WR's mean jack if we can't protect Flacco, 48 sacks, zero run blocking, zero screen blocking...we have the horses to play WR, but it all starts with the O-Line...So..Oz find a way to sign Mack...
we have a solid WR corp, O-line, D-Line, and the secondary needs addressed.
Moving Webb to CB is not breaking anything, it is insuring our back end is solid, as we all so the rook get burned on a lot of deep balls last year, his support of the cb's in front of him, will allow him to be a ball hawker...
how many games did Edelman, rice, miles, nicks miss over the last few years?? We need players who can last a season, and be depended on....the majority of the list of WR's were released or not resigned, because they couldn't show they could stay healthy...we need players, not players that would require a M.A.S.H unit to be on call 24/7
No issue Webb playing FS, has the range, and is one of the most under-rated tackling CB's in the league....
Edleman, Nicks, Jones, Rice, Miles, all made of glass...LaFell might have the most upside, as we looked at him hard during that years draft...
Lets just ink on Gorrer, big CB who played well for us, and played well in Tampa in the shadows of over-rated Revis...
Oz pulls off signing Mack, then i would pitch in for a Oz statue in front of M&T....
Woodyard would be a LBer i wouldn't mind us looking into....
no one on that list of WR makes me feel they are better than Brown as our slot WR....
Josh Wilson is also a possibility to bring back to play some CB for us....
the in-house moves are big moves, as those players usually would test the market more, but when their value dropped quickly, it made it easy to sign them on his terms..
@rmcjackets..i said from day 1, Oz always slow plays the FA signing period, he lets teams with cap space go through their money, and sees who is left, and makes smart signing, and i am surprised he made these many moves this early, in the past itr was the 2nd week of the FA period is when he would make his genius moves...
Jacoby is a home run threat on ST, as well as one playing WR, make no mistake about it, he has had a knack of making big plays for us, the signing was solid, and at a good price..He has a knack of getting behind DB's, just the same old question, will our line give Flacco the time he needs to get him the ball...
@rmcjacket23...it's about fixing the obvious flaws on the O-Line, Monroe brings us 1 piece, Yanda another, the unknowns are LG,C, and RT, So to me that is a lot of holes to fill....KO we won't know how well he will play after his injury, we don't know who our RT will be, and Gino is a no-go at center...
seems more people are into name players than the results...Monroe, solid yes, but still was part of a O-Line that gave up 48 sacks, still part of a O-Line that couldn't screen block, or open up holes for our run game...Suggs, a stud, so nuff said...Pitta hurt most of the year...bottom line, it take 11 on the field on Offense, defense, and ST to play as 1....On paper we looked good, on the field we looked like [profanity deleted]...fact...so neg away haters...ha ha ha...
Suggs, Monroe, and Pitta were part of our 8-8 team, we need a upgrade on the O-Line..
@EAP, i agree we have a good mix of vets in Ngata, and Canty, but the others showed signs of being solid players, but i would like to see a another proven vet who can hold up, when one of the guys like Ngata, and Canty miss a few games due to injury..One thing i would like to see is McPhee put some weight back on, and play with his hand in the dirt, and dominate O-Linemen who couldn't handle his quickness in his rook season...
what was the eye sore last year? 1. Horrible pass protection 2. Horrible screen blocking 3. Horrible run game...The 3 things we have been pretty good at, prior to last year...O-Line is the priority....
If Oz finds a way to scoop up Mack to play center, then that would make the FA period a success IMO...
D.Smith is looking for one last pay day, the problem for us, is we won't over pay, and Oz will let him test the waters, like he did with Monroe...O-Line is still the a bigger issue, and the D-Line is now going to be a unknown with Arthur gone, he was our best D-Lineman last year, so we will have to see who can step up....
Between T.Smith, and Brown, with JJ playing in 3 wide sets, i think we have a pretty sexy trio which will cause nightmares for DB's, the bigger issue is protecting Flacco to give him time for the big play routes to develop....48 sacks is the issue in the passing game, not the WR's we have on the roster....
really shouldn't be such a panick for a FA WR, Brown had a heck of a rook year, and will only be better next year in the slot, JJ, Mellete, will make for a nice WR corp, so picking up a vet role playing WR shouldn't be hard to find...We need to solidify the O-Line, and D-line, and Secondary...
Sign Gorrer for cheap, has been a steady underrated CB, when he was with us, and then when he played for the Bucs, brings great size to the position....

Just sign Mack, find the money to get it done....We could have Megatron, Fitz, even superman playing WR, but it wouldn't do any good if we can't protect Flacco....
