I think Kyle Arrington would be a nice pickup for us. We have cap space and he was released. This is Ozzies type of signings. He actually graded out well last season as well. Would help, but not getting my hopes up.
Cundiff was missing that kick no matter what. A deflated ball won't cause you to miss that bad.Makes you wonder about the kicking balls in that famous 2011 AFC championship game up there. You know. The one where Billy Cundiff missed the field goal. We don't know how long the Patriots have been doing this, do we. And to say Belly-check didn't know anything is absurd on the face of it and down deeper. The man, the team has a history of cheating.
This is cheating. I don't care if they dominated the Colts or not. It hurts the integrity of the game, and if its just a fine, then more teams will do it. What makes it even more ridiculous, is that they didn't even have to do it. Brady and Bilicheck are great, but I cant stand cheating. They deserve to be ssuspended, and I really don't care that they are playing the Steelers. I honestly respect the Steelers a lot more than I do the Patriots. This is the same as getting busted for PEDs essentially. Brady needs to be suspended.I know none of us like the Patriots, but if you honestly don't think this deflate gate thing is stupid then come on bruh. The Pats still punished the Colts in that game. If it was a close game then yeah I could see why it would be a big deal, but the Pats completely out played them, and I think people forget that. The Pats vs Ravens was the REAL AFC Championship game. Sleazy as they may be, Belichick and Brady are great. We hate them because they win, and because the way they win isn't "honorable." Yeah I understand it was cheating, and they should be punished in someway, but anything more than a fine would be an overreaction. Do we really want Brady suspended? Thats like suspending Michael Jordan for posterizing you with a slightly deflated basketball. Plus, the Pats play the Steelers in week one. Do we really want the Steelers to get a Bradyless Pats team? Just fine the Pats and Brady, and let us all get over this blown out of proportion "scandal."
Disagree. The offense performed just fine without him and actually went on to be one of the best offenses in Ravens history. It wasn't the offense that let the Ravens down.
While it may not be a necessity, having a healthy Pitta would have made our offense even better. We did have one of the best offenses in Ravens history, but if we have Pitta, he could have been the difference between some touchdowns and FGs in the redzone. I remember Daniels missing a ball in the back of the endzone late in the fourth quarter at New England in the playoffs. While it would have been a tough catch, I still firmly believe a healthy Pitta makes that catch. But I agree that our offense wasn't what let us down, injuries let us down.
Even if he doesn't play this year, I don't think he will retire. His contract this upcoming season is fully guaranteed, with him makimg $4 million. He can sit this year out and decide after that, which wouldn't be as bad on us financially as if he retired now.Let's just say he retires. Anyone know what happens to his contract and it's impact on the salary cap at that time?
I get the feeling that some people are doubting Perriman. Hopefully he uses it as motivation. I really think that this guy could turn into the receiver Flacco has always needed. With some good coaching and mentoring from SSS, he could even put up big numbers this year. Honestly, if he just makes defenses respect him, thats all we need. I think 50-60 catches would be a good year for Perriman.
I agree as well. I don't think Maxx Williams will last that long. He will go in the top half of the 2nd.Have to disagree. If we want Maxx we will have to trade up to get him. IMO
How many pkayoff appearances have we had in those 8 years? We also have a super bowl. And then there are teams that have 5-6 probowlers and don't make the playoffs. The probowl is a joke. We are building to make another 5-6 year run at the playoffs.Right now on paper the Ravens look well behind Browns and Bengals in Talent. That is undeniable. If Manziel can add anything, Ravens are the 3rd most talented team in AFC North. Who was the last Pro bowl player the Ravens drafted in the 1st round? Ngata in 2006. That's 8 years Ravens fans. Passed on FS Ha Ha and Pryor while adding nothing in free agency. Team will trhow deep on Ravens early and often. Offense couldn't run, block, or get open and you draft a DT in the 2nd round. I love the Ravens, but call it like I see it. Missed opportunity.
Because apparently our FO thought he was better than both of them. Elam will be the face of this defense for the future, and I bet he plays SS this year no matter what.elam wont be the face of our defense as long as he isn't playing in his real position. drafting pryor or Clinton dix allows elam to be the tackling machine he is, instead of forcing him to be a coverage liability, and I don't see how mosley is gonna be placed above BOTH of them in terms of BPA.
I really don't know why people are surprised about this pick either, if he was on the boards and the big 4 lineman were gone, Mosley was going to be a Raven. I'm excited about this.
I also think people forget that there is a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round. We can find a starting safety in the 2nd or 3rd round. A lot of draft left. One pick isn't going to fix our football team. Obviously we are comfortable with Wagoner, I think he deserves a shot. Mosley will make a big impact. Our defense is getting younger, and BETTER!!
And now everyone will hate on Ozzie. This is BPA. Great pick. Him and Elam will be the face of our defense for the next 10 years. We will get a safety/RT in the 2nd. Don't hate on this move, I think it was a very good one. We fixed the offense, our defense has some holes.
It would be nice to fill them though the draft, but the idea of having a rookie and Elam holding down the top of our secondary makes me a little worried. RT isn't such a problem. Wouldn't surprise me if they give Wagner a shot there anyway.I think the draft is and should be the plan for both of those spots.
I think Ozzie should start looking at some Safeties....we need one. Or possibly a RT. Other than that, we should be about done in free agency.
Believe he signed with Tampa bay today.I agree on all of that. Mack might be the #1 Center but you are right that he will be too expensive. There are still a few good FA's out there.Has Green Bay's Center Evan Dietrich Smith signed anywhere yet?
I would say a faster version of Derrick Mason, but I still love it.We got a faster version of Anquan Boldin back. I love it.
His cap number actually isn't to bad this upcoming year and in 2015. I think in the 4th year of his deal, which will be 2016, his number jumps to 29 million. That is when we will restructure. Joe's cap numbers are pretty fair for the next 2 years.Ok I'm going to retract my last comment. At the sake of the salary cap, I guess we're done. You have to think of the huge cap number Flacco will have next year. Gotta have some cushion for that unless he 120 million dollar man will restructure his deal.
Your right that we have enough to sign Mack, but the problem is the Browns will have a chance to match that offer. Given their cap space, the contract would have to be very front loaded, which would take basically all of our cap space, and the Browns could probably still match. The Ravens could easily give Mack a deal similar to Monroe's. His SALARY CAP number this year is only $3.2 million.
The Ravens had $15.6 million. I would guess that The Smiths take up about $5 million of that. The Ravens draft picks will take about $3 million. That leaves about $7 million. Easily enough to get a Mack deal done. The Ravens can free up another $1.6 million when they bring in another punter and release Koch. (That probably won't happen til the end of pre-season)
Best part of all this is that the Ravens do not lose any comp draft picks - should still get a 4th for Jones and a 5th for Graham.
Monroe, K.O, Mack, Yanda, Oher
That could happen......if we had the amount of money the Raiders have in salary cap, which we don't. I don't see us going after Mack. He will be extremely expensive and the browns could probably match our offer. I do see us bringing in a Center, I just don't know who. RT will either come from the draft or someone already on the team, not Oher.
Smith coming in tomorrow, if we are that serious about wanting him, he doesn't leave without a contract.
So Webb and Jimmy are inexperienced? Graham was a solid player, but we still have our 2 best corners on the roster. We need a FS and our secondary will be fine.Corey being gone just means the Ravens secondary just got more inexperience then ever. You think they look confused last year just watch the busted coverages this year. Just saying
I wouldn't mind that either.Well, it definitely does sound like that...
Ohh I agree, I'm thinking the same thing. We have retained great players, but these are the same guys we went 8-8 with. But by keeping these guys we do get better. Because losing them is one more hole we would have to fill. I have said all along that whatever we do in Free Agency will depend on what we do in the draft. If we pickup a receiver, I think we will draft a FS or RT with the first pick and receiver in the second. I'm just excited about what Oz will do as well. He always has a plan in place.JO14.... agreed... I know it is early.... and I am super excited to have locked up Suggs, Pitta and Monroe... I do think that are some of the key ingredients to getting back to the super bowl. It hurts to lost Art Jones, Corey and Ihedigbo. I am 100% confident that we will replace them and that Ozzie and Company have a plan in place to do so. I am simply stating that we do have some holes and Oz and co do have some work to do. I cannot wait to see how he goes about this! the route that he takes now... may say alot about the direction we go in the draft!
I seen this as well....I think he may be returning.....LaRon McClain on twitter: "If I can get back to that place.... Where it all started... God willing"
Say what?

This is a good signing. Our secondary just got stronger. Hopefully we stay healthy, because we could be dangerous.
