The new changes and clarity on punishment for domestic violence are a good thing. In reality they need to have a scale in place for all offenses, i.e., first DUI = x games suspended, second DUI = whatever, and so on. Some rulings are not consistent. Let's not kid ourselves; Rice got off easy. He should have gotten 4+ games, 8 at the most, but he got just 2. I know Rice is showing genuine remorse, and I know he won't do it again. But the league cannot tolerate this. The 6 game suspension for the first offense is a good start for the league.
