I would like to see us go OT in the 2nd, and maybe go after WR Robinson from Penn St. in the 3rd...
Solid pick, can't go wrong picking the best ILBer in the draft, when we were lacking depth, and knowing Smith has maybe 2 years left...Can't wait for the 2nd and 3rd rounds....
ILBer was a position i talked about for the past few months, and this solidifies the position, but both Brown and Mosley to add some weight....I wouldn't be surprised if we went DT if Nicks is available... or if that Bama OT is still on the board...
If we couldn't get Mack, a veteran who has starts at both Center and Guard was the next best thing...
Now i can say FA has been a solid one, 6-4 308 brings great size to the center position, and the fact he has so many starts, at Center, Guard makes our O-line better, and Center is where he needs to play....relieved we found a center...Now can we trade Castillo for a 100th pick, we will take any pick for him...
you guys are nuts, Mack is in his prime and could be long term solution, instead of hoping and praying 33 year old players will get it done year after year....
not wasting my time, it is what it will be, but knowing our priority is the O-Line, and knowing their is a top center out there, and knowing Oz has contacted his agent makes it a possibility, and that is better then no shot at all....
Madden?? sorry it's called reality, you have a o-line do what they did, you don't play madden, you hope to get the best player you can at the weakest position, and that was center...and that's just a fact...
Oz very rarely waste his time on players we have no chance of going after, in fact his history has always been to slow play it in FA, and not really talk to anyone until the end of the first week, beginning of of the second week, for him to make that call as soon as FA opened is a very telling sign, we might not land him but it won't be from lack of effort on his part..
we don't need anyone, but we sure as heck want players of Mack's caliber, and if we landed him, that would be one of Oz's best deals...Instant stability for our interior line...
true on the transition tag, but Oz wouldn't contact his agent ,if he felt he had no chance of making a play for him...
And...even if we don't get Mack, we better get someone to play center, but if Mack is on the market, you don't look the other way, which we haven;t as Oz has already been in contact with his agent....
you need to do the math, they aren't going to spend their 30 mil in cap space this year on him, it's about a long term deal that he wants....and if they wanted him that bad, they would have offered him that so-called 10 mil per year for 4 to 5 years...
WHAT??? Browns get a first rounder if a franchise player is signed away......
Be more concerned about paying players to keep Flacco off his butt, so he can allow routes to develop to throw to our WR's....Doesn't take a genius to figure out our pass blocking, run blocking, and screen blocking was horrible, and Flacco almost got killed with all the hits let alone the 48 sacks....O-LINE IS THE PRIORITY
the 120 mil is not myth when next year his cap number is 25 mil, so your myth is a reality, and because it was spread out that way, his cap number was low, and yes, going into FA last year, we struggled to have 5 mil to spend after the tenders...
The Browns are going through their cap stash, with all the signings they have done, and center is not a high priced position that would break a team, so if we throw a contract big enough where the Browns feel they would rather have the draft pick, then it's very possible, that is why you don't see teams going after franchised players because of what they have to give up...so yep, very doable..
Smith is a hot head, and to describe him as a team leader is somewhat of a joke, team leaders to blow up, and throw teammates, and management under the bus....Boldin lead by example, without being a locker room distraction...If he can behave fine, but when he doesn't get his way, then we will see how it pans out....
ask yourself how we signed flacco to 100 mil deal when we had like 5 mil in cap space last year, there are allot of ways to make contracts big enough for teams to no match or want to match....
Said from the beginning of FA i didn't thin WR was a priority, and i still think that, as Brown did nothing in his rook year to show he couldn't handle the slot...When a rook has a season like Brown, the worst thing you can do, is take balls away from him, you got to let the kid continue to be great..regardless it is done, but i am having a Mack attack, he is the #1 priority IMO....
Mack is still in the picture,, signing bonus money, guaranteed money that can be paid in the first 3 years of a contract, Centers are not 12 mil a year positions, so long term deals which what he wants is still very doable...And to stay in the AFCN would be another plus in making a solid play for him...
Brandon Williams is our future NT, he showed flashes last year, and i expect nothing but upside from him....O-Line, and Secondary Depth should be our top priorities...
Shame Marlon isn't getting the love he deserves as our slot WR, he did nothing but show toughness running crossing routes, and the ability to get separation...The kid plays hungry like T.Smith...
I wouldn't mind Wilfork, he caves in O-lines, kind of like our O-Line got caved in last year....With Arthur gone, we need someone who can push O-linemen back, or open holes for our LBers...

No surprise as we like to rotate our D-Linemen, and this will keep the D-Line fresh for the 4th quarter in games....
