  1. Today I saw part of an episode of Doomsday Preppers on National Geographic. The subject of the episode was a family living in Arizona. They built a secret bunker in the backyard connected to the house by a secret door in the master bedroom. There is a hidden exit out of the bunker that is disguised to look like a trash can. Then part of the wall surrounding the property was taken down and replaced by a false wall that can actually be driven through if the family needs to make a last-minute escape by car. The bunker is sealed tight to prevent any water or animals from getting in.

That has to cost at least $5,000. I understand wanting to be prepared in case of a catastrophic event but I'm not going to spend all that money to do it.

One of the "preppers" said that secrecy is very important, but I have poked a few holes in that claim.

    1) They just broadcast their operation on television for the world to see.

    2) With the hired workers and large machinery it would be hard for anybody going by not to notice that something was going on.

Overall it was pretty interesting to watch.
