  1. I have had my doubts about our drafting process, too, what's important or not. What's important to me is getting players that produce and are successful. Look at the game last night and around the league. Lots of teams over the last 2 years have drafted WR's that have been very successful. Last year, and I forget exactly who I'm thinking about, but last year some team picked wayyyy after us and got a receiver that is playing 'Lights Out'. We need to build a better team through the draft, because we don't have the means to pay FA's. Once we can pay Free Agents and draft successfully, then we'll be back on the map. Not any time soon, unless we're lucky.
  2. I wanted to see more of Renner in the last few games, especially since we know already what we have with Schaub and we have a body of work with Clausen, too. We don't know about this young kid and how much of an up side he has. That's too bad, for now, anyway.
  3. I hope, that with getting a look at new players, younger players, we can get a fresh take on our plays and play-calling. I'm not sure we're always putting our guys in the best possible positions, with our play-calling. In particular, we seem to run straight up the gut, every couple of downs and Sea. was jamming the box and packing it tight right before our snaps; they really took care of our run game and seemed to guess right too often, which is why weren't effective running the ball on Sunday. Let's go Dolphins! If the Fish win, we get to keep our Sunday Night game, for whatever it's worth. I hope we get to play on Sunday Night, even though Pitt. will score a lot of points on us, most likely.
  4. Clausen didn't throw any TD's yesterday. He didn't score any points (TD's) but he didn't give up any TD's (INT's) for the other team, either. That should be marked as an improvement, and he will get better as the year winds down. I'd say go with Clausen and keep Renner, somehow on the practice squad, just in case.
  5. People were impressed with Clausen, for the most part, because he out performed the expectations. People didn't expect much because he was thrown into the fire, basically, with only a few weeks to prepare for our offense. What I saw, was more pocket presence and he rolled out more than, even Joe likes to. He was accurate for much of the game and even completed the same amount of passes as Wilson (Sea.), but had about 8 more attempts. Oh, and the Seahawks know how to get open in the red zone, in the end zone, for Touchdowns, where we still don't and usually either go for a 4th down play (run up the middle) or settle for a F.G. All in all, I think Clausen played better than Schaub did last week (against a worse Miami team). We need to work on our plays and play calling, especially mixing up our plays, because Sea. seemed to bunch-up and crowd the middle of the line with 7 or 8 guys every time we ran it right to them and got minimal gains. We're very predictable in that regard and everyone, including you and me knows what we like to run over and over. Our defense was lackluster most of the game, falling down in coverage and not getting any rush pressure on Wilson. It was a sad day to root for the Ravens, for sure, but I'm still looking forward to next week and the Chiefs, coming to Baltimore for another week of football. Crazy game, ups and downs.
  6. Being that we have no postseason to look forward to here, I hope we can play the kind of football that will help us next year. I hope we find out how to get open in the red zone for TD's. I hope we find out when to run and when to pass for maximum efficiency. Also Seattle seem to know when to play against the run and they crowded the middle, knowing, not only when we were going to run, but where we were going to run. They must have done their homework, for sure. We all know that we like to run it straight up the middle and often. They (Sea.) played the kind of intuitive defense that shut us down, if not out.
  7. This Sea. team is looking for a runaway type of game, so let's at least, keep it close, like usual. I doubt we'll end up with a one score difference this week, but this year has been so crazy that I figure a one score game and lots of help for Sea. from the officials, wouldn't be all that surprising, you know.
  8. I hope we put in the effort, catch some passes and make some good runs and first downs and score some points. I don't think we can keep up with Sea., but I'm going to root us on as though we can do it! GO RAVENS!
  9. Get him some playing time soon; I'd love to see what he can do and just what kind of impact he has on this team next year, if any. He's got size at 6'5" and we know he can catch, so hopefully will give him every chance and he delivers.
  10. And the refs botch another game for the Ravens. What else do you need to say?
  11. Count me as one who's glad the Ravens aren't playing to lose the remaining games to draft higher. I love to watch the Ravens play and I'm glad they're playing to win every week. Even more so, now that we've got so many younger players trying their best to earn a spot on the roster, going forward to next year. It's great to see the effort most all of them are putting out, especially in the last 3 weeks or so. GO RAVENS!!!!!
  12. Our youngsters are coming on strong. I think we'll make a positive out of our 2nd half, when all is said and done. Maybe next year we'll have some players who are worthy of playing time that we might not have noticed, such as Givens (deep-ball threat) and Butler, and in our secondary. Plus Urschel is getting valuable experience at center, should Zuttah not be around or injured next year. I hope we have 10 wins next year.
  13. Best of luck. I love my Terps Football and if we get a decent QB, or if Caleb Rowe improves a bit, we'll beat some teams, hopefully. It was a great team win the other day, coming back from 21 points down to beat Rutgers! I turned it off, LOL!
  14. I like being aggressive. Especially when your team is not that good, they need to score points some way and 4th down becomes a down you simply can't waste. A lot of teams lose by punting every 4th down like robots. If we had a little bit better of a team, I'd say punt more often and let your defense get you decent field position, but right now, we need to use all 4 downs and keep our offense on the field sometimes. The trick is the execution and Flacco is really good at 4th down passes; Schaub was great on the fullback pass and did what was needed, flawlessly. Great execution and great calls by Harbaugh and Trestman! It helps me to look forward to another game, being that the coaches are giving the players a chance to win some games instead of punt, punt, punt, lose.
  15. It is kind of fun watching all of these young guys fighting for an NFL career, here or elsewhere. It's almost like watching a college team and rooting for guys to make positive impression on somone, scouts, etc. We definitely are one of the most exciting teams in the league, look at yesterday's game and look at the Pitt. game, most of them anyways vs. Pitt. Now if only we could separate from other teams. It's almost like we're not a going away (in points) kind of team. We're great at catching up, but not going away with the games, unfortunately. We need to work on that!
  16. Was a great team win, and very humble of Brent to say, not seeking praise, but he'll get a bunch. What a way to start your career, finally!
  17. Well, a lot of people should be happy now that D. Brown is on the team for tonight's game. I'm one of them, too. Hopefully, we'll be able to run on the Browns, as they are below avg. at stopping the run. For Schaub's sake, I hope we run for 125 or more yards tonight and have a great defensive showing.
  18. Also, try not to have 10 penalties or even 6. Yes, personal fouls are penalties and they do result in loss of points or points for the opponent!
  19. I'm not really concerned with what guys are playing right now, just that, geez, I hope no one else gets put on IR or hurt in any way, for the remaining 6 games. I guess it's not very surprising that when you start playing 2nd and 3rd string players, especially on the offensive line, you kind of expect a snowball effect of injuries to follow.
  20. Rooting for Schaub and basically our 2nd string team on offense! As bizarre as it seems, this is basically our Preseason Team.
  21. I like Renner and think he played his way onto the team anyways. I wouldn't mind seeing him play a few games this year; we have to sign him first, though. He's got that spunk we need; you saw him run for that TD in the pre-season. He's got some confidence about himself, too.
  22. How I wish we'd have some defensive backs grading higher on the list (PFF).
  23. I don't know how straight you can kick it with those winds. I noticed the wind blowing left to right, mostly, though it was swirling a bit too, and on the winning kick, he started it farther left than the missed kicks and it blew right, but made it through and ended up outside of the right post as it hit the net. He adjusted well and hit the one that mattered in the end. He won the game and that's what we want to see. Good job, Tuck!
  24. When will the Refs call a game evenly for us. They don't seem to see the fouls on our opponents, but notice ours and even make a few up as they go. We see this every week. Shame.
  25. It bothers me so much that when we have a 3rd or 4th down and say 5 to get a 1st down, we throw it 2 yards and get a net gain of maybe 3 and have to punt. Same on the Goal to Go situation today, we threw it short on 3rd down, I think it was, and only gain a few yards on the play after the tackle, OUTSIDE of the end zone and are forced to kick a short F.G. Someone here posted once, that it's the receivers job to run past the sticks or into the end zone. I don't know if that's true or it's the QB's job to throw it the full distance or more, but that really gets my day going when that happens, I hate that! Maybe it's on the coaches to straighten that out, who knows, but I wish they'd stop it! Good win today, you Ravens are warriors and I hope those that are injured will have some peace and rest up and heal and be back as soon as possible, next year is it for a bunch of guys, now.
