LB but what he brought is not easily replaced. in addition to Upshaw we don't have veteran presence at MLB. We have have some work to do.

  9. Did we really have to play KO at Left Tackle for those last couple games? Not only did we price him out of a guard contract, but we let the whole league get a chance to see how good he was. Another strange coaching decision.

Ozzie mentioned that it allow him to maximize his value to the league. i think they came to terms with him leaving right after Yanda got his deal done.
