  1. Get well, my friend! I'm glad you were having a great year and I am proud you're a Raven! See you next year, hopefully!!
  2. Get well soon, brother!
  3. Frankly, I don't see the Rams running more than any other team. If you think about it, our secondary is our weakest link. Most teams figure that out and by the 2nd half, they're firing away and getting points and yards like crazy. I think, sad to say, that any half decent or better QB would be licking his chops to throw on us and rack up stats and score points. It's not hard to do, sorry to say.
  4. Crusader, those are valid concerns. We need to draft better, which doesn't mean a lot if you let veterans leave the team in favor of new draft picks. Also, Joe is making everyone nervous these days, when he is passing. But, you have to put the game on your QB's shoulders. You're simply going to live and die with your QB, because you can't run or throw for 2 yards all the time and win.
  5. Without top-flight WR's that can make plays (getting open and catching the ball and YAC), we don't have a team. You cannot tell the other team that you're going to run the whole game because you have no feared weapons out wide. It doesn't work now or ever. With our luck with receivers, drafted or other-wise (keeping good one's like Boldin) I'd say we draft 3 or more WR's in the draft next year. We're so snake-bitten in that area, I don't think we have a chance anyways, but we need to try, somehow and if we don't stockpile WR's in the draft, we need to trade to get a GOOD one before next July, a veteran, good WR, and keep him if he pans out, for heaven's sake!
  6. We need to get some Veteran Players this off-season. We need to get a starting WR with experience, good experience. If we don't pay a good receiver to come here, we're in the same boat next year.
  7. I liked Asa, but really, he was a weak link, goodbye!
  8. Great moves. At least Ozzie is trying to rebound from this awful year. I think Harbaugh is trying to make something out of frankly, nothing, but he's trying too. We need to draft a little better and try to pick up some good veterans, too. You know, you can't win based on players who were cut or barely hanging on on practice squads and rookies. We need some GOOD Veteran players, like SSS, but not as old, sort of like when we had Boldin, but try harder not to give them up too quickly, either. In summation, we're only going to get better with good, veteran players somewhere on the roster!
  9. I think Flacco is good enough to throw it more than 1:1 ratio (run/pass). Just a handful of running plays in a half is prob. not enough though. I think we need to find out if Flacco is 'Elite' or not. He's gold in my book, but I'm an easy guy to impress and I like Joe and think he's cool. Anyway, he hasn't been as good as Drew Brees and got outplayed vs. the Browns QB earlier, McCown, I think. So yeah, he's not at the top of the heap, but I think in this day and age, you need to be proficient at throwing the ball or you won't win that many games. Look at the QB from Oak. Derek Carr. He had a whale of a game vs. us earlier this year, so Flacco needs to improve and he needs to get better even with sub-par receivers. Otherwise teams will stack the box, knowing we don't have a passing game to beat them. It's that simple. Until he throws 4 TD's and 425 yards, they're going to dare us to try to win in the air, throwing downfield, short, medium, or long. Stack the box!
  10. I think Flacco means, 'When you lose like that, it's EASY to question what we did.' Anyways, I know, now, that we should have done it differently. Some of these guys are taking the company line and not being controversial, which I understans, but they say hind-sight is 20.20. Well, if you use his logic, then we're no better off even in hind-sight. We're not going to change or learn anything if you don't admit it was the wrong choice to not go all out for a 1st down. The only time I want to be in the use the clock mode is when we're in the Victory Formation and running ALL of the clock out to end the game. We lost, so, that means to me, we should have went for another Touchdown at the end to win. We were afraid to win and were playing not to lose. In my opinion that cost us the game the most; it shouldn't have been in Jax.'s hands to get the win. We need to be aggressive all-the-way into the Victory Formation next time, period.
  11. I know this was a very weird finish to a game, but I just wonder if they should have known to finish the game on that last play. They kind of did leave Dumervil out there to dry. As much as I hate a few teams around the league, I have to wonder which teams would have played till the whistle ends the game. We seemed disinterested in earning the win all game long, so it is only fitting that we lost the game and we lost the game as a team, really, not much else to say, except it was a very lackluster end to an awful season.
  12. We should not have been satisfied with a 1 point lead on our last drive, running the ball a lot to run the clock. We should have been trying to score another Touchdown. Sometimes we're afraid to go after a win and we just try to avoid a loss by hoping the clock will run out. It came back to bite us today.
  13. @ Raven Maniac, A Big reason why those throws go short of the sticks, on 3rd or 4th down, is because the other team gives you that. They figure, if you're going to take it they'll tackle you short and be done with it. They know where the sticks are and they play right in front of them. It's our offenses fault for throwing short on that 4th down and 4, just like when we get near the 5 yard line and throw it for a 2 yard gain. That's simply a waste of a down! That definitely needs to be corrected, going forward.
  14. I wish we would have tried to score more in a 1 point game at the end, instead of simply trying to 'Milk' the clock. That was a mistake. And when that happened, knowing the Ravens' luck, I said, 'I bet you we lose this game'. And that's what happened. That was way too conservative for a 1 point game. We should have been thinking Touchdown the whole way on that last offensive drive, and not go into a shell (sorry for the Terps pun, but they'd have done the same think as they are without any luck and talent in much the same way). It's a sickening way to lose and both of these MD teams are playing with their tails between their legs, to put it VERY nicely. Just abysmal.
  15. With all of these bad plays, misplays, and mistakes, where does the coaching staff begin. It seems everyone had a part in this loss, except for a few players. I think some drops by our defensive backs (possible INT's) some bad Quarterbacking plays, too many penalties, and on 4th down, early in the game, if you're going to throw it on 4th and 4, you should at least throw it the 4 yards, and not short of that. I agree with going for it there, but you have to give your receivers a chance, just like on 4th and goal you don't want to throw it short. Seems it was a team loss, and I don't put the blame squarely on Doom's shoulders, that would be unfair to him.
  16. Great one John! Now I know what to NOT look for this week! Ha!
  17. I think we have a great class of rookies. They're not only talented, but also determined to be great football players. I know Perriman is done for the year (should be on IR any week), but otherwise, we had a very good draft. I think 1 player in the situation of Perriman does not deter our future and success in the 2015 draft. I also believe Perriman will be ready for next year and contribute in a big way, hopefully!
  18. No one knows how good Perriman will be (if at all) right now. I'm sick of people saying he's a bust. He's INJURED, for heaven's sake. Now, if he doesn't play at all next year either, then he was a bust. But, right now, we don't know that yet. How can anyone here say he's not going to put up great numbers next year? Anyone else tired of hearing he's a bust, at this point?
  19. I think he's saying they're injured, might not play.?. Also, I'd put Perriman on IR. It's one of those times where you just have to make a judgement that it's not his year to play. I hope he's 100 percent next year, though. With the way things have gone for him as a pro, I'm a little concerned about his chances for next year and beyond. Sorry to say.
  20. Yeah, but I hope to see him this year scoring TD's. I, like many, was hoping to get him in the draft. I was REALLY hoping to get West in Purple. I'm glad things worked out that way for him, as well. Now, I'm really excited about seeing him play this year! I don't want anyone to get injured, I just want to see him scoring TD's, because I think he's a really talented running back, just from his stats and success at Towson!
  21. Great for him, I really like to root for this guy! I hope he gets more opportunities and chances and reaches those levels of expectations in a positive way! Keep grinding Asa!
  22. The Ravens / Steelers rivalry has definitely picked up some mutual respect from fans and players, I think. They still want to beat the crap out of each other when the meet, but it's fun for the fans and players alike, so people are appreciating this rivalry more than just hating the other team! Thanks, for the thought, Purple Dawg!
  23. Get this guy up quick! He has the nose for the goal line and as said here, is 'A Touchdown Machine!' Since we like to run so much near the goal line, we need this player in the game! We aren't as good at passing for short TD's as most QB's / Teams are. I wish we'd pass for more TD's, but hey, with this guy, it's all good!
  24. jravens - you said it (I was going to). I mean I know we played some close games this year, but to go 8 - 0 the rest of the way, we'd have to change that stat from 47 percent (opp. 3rd down conv.) to like 20 percent and right away. Then we'd have to start covering receivers a lot better and getting 4 sacks / game which isn't going to happen. Long story short, those changes would all have to happen and prob. more likely that none of them will change enough to win more than 4 out of the 8, half of our remaining games to finish at 6 - 10 for the year.
  25. I think we're going to be forced to pass, so we might as well get right after it. Also, the heck with 3rd down and short or 3rd and long, if we could get 1st downs on 1st down or 2nd down and not even have a 3rd down, that would be a big help. I know, it sounds corny, but if you watch N.E., Cincy., or Denver, they go for more yardage on each play in an effort to get 1st downs as often as possible. I think we're in the mindset that if we run for 3 yards and then pass (SHORT) for 4 more, that a 3rd and 3 is great. I disagree, we need to throw the ball downfield more often, just like we do when we're behind (S.D. game) and need a quick score. It works and teams won't be expecting it right out of the gate!
