I'm more interested in seeing what Renner can do. Schaub's been around for awhile. He can only, at his age, come around to his old self, maybe? No matter how good, he isn't going to ever replace Flacco. It may come down to wanting to put in Renner rather than Schaub. Years down the road, Renner replaces Flacco, again maybe? I saw some good things from that kid the other night.
...Bryn Renner will never be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Never.
Really can't wait to see Perriman in live game action. I hope he's a speed mismatch like Chris Johnson was early on. I remember his first couple years defenders just couldn't get angles on him. Having that kind of threat in our arsenal will make this offense scary.
Pretty much. He's one of the best dlinemen in the nfl that no one has ever head of. Jernigan played well in limited time but Williams was great as a full time starter last year
Yea B. Will is definitely in line to lead the DL once Canty retires.
Yep, good to hear about Jernigan. Do we have a nickname for him? TJ maybe?
I prefer plain old "Timmy." Nice and understated for a monster of a man.
Thanks for posting that clip.. Nothing wrong with the speed there at all
My favorite part is grunt of approval at :54 lol.
Good game boys. Plenty to be proud of, plenty to work on.
I'm just hoping no great American tragedies happen tonight. And by that I mean things unheard of in the history of preseason football. And by that I mean bone bruises.
Other than that, really looking forward to seeing Davis and Waller in action.
That article is interesting. Mark Clayton had the same 40 times as Torrey. Greg Little is tied for strongest WR ever? Wow
Little should've been a DB. Tracks the ball well, strong as an ox, can't catch in the slightest.
I'm hoping to see some of that sarcasm if I'm right and Breshads not ready to go week one.
And we'll all happily accept your crow eating if this doesn't come to pass.
In Harbaugh Years.
As you so aptly pointed out, it's probably due to Harbs' incompetence as a head coach.
They have not updated anything on Jernigan since it has happened. Other than the knee, the foot, on someone his size, is probably the next worse thing. With how much weight he has to support, any little issue with his feet could result in a stress fracture. You can bet your money that they will be taking their good ole time getting him back, if it could be potentially serious of course.
I bet it exploded.
I can't wait to tell my grandkids about the day we discovered the next Ravens General Manager on these forums. Praise.
Gotta admire Barnwell's ability to write about the Ravens whilst barely mentioning the Ravens.
Maybe we should just stop having training camp? We'll do healthy come preseason. That's all that matter right, guys? Right??
I say we sign Rice, Aldon Smith, grab Hernandez now since no one wants him, trade for Greg Hardy, Brandon Marshall and Santonio Holmes and sign Chris Cook who we let walk yesterday. Do it!
What's Albert Haynesworth up to these days? Maybe kick the tires on that stud as well.
Aldon Smith has proved he can't be trusted. Just not Raven material.
Pollard:
“[The Ravens] have to make that decision, but for me, this is a place where I had so much fun,” Pollard told Glenn Clark Radio. “I was blessed to be able to win a Super Bowl with that organization and great teammates. And I know that that team is not far off. I would be more than willing to return and help. I want another ring. I could play a good three or four years.
“I want another Super Bowl championship and I know Baltimore has all the pieces that can make it happen. I know I could be another piece of the puzzle that can help bring that there.”
But I thought there was no possible way Pollard would ever even consider it and shame on the Ravens for being such meanies?!?! These forum insiders are taking L's all over the place lately.
we've never even seen him play WR yet but hes gonna be the best TE in the league in a few years even though hes about 25 lbs lighter than your average TE?
man this guy must be really good...
Haha taking this post way out of context. Back when I wrote that we were speculating as to how they'd use Waller. I think at this point he's proving that WR is the position he should stay at. Regarding the weight, Gillmore put on 15 lbs of muscle in one offseason. 25 over the course of 3-4 seasons with Waller's frame wouldn't be a stretch at all.
There's a quarterback controversy in Baltimore
Insider information isn't what it used to be ![]()
I don't really care about your opinion of Brown, I've had far to many one sided debates on that subject to know that some people only use stats to measure a player. Not saying thats you at all.
My question would be. How do you make the argument that Brown's rookie season was a result of Torrey (the #1) getting all the attention and knock him for it, when that's exactly what a #2 WR is supposed to do. Win against 2nd and 3rd DBs because the defense is focused on the #1 guy. I don't get that.
Also by that same logic of the offense went to him because of the lack of talent, wouldn't it only make sense that his opportunities would drastically decline when you bring in a OC that doesn't use much of his 3rd WR, features his TEs more, and you also bring in former pro bowl pass catchers in Smitty and Daniels. Honestly you would be foolish to expect that Brown's opportunities wouldn't decline. Any guy that goes from the #2 option down to the #4 or #5 option in a TE heavy offense will see a decline. I figured that was a given.
I dunno man. This entire post sounds like the pot meeting the kettle. I don't agree that you're one of the few MB supporters on this board. I would argue that until his current Houdini act at training camp that most fans on this and other boards blindly support Marlon and can't understand how anyone would question his status on the roster. Some have even gone so far as saying he's "the second best receiver on the team behind Sr." You certainly haven't gone that far, but definitely don't miss an opportunity to plug M. Brown.
That said, the stats point doesn't make any sense in this case. MB didn't see his role "decrease" in 2014, he disappeared entirely. I don't care if every single pass he caught last year was a 3rd down conversion (which isn't even close to reality), he caught 24 passes in 14 games playing 36% of the snaps. That's not looking at stats and crafting a story, that's all you need to know. Beyond that, the justification still doesn't hold water. If Brown's lack of stats were a function of circumstance when he was the unequivocal 3rd receiver, how did the 4th receiver outproduce him with even less opportunities?? It doesn't make sense...unless Marlon Brown squandered his opportunities (i.e. Isn't very good).
I totally understand your stance. You like Brown. You see something in him. That's fine. But to act like anyone who doesn't agree with that--with perfectly legitimate reason given the atrocity that was his most recent season--is a simpleminded stat troll is just a ridiculous, condescending statement.
marlon brown is average at best guys, how many seasons of mediocre production in part time roles will it take for folks to realize he is at the very best a 3rd option for spread sets. and 7 touchdowns as a rookie is an anomoly, our line was horrid, leading to an emphasis on pass rush we had to face, torrey smith got ALL of the attention because he was the only real threat and teams knew this, and marlon brown was a beneficiary of ALWAYS getting favorable 1v1 matchup with the teams 2nd or 3rd corner, in year 2 when we had a more diversified passing game, its no surprise that marlon brown basically fell off the map aside from a few schemed 3rd down conversions.
i like him, hes not bad, but in reality he may be the 5th or 6th best receiver on this team by the end of preseason, especially according to the reports about aiken and butler.
But he has experience man. What are we going to do without all that experience?
This was the biggest and probably only concern i had about Marlon Brown coming into this season. I've been one of the only guys around here supporting Marlon and i think he's gonna be a big part of the offense, but if he misses a ton of time and Aiken and Butler play really well in his absence, i think that'll put Marlon down that depth chart unless Trestman just loves him and envisions a big role for him.
Your biggest and only concern about Marlon Brown coming into this season was his back? Really?

agree. I expect him to start slow but by the end of the year I think we'll see solid swag per catch numbers.
