  1. Man that is cold. Sort of true, but still cold. And funny.
  2. Not ranted on, but you are suggesting that we pick up a 3rd high dollar pass rusher when we have so many other positions that need to be filled. Another DT would be a luxury, even if he did fit our defense.
  3. Maybe its guys that want to contribute to the conversation and do not have anything relevant to say.
  4. Yeah it was, but it happens every year. Its sort of funny.
  5. How so? Honestly, I am curious what "this fan's" rational is on the matter. And so you know, I am not disagreeing, If Monroe wants too much money then it would be foolish to try and keep him regardless of what we have already shelled out. The whole "good money after bad" concept.
  6. Certainly, but it would seem that it would be prudent to plan for multiple contingencies. Besides, 16 mill is a lot to swallow were he head and shoulders above all others at his position. That is just a lot of money against the cap. Seems like they would plan the whole thing better. I don't pretend to know anything about those sorts of dollars, but from the outside it looks like a foolish setup, and the Ravens are not the only team to lock themselves up that way. They all do it. Just seems like it could be set up better somehow.
  7. It was the Ravens that made the deal. They should have structured it a little better so that Ngata would have less leverage at this stage. How is Joe's deal structured? Will the team be better able to convince him to renegotiate when the time comes?
  8. Again, agreed. But it would still suck to lose Pitta. I like him. I like the camaraderie that he and Joe have.
  9. Agreed. But it would suck to lose Pitta.
  10. That's one. Lets move on to two. Whatever that is.
  11. Agreed, all teams do it and it is just the business of the NFL.But doesn't it seem goofy that the team and the player both know that there is no way that the full contract will ever mature, yet everyone signs it anyway? Why not just be realistic from the start and negotiate a contract that both sides know will carry on to the end barring unforeseen circumstances?
  12. I think that the Seahawks did all the little things right. After all this wasn't some scrub team they were playing, this was Peyton Manning and the team that led the AFC all year. Seattle was just killer. I am glad it wasn't us playing them in New York. How embarrassing.
  13. Keith is actually UN-dead, so...
  14. I wonder what Goodel will do this time. You know he CANNOT have a blowout in the super bowl. I expect too see a lot of questionable penalties vs the Seahawks in the second half.
  15. It is not an absolute certainty. Prior success does indicate that the person is competent and can do the job. Most people base their decisions for anything on past experiences. Typically any hire for any type of job is based upon prior experience and knowledge.
  16. That is sort of a "glass half empty" view. Hostler would have had the same hand in our SB run, right? Maybe that is who he really is. Could be. We really do not know much about his style as an OC short of a brief period in San Fran. There are known good points about him. His players like him and it is good to be liked by your players. Look at Pagano. His unknown quality could be bad. But there is good and bad to all of them. At least this time they are interviewing several people for the position. I am willing to trust Harbs and see what we come up with in the end. Some of the big name guys that were tossed out there may not have wanted to be coordinators. Maybe they are holding out for those HC spots.
  17. And other teams fans and FOs may think the same of Pitta. I like him, a lot, but he is not a top 10 TE. He works well for us because of his chemistry with Joe.
  18. I'm not suggesting you do. Relatively sane people like us have a hard time guessing what the deranged may do. After all, did you see Kruger getting the money he got?
  19. He might. Another team with deeper pockets ans less sense could give it to him. Just like Kruger. Not that I am saying we should or would match a stupid offer, just saying he could get one.
  20. I thought it was presumed that Juan was brought in to replace Caldwell. That was the rumor I heard. If not, then I agree, any blood, so long as it is new to us, can't hurt.
  21. Now that Joe has matured he has proven to be comparable to Brady at least. He DID outplay him the last few times the two teams met. Once could be a fluke, twice is a habit.
  22. Well that sucks. A lousy useless 6th round pick. Boldin was far more valuable to the team than a 6th round pick will ever be. Well I guess the Doss fanboy club is just all puckered up with glee. They get to see Dropsy Doss drop some more balls.Great!! The business side of football really sucks. Fortunately we know that Oz typically has some plan when he makes a move like this. I wonder what he is going to do that he needs more money?
  23. It is true that Boldin benifits from having a good QB, but Flacco also benefits from having good receivers. Boldin did catch some passes that would have been difficult for another receiver to get. Any QB is only as good as his WRs. You get a bunch of Dosses* out there and Flacco would not look as good as he does. *(I am just razzing the Doss fans)
  24. Why, Boldin out, Doss in, seems pretty easy to me. Obviously you are a Doss fan, and that is fine. I am still hoping we do not lose Boldin and that by the time we do, we draft a new decent slot receiver to replace him. I do not think Doss is the answer and until he does something, anything I will continue to hold that opinion. A few catches in pre-season or the peewee league does not mean anything.
