  1. Confidence in Wagner is just as hillarious after how he performed when he came in for Oher. I'm done venting about it - but the first one that drags on the offense if they're inept again - I am reminding how they just loved this defense heavy (yet again) draft and completely ignoring our offensive needs. Don't want to hear it.
  2. Dude we were "all set" last year too. Boldin was gone but Pitta was going to pick up the slack. Then he got hurt. Then JJ got hurt. We got so lucky that a undrafted rookie was as good as he was in Marlon Brown or we might have had a losing season. We had to give up picks to bring the O line up to even poor play. We had the worst running game ever in the NFL since the 2000 season (I forget what team it was) and now Rice is likely suspended for no one knows how long. And we've got Pierce (not an every down back nor a receiving back) and Forsett - yeah. Wagner was crap when he came in for Oher last year. To the point that people were like "I never thought I'd say this, but I hope Oher isn't seriously injured". That is how badly he played and that is who you're relying on? Please. This was the draft to go offense. The talent was there and it was deep. Next year's crop is slim pickins.
  3. If true, he'll fit right in. Our defense gassed out in the 4th quarter quite a bit last season. Everyone blamed the offense but - you know, we didn't address that need so...guess we can expect more of the same. Honestly though - I did read somewhere that he was ill.
  4. Wagner went in for Oher last season - he was pathetic and everyone was screaming to get him out. KO we'll see. No way to know just yet.
  5. Because we've had our fill of developmental WRs that never pan out. And I'm not even specifically mad about WR. I would have taken a RT that could start. A RB even. Any love for the offense at all.
  6. Well let's hope not because our worst thing was OL and we still have Castillo.
  7. Not to mention - we have no depth if someone gets hurt. How often are you going to get a pleasant surprise like Marlon Brown?
  8. Well yeah, we'll all complain about it lol And yes, you'll understand why but there are others who will not
  9. Rice will get some sort of suspension. That leaves Pierce and what was that guy's name that we all went who? when they signed him? That RB? That is pretty much it at RB. We signed a center who, it is being reported, is slightly better than Gino, who most raved about when he was drafted. But - didn't work out that way did it? Jensen & Wagner - though the FO might be high on them - have not proven anything. Wait - we did see Wagner didn't we? I believe most of us were of the opinion we hoped not to have to rely on him? KO - still an unknown because he did not play well - we all just assumed his back was injured from day one but we don't know that especially since it should have been listed on the injury report and wasn't. Kubiak - I'll give you - but you can only do so much if you're not given the players to do it with. They drafted a project TE because he is considered a blocking TE. Not a receiving TE and his weakness is his route running and lack of separation (man doesn't that sound familiar?). The point is: we give the defense all the high draft picks every year, they play a click above average and everyone is "oh our defense is soooooo improved!" (stats prove otherwise) but we give the offense hand me downs and scrub picks and expect them to play top 5 or at least top 10.
  10. Could be. I didn't see anything about him being 6th or 7th round until that post.
  11. Every draft one can go "wait - why not this guy or that guy?" usually though, you can see the idea behind the pick - get it and understand it. This draft though - after our offensive woes this past season, the patchwork job with veteran FAs being a dismal failure, and the promise of "building the offense" - well, this draft is crap. We've done nothing for the offense yet again.
  12. I don't want to hear anything about our offense this coming season. Nary a word. There isn't an impact WR left on the board and any OL pick will be hit or miss at this point too. Ozzie & company gave them none of the help they promised when they talked about "building the offense like we did the defense." If the offense sucks in 2014 - go tell Ozzie about it.
  13. Wait - didn't see that - so we just drafted a 6th or 7th rounder in the 3rd? Great.
  14. A blocking TE who could possibly learn to catch and run routes for a #3 TE. At least - that is what is being said about him. Wooohooo ! Eat your crumbs offense! I really don't want to hear about our offense being crap this coming season when they get no help.
  15. Well obviously he's going to start because we have no one else. The question is if his play will be starting quality. I have watched what I can find on the guy - and I've read what they all had to say - potential starter IF is what they say. I hope you're right and I'm wrong. I have no problem being wrong in this instance. I just am not seeing it with what everyone is saying about him.
  16. He's not an impact player at all. He has bad hands. He misjudges tackles. He's a project guy and we need a starter.
  17. No I don't believe so in the research I am finding on the guy.
  18. So we didn't take the guy who could start immediately because...you know...why????? Who exactly is going to play FS until the project guy is ready - if he ever is.
  19. Let's recap: one failed a drug test, one has a "fleshy mid-section" and one has "minimal production on the ball - not a playmaker". I'm not impressed.

Well.. you can certainly get worse than Oher, but it does help that we CAN get better now that he's gone.

I don't know - you think we're going to find a RT in the 4th round or later who is better than Oher?

I don't know if there are any good premiere tackles left in the draft that won't be development projects. Outside of the draft, Eric Winston is still available and we also have to at least see how Wagner or Reid hold up. We can throw in the towels if we see that those guys suck. But there's the chance that they can be solid.

  20. WeaknessesCould stand to bulk up and get stronger. Inconsistent tackler -- arrives out of control, does not always see what he hits and will miss some tackles seeking the knockout blow. Is built like a cornerback, sustained a concussion as a senior and durability could be an issue given his aggressive playing style. Minimal production on the ball -- was not a playmaker. Has average hands and leaves some INTs on the field. Poor short-shuttle time (7.35 seconds) at the combine. ...but most important... Has starter-caliber ability if he can improve his ball skills, Which means he is a project, not an impact player. Not impressed when we could have had Clinton-Dix because we NEED a starter.
  21. Is anyone worth anything really left? I mean that wouldn't be a project. I do believe I just watched most of what I'd consider possible immediate impact players go off the board.
  22. Two TEs coming off serious injuries - only 1 of which we've seen actually play (Pitta). A Center that everyone says is only marginally better than Gino. I'll give you WR - but - that is IF no one gets injured. If they do we're back to fill ins like Clark & Stokely.
  23. Last season proved that ignoring offense year in and year out comes back to bite you in the butt because you have no depth to rely on when people get injured or do not play well.
  24. Stop it. We did that last season. Remember Stokely and Clark? How did that work out? We needed to address the offensive needs this year - baring that we needed to addres FS. We've done neither.
  25. Of course we do - cuz we always give the offense the left over scraps that aren't going to help anything.
