      Whoever emphasized that, didn't know what they were talking about.

      All we needed was a tie to guarantee advancement. A loss and advancement was plausible with a Portugal win or tie (which happened).

      I know the 1-1-1 record doesn't seem impressive. But we took down our Kyrponite (Ghana), had a world powerhouse on the ropes (Portugal), and held our own against a World Cup favorite (Germany).
