You can't be a Raven unless you hate the Steelers, and you can't be a Steeler unless you hate the Ravens, it's in their contracts........:) Good times....
It's not hate. It is the fact to be a Raven you gotta LOVE beating the Steelers! And add in the Bengals now too. Time to throw out the word "hate" from our vocabulary, it doesn't make things any better using it and detracts from the real goal of winning..
fact is, players from both sides use that word, and we will never dislike the Bengals like we do the Steelers, not even close....

Raiders 2nd in the league in rushing, and it has a lot to do with KO, and we are sucking, and it has a lot to do with not having KO....But you can;t pay what we don't have, but i have always been a fan of KO, he is old school, nasty.....
Well....Harbs is bent on getting the run game going, so teams are focused on stopping the run, nothing wrong with Flacco throwing to our weapons, and winning games....You take what the defense gives you, and in all 3 games, their focus was to stop the run.....As long as we get the W , i don't care if we run the ball 15 times....
Always felt with his speed they needed to move AB outside, and at the time move Upshaw inside....
Judon, Pierce, Z are the real deal, and if Henry can get on the field he will be a mini version of Jernigan at this point and time....Judon and Z might nit have gotten a sack, but they sure did lay the lumber on McGowan....
On the taunting call ... I'm really not so sure if it was a bad call. It may just be that it is just a terrible, terrible rule. Nothing the Browns player did physically would have indicated taunting ... is there a part of the taunting rule that includes verbal exchanges between the players? One thing is for sure - the ref who threw the flag looked like he enjoyed doing his job ... flipping the flag straight up in the air about 30 feet with flair. So he seemed 100% sure about the call he was making.
To me, the whole point of emphasis on something as silly as taunting and making it a game changing event (which can even get you tossed) is absurd. I'm getting on board with the rules that the league is imposing for the sake of player safety (as long as it isn't only applied to stars and not the rank and file), but the legislation of politeness? I just don't know what they think they are gaining by doing this.
I have watched the game 3 times, and there was a play where Pitta made a catch had his back turned and threw the ball back, and hit a Browns player in the helmet area, and i am sure that wasn't his intention, but i think the rules need to really be defined, as i did not see Pryor do it in a taunting fashion....To be safe, players need to hand the ball to the ref, or just drop it on the ground....JMO....
Trestman was the worst hiring and would be the best firing. Pees being put on notice wouldn't hurt any either.
I'm good with Trestman, the WR's are running solid routes, and getting open, and the running game, we have to be patient with two rookies manning the left side....The mandate to run the ball at all cost is coming from Harbs, some teams just do a good job at stopping the run....Now Pees, never been a big fan of his, and if all goes well, the Bills will continue to lose, Rex gets fired, and we can get him back, or Spags in Indy....:)
The call was probably all set u from the personal foul call on Coleman on J.Smith, refs probably thought the Browns WR's were justs talking to much smack, and over-reacted to Pryors ball toss, yes i think we can all agree the call was weak, but they got a TD when the foot was clearly on the white line. Things seem to even themselves out in games....Also there was no guarantee they would have scored, not like they took a TD away.....And Hue being a solid coach is probably more concerned that his team couldn't play 4 quarters of ball, and not just 1 good one....So is it next Sunday yet???....:)
Iliek Forsett and West, but i said this when camp broke, i would love to see Houston get a shot, he is a bigger back at 6 foot, and has a nice burst....I have always been a fan of the taller backs, the smaller ones have served us well, but not making 4th and inches two weeks in a row just isn't a good thing....
Well, a win is a win, BUT, anyone who still thinks Joe Flacco is Pro Bowl material should check into the nearest psychiatric hospital. Perhaps it is the awful play calling that makes him look not only worse but stupid as well. Time and again the Ravens fail on short yardage situations. Time and again Harbaugh blows game management, using all three time outs so the Ravens have none at the end of the game. If not for that ridiculous penalty on Pryor, Cleveland has the ball, first and goal inside the Ravens 10. Most poorly managed win in Ravens history. You won't get away with it against quality teams.
I think Joe Flacco is still pro bowl material. Yeah he wasn't perfect yesterday, but we have absolutely no running game and after the first quarter, Flacco got on a roll. I'm not liking the play calling so far. The Ravens failing in short yardage has nothing to do with Flacco at times. I'm tired of seeing those dumb pitches to the outside when we should be running between the tackles. And another thing, you can blame Harbaugh for the poor clock management, but Forsett ran out of bound when he should have known to stay in on a second down play. It's easy to point fingers to the men in charge, but you really have no idea whats going on in the game. We were also unlucky multiple times. Yeah the Pryor flag was BS, but Coleman was out of bounds on that first TD. Pitta wasn't quite set on that Moore reception that would have put the game away pretty much, and he also dropped a TD pass. The second interception by Flacco was just a little underthrown. I understand what he was doing, but he needs to put that at the back of the endzone instead of a jump ball. I think Flacco looks okay. Perfect? No. He will be just fine though. I'm more concerned with the running game and our defense getting off the field on 3rd down.
Good reply. Drew Brees is a perennial pro bowler. The Saints are 0-2. Quick, would you rather be 2-0 or 0-2?
Exactly. That why l'm been telling fans. Drew Brees is a stat QB nothing else. He throws 300 and 400 yard type games but no wins to show for it. To me, he usually average 7-9 wins a year. Joe sometimes might don't have good stats but he still finds ways to win.
Saints D just sucks is all, if Brees played on a team that had a decent defense, they would be in it every year.....He has to outscore the other team all the time to get a win.....
Maybe? But the stats are not winning Drew games.
Brees isn't out there to work on stats, he is out their trying to score points for his team, and if the D can't make the points he puts on the board stand, it's not on him.....
That was a fantastic game with a fantastic comeback! Be happy! I don't get Ravens fans sometimes. The glass is always, always HALF EMPTY!
yep, some fans are not happy unless our wins are dominating....AFCN games are always tough, because records have never mattered....Think about how our young players stepped up, and played a big role in this comeback, now that is something to get very excited about....JMO...

Good win on the road but what the h....with the pass coverage? Even got gouged at the end the game to put the ball on the Cleveland 10. Couldn't get the game here in Richmond so didn't see anything but the 'highlights' but looks like the pass coverage needs to improve to beat better receivers than last place Cleveland. Cleveland had the game and the refs turned the game in the Ravens' favor.
they did beat up McCown though. Big DL play in the last 3 quarters. That late pass was troubling though...Pittsburgh and Cincy are watching that one.
I agree, thats the one thing that i really don't like about Pees D, when we protect a lead, instead of continuing to be aggressive, and we go to the prevent defense which i can;t stand.....You know Pit would be bringing, betting that their guys would get to the QB before he could get a deep pass off, and our CB's giving the cushion they were giving won't get it done, more press coverage, and trust the back end will have your back.....
I'm very impressed with how all the young players handled this, think of all the rookies who played a role, Stanley,Lewis, Judon,Pierce, Z 2nd year player, Orr first year starter.....Wallace is making Oz once again, looking like a genius...Mike thanks for stinking for the last 3 years so we could scoop you up in bring you back into the division where you shined....:)
No running game -- biggest problem. Also, where's Aiken? Should play him.
today was the Pitta show, just no enough balls for Aiken, and i do want him to get some chances as he earned it....
All right. Let's see:
Good things:
We're 2-0.
That cannot hurt, can it?
The team deserves all credit for not giving up and not flinching after being knocked down so early.
It shows resilience, determination, belief in themselves, confidence in themselves and the others, and also the calm reaction, lack of panicking... These are treats any team needs to succeed in the NFL.
The great summer investments seem to be money well spent.
Wallace, Weddle, West... Key pieces of the team already. Shout out to the FO.
Great work from the ST.
Week#1 they were the least good of the three legs. This time, they came up big. Hats off.
The D can really turn up the heat. REALLY.
I'm sure the OC's and O-line coaches will see all the sufferings poor McCown had to go through... Pretty impressive performance.
No injuries again, for the second week.
Every single Ravens-fan know damn well how important that is. Especially happy with Pitta.
Genuine turnovers at last.
Maybe all the secondary needed was to get the ice broken. Now it's broken.
Bad things:
RIGHT NOW the Ravens do not look like a playoff team.
May be a bit harsh, especially the 2-0 start, first time in 7 years - but let's be honest folks... we beat two very modest teams most other opponents will also beat quite comfortably - more comfortably than we did. Of course, it's week#2, and the O is admittedly a WIP at the moment - but we'll need a lot more than what we've seen the first two weeks. We are very lucky with the schedule - we could easily be 0-2 if we got two good opponents - like we did last season... But we aren't, and we may have a couple more weeks for the O to find themselves and start producing on a regular basis. We can all see that they have what it takes. Everything is still on the table - in 2012 we had stretches where we looked anything like a playoff team, let alone a SB-winning team... (@ KC then v the Cowboys in back-to back gamnes... both W's, but both painful to watch...) - still the season ended with Ray Lewis hoisting the Lombardi...
Flacco must shake off the fear.
He's obviously not in comfort in the pocket yet... He looked borderline panicked a couple of times...
The O-line must find their pre-seeason form,,, and fast.
They've been the weakest unit these first two games. An that cannot stay that way for long. Flacco needs more freetime in the pocket..
The O needs to be less predicatble. Much less.
The O is starting to look like the good old Cam Cameron O... Way too predictable. If I, the layman, can call so many plays before the snap, anybody can... especially the opposing DC's and players...
I agree, but it is still so early in the year, the team will get better, and hopefully stay healthy, as over the first two weeks i have seen so many teams lose players, and scrambling the FA market for players, and The Browns might be another team searching for another QB, and possibly center....If we can stay healthy, and hold the fort down until doom gets back we will really get better....The offense i give somewhat a pass, as the passing game is there and the WR are getting open, but the running game will take time, as we must remind ourselves, we have two rookies manning the left side, and possibly getting Urschel paying center could help...but 2-0 sure is nice.....
Well, i give the entire team tons of credit for keeping their focus after the death of what i consider a Icon in Ravens history in CB....
Curious as to why Joe has to go to Trestman to change the play calling and call more deep passes. Joe got the game plan in mid week. OC's really get stuck on their game plans.
I think it is more Harbs trying to force us to be able to run, but if it isn't there, take what the defense gives you....and we did and won...
After 2 games, that were completely different, i'm not going to hate on 2-0....Bills had 160 yards total offense last week, and then had 393 yards against a Jets defense, and then we allow 387 yards against a division opponent, yet come back from 20 down....This is the N.FL. if people are expecting us to blow teams out week in and week out, will be terribly disappointed.....Bottom line these two wins are games we lost last year, and now things are going our way, and there is no doubt what the deep threats we have on the team have already made a huge difference...And the Defense stood tall when they had to....2-0 is all that matters, we just have to keep improving.....so is it next Sunday yet???
We came back for the win, but Flacco put us in some very bad spots.
He did, but his play also won us the game, because we had zero running game.....It evens out with him.....
I would say most pedestrian QBs could've put up 2TD/2INT game off the streets.
And most pedestrian QB's don't bring back teams down 20-0....Focus on the passes he made versus the 2 int's.....300 yard game, is a good game, and 2 TD's......
No easy divisional games, all are dog fights.....And we like it that way, that is why the AFCN is truly the toughest division....
Might be somewhat of a short week for us as i am sure many will be going to CB's funeral.....That i know will be rough on so many....Still feels like a punch in the gut losing him...

Like Suggs it will take a few games for him to get into game shape, Suggs looked real rusty his first game, but has gotten better each week.....But am i happy he is good to go, because once he catches up, it will be awesome, as Z, and Judon have proven to be excellent fill ins, so if they have to give either a blow, their isn't much let off, as both of them have high octane motors...
