    50% average...amazing!

2009- Rookie mistake with a middle of the field pass against the Steelers end of game to take the lead for the win.

2012- Lee Evans drops the ball

    2013- Superbowl MVP

2015- Pats cheated with eligbiles, cheated with not letting us sub and cheated with defeated balls. Flacco was out slinging Tom and the pats had to cheat to overcome two 14-point deficits.

Playoff Joe is the truth! If we can carry the man to the post season he turns into a HOFer!

Could you site your actual evidence for this theory? More than just supposition of what might have been.

The ravens got duped into that contract.....me personally I would of let him walked cause now they are stuck with him cause they cant trade him with that cap hit and for sure cant release him so good job ravens smh

So you would have let him walk? And he would have gotten a very similar contract from another team and we would have Shaub, RG3 or Bif Johnson as a QB. There are 32 teams and 12 decent or better QBs.

Meaningless game? There is never a meaningless game, some players are playing for their careers. Perhaps coaches too!

Well good for those players and coaches, but those guys don't pay the bills. The fans do. The games are played with the sole purpose of getting to the SB, and this game isn't going to get anyone closer to that goal. At least not if it is played full tilt to win. It could be used to get a team toward a future SB, as a measuring device.

The dead money for what? Cutting or trading Joe? $47.3M in 2017. That's the cap cost of cutting or trading Joe.

In short, there's five veterans on this roster where it makes virtually no sense to cut after this season:

Flacco, Jimmy, Yanda, Weddle and Suggs. You can make a very weak case for dumping Suggs, but from a cap perspective, I don't see it. MAYBE post June 1st.

Other than those guys, from a cap perspective, everybody is expendable the way I see it (excluding rookie contract guys).

If any moron starts discussing moving on from the guys above, they are morons, don't understand the financial side of football, and there's no point in discussing with them further.

All of these "lets move on from Flacco" guys are clowns. They know nothing.

Isn't web on that list too?

Yeah but fan desires don't matter in the grand scheme of things. At some point fans have to look themselves in the mirror also, and ask themselves who they want to be?

From what I see, I'd say the Ravens FANS themselves are a 1-5, or a 2-4 team. Certainly below average. If you're content with being a below average fan, be my guest. Some people strive to be better.

Please enlighten us, oh wise one, what it takes to be a "better" fan. And then, oh wise one, let us know of the credentials you carry, and who it is that empowered you to know these things. We wait desperately for your wisdom.

NY has a much tougher defense than Washington or Oakland and we couldn't do anything against those teams. I hope Ronnie Stanley's return pays off. I would love more than anything to steal this one. We got the Jets after who are not a good team. 5-2 would be a good start before the bye. You could be looking at a 6-2 record after that if we beat Pittsburgh, then we got Cleveland and you could see 7-2 right there. I think we should calm down a bit. But I'm growing sour on Trestman and think we should start looking for an OC soon.

I cannot see this team beating the Steelers. Maybe the Jets and maybe the Browns. The rest of our schedule looks unbeatable by the team that played the last couple of weeks. Unless someone puts a boot into the players behinds, I just don't see it.

  7. Am I the only one that wouldn't mind seeing the Steelers do good? This isn't like years past where they made us hate life, we practically own them at this point and id rather the ravens and Steelers work together to show the Bengals that we Are still big brother lol

You must be the only one. You think the yinzers are obnoxious now? Let them get a seventh ring and the football world will never hear the end of it. I would love to see them beat the living tar out of the Patriots though, then lose in the SB. My preference would be to see the Broncos win it all, since it would be nice to let Manning go out with another ring. If not them then the Panthers.

  8. Yes, it absolutely applies to this game. Every day matters. Losing in a competition will never be for the greater good. Always do your best. If you're not trying to do your best, why do anything at all?

Now see, we agree here, completely. There is no reason to try and lose. At the least, the young players will learn to play better in a real game rather than one where they are supposed to lose for a draft pick. Dropping a game is never acceptable.

  9. I think this is in response to my post, not Mili's? I guess let me put it this way to answer your questions. I hate people who are okay with losing something that's actually competitive. It's one thing as a fan to be okay with losing. There's nothing any of us can do but yell like neanderthals and pray for a false start or delay of game. It's okay to lose to to your grandson on purpose. But people who are okay with losing are indeed pathetic, and this goes for all parts of life, not just pro sports. Ray Lewis once said, "Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre.” And what bothers me is the people that are okay with being mediocre. Losing to get a better draft pick isn't greatness.

In theory we agree. We just disagree in verbiage. It is okay to lose, since losing is inevitable. No one always wins. Anyone who competes knows that. It is not okay to try and lose (for the most part) or to be content with your losses. And anyone who whines and cries for losing is just a poor loser. Not that you should be happy about it. But you can learn more from losing than from winning. Hopefully, the Ravens did some learning.

  10. You'd rather our team lose than compete to the very end?  My goodness!  SMH!!

    Well said....

    Might as well! lol

While I get your point, "hating" losers is a bit excessive. As is claiming someone that loses on purpose is pathetic. In any competition, someone has to lose. Do you hate them? And when I play games with my little grandson, sometimes I let him win. Is that pathetic? What I hate is blanket statements. That being said, I agree that the Ravens should try to win every game and let the draft picks fall where they may.

  11. Both our teams were a part of thrilling wins this week. That is pretty cool hey? I know you guys hate us most likely as much as Pittsburgh and New England but last night I admit we were very fortunate to win that. Controversial call or not the Lions should have been able to defend a 65 yard hail Mary. I don't get why the defenders don't try to knock it down instead of going for the interception. It always ends up being a disaster when teams do that. I hope you guys get back on track next year. Has losing Rice, Boldin and Suggs have that big of an effort on the Ravens? I thought before the season 11-5 would be the Ravens record. I still don't think we will get far in the playoffs either. I was hoping for a Ravens Packers Super Bowl.

I always considered the Packers to be the opposite of the Patriots.Everyone hates the Pats and everyone loves the Pack. At least they have nothing against the Packers, except for Bears fans I suppose.

  12. And with this officiating some still think that the NFL is putting a great product on the field. Unbelievable.

Can't blame the officials. They aren't given any 'realistic' guidance, training or professional standards to comply with. Completely inconsistant, subjective, revolving judgement calls that change week-to-week.  It's amateur posing as exceptable at best.

That lack of training is their own fault. They didn't want the NFL to make any changes in their side jobs of being refs. That is what the whole temp ref issue was about.

  13. Sorry to those of you guys who want losses in favor of a draft pick, some of us delusional fans believe we can go on an 8 game win streak. How do you guys feel about this win as far as the season goes? Do you want the team to keep losing or do you believe we can win the remaining games on our schedule?

I do not think there is a snowballs chance in a pizza oven that we are going to win 8 in a row, but I want wins anyway. As many as we can get. I know that is contrary to getting a higher draft pick, but picking high guarantees nothing anyway.

  14. I don't bet, but I would bet against it.

We went over this....our Good Teams in the last decade never could string more than 4 wins together.  How is this receiver and defense depleted team going to win 8 in row.............much less 2 in a row.

The Jaguars are going to end this silliness.  They can throw the ball and we can't stop the pass. Rather than hope for a crazy outside of the script turn around....we need to focus upon how to improve for next season.

Agreed. And I am curious how exactly WE (fans here at a forum with no link or connection to team building in any way) are going to improve our team? Prayer? Hope? Wishful thinking? A letter to Santa? What ever the plan is, lets get on it!
