  1. Great future ahead for this kid, and for Nick Boyle it looks like. Not sure if Pitta is out there this year that it'll be possible for Maxx to put up the kinds of numbers necessary for a TE to win OROY (Perriman probably has a better shot at this point), but he looks to be a really amazing 2nd round pick for us.
  2. Of all the young players on our team, I have to say I'm the most excited about the Williams/Jernigan combo, and KLM if he can stay healthy and get to starting at DE. If those guys play up to their potential they could be up there with the best interior 3-4 D-lines in football. They are all fierce competitors with abnormal size/speed/strength. Williams and Jernigan remind me a little of Sam Adams and Goose, except a little lighter and more agile (good for the way the game is played now). People were rightly sad when Ngata got traded, but they're going to love watching those two guys fill the gaps.
  3. YES, thank you. Usually "ahead of schedule" is just code for "not following doctor's orders and risking re-injuring himself". Campanaro was "ahead of schedule" in his rehab too and look where he's ended up. Now I'm hearing Jimmy is pushing himself beyond what he's supposed to be doing. You can't do that with foot/leg injuries. You will either re-aggravate the injury or cause injury to your previously uninjured leg because you're trying too hard to compensate (this is likely why Webb tore his left ACL the year after coming back from tearing his right ACL/MCL). I understand guys wanting to be out there and wanting to look tough but it's hard to look tough when you spend 6 games a year on IR.
  4. In the BCS National Championship Game he ended up having to leave in the 4th quarter due to exhaustion, but before that he put in 3 full quarters of impressive dominance. Here's hoping that conditioning pays off so he can dominate for all 60 minutes.
  5. List of inferior QBs that people have argued are better than Joe Flacco: Mark Sanchez Josh Freeman Andy Dalton Matt Schaub Derek Anderson (LOL) Matt Cassel Kyle Orton Lesson? People say whatever they want, but the truth comes out in time.
  6. They usually keep 6 or 7 WRs, with the 7th being there as a ST spot. But you're also forgetting about Jeremy Butler from last year, who's coming back (I think he was either PS or IR) and showed well in the pre-season. I think Carter goes to the PS, following in the footsteps of previous UDFA WR standouts for the Ravens.
  7. Digging a little deeper here, you've got to think Blaine Clausell or Darryl Baldwin have a shot at a backup OT position. Right now we've got James Hurst and Jah Reid backing up Monroe and Wagner (both of whom missed significant playing time last season). One of those guys could definitely unseat Reid if they have a good camp.
  8. Maxx Williams seems like a legitimately scary dude. I see shades of Witten, Shockey, and even Gronkowski. Obviously we don't know if he'll be one of those guys yet, but he's certainly got the fire and the relentlessness of those players. Can't wait to watch him steamroll some Steelers LBs.
